Incandescent lamp. In the majority of incandescent lamps, especially those for car headlights etc., the filament is too close to the sealed parts of the current inlets, which is easily the result, due to the different expansion of the glass and wire, a defective sealing at this point. Many arrangements of the filament have already been proposed with a view to remedying this drawback, but without being able, however, to achieve a truly satisfactory result.
The present invention relates to an incandescent lamp comprising two different helical filaments arranged in the longitudinal axis of the lamp, the filament of highest luminous intensity being situated in the half of the bulb remote from the base, the fixing filaments and the current supply taking place, on the one hand, at a junction point between the two filaments and, on the other hand, at the ends of the latter, in order to be able to put the two filaments separately.
With this arrangement, the high intensity filament, which produces greater heat, is sufficiently far from the sealed parts of the current inputs. so as not to cause a defective seal as a result of excessive local heating. The low intensity filament which emits much less heat will not cause unacceptable heating either.
Another advantage of this arrangement lies in the fact that the high intensity filament can be used to generate a strong headlight light, while the low intensity one can provide the position light, for example in town, the best effect. reflection and concentration of light rays by the reflector can be achieved by virtue of the axial arrangement of the two filaments.
In order to prevent, as a result of a tearing of the attachment of the wire bringing the current to the junction point of the two filaments, which frequently happens with the usual attachment by soldering to the outside of the base, the low intensity filament can also receive the upper tension intended for the high intensity filament, which would cause its deterioration, the end of this lead wire is advantageously housed and welded in a stamped housing of the base so that at this location the The exterior of the base shows no protrusion. The other two current supply wires are preferably connected to two concentric metal parts fixed to an insulating pad of the base.
An embodiment of the object of the invention is shown schematically and by way of example in the accompanying drawing, in which: FIG. 1 is a vertical section, FIG. 2 a plan view of the bottom of the base.
As shown in fig. 1, the lamp com carries two metal supports 1 and 2 long enough so that the headlight filament 3, that is to say the high intensity filament, is located in the half of the bulb remote from the base. This filament 3 is arranged in series with the filament 6 for the position light, the two being situated in the longitudinal axis of the lamp and the latter being intended to provide a low light intensity.
For this purpose, its section is chosen so as to be able to withstand a higher voltage; so this second filament is. susceptible to voltage surges during operation without danger of breakage.
The base 5 comprises two concentric isolated metal parts, namely on the one hand, a central cup 6a comprising the housing in which is welded the wire I of the headlight filament bent at 8, and, on the other hand, a second part insulated metal consisting of a ring 9 concentric with the bowl 6 and fixed by rivets on the insulating pad 10 of the base. The casing of the base 5 comprises a recess 11 stamped over a certain height to allow a good tin soldering of the common wire 12. This arrangement prevents any tearing of the wire and makes it possible to obtain contact on the two. isolated poles whatever the position of the base 5 in the socket.
