In Fig. 1 bezw.
Two-cylinder hot-head engines have the disadvantage that when the load is low or when the load is idling, one cylinder fails and then no longer works when the load is restored. The reason is that the fuel pumps in both cylinders are never so finely regulated; that the small amount of fuel still required for idling is fed to both cylinders in an even distribution; one of the pumps will stop while the other is still delivering.
The glow head of the Zy linder, whose pump is no longer effective, cools down. and therefore no ignition can occur in this cylinder when the engine is loaded again and the fuel is injected.
In order to eliminate these deficiencies, it has already been proposed in two-cylinder hot-head engines to combine the hot-head of both cylinders into one piece, in the middle of which a partition is provided. The bi - (# nt) substance should be sprayed from both sides against this partition wall, which is common to the two Glübköl) fen, so that if the spraying stops from one side when idling, the combustion on the other side keeps the plate so warm that when the fuel supply is restarted, ignition takes place on the first side.
During the compression stroke, a layer of evaporated fuel and air forms on the separating wall that forms the ignition plate, which is correspondingly thin when idling or under low load, so that the burning off of the same may develop too little heat to allow the ignition plate to initiate the next time the ignition is to be kept at a sufficient temperature.
In contrast, in the two-cylinder glow head mator according to the invention, the glow heads of both cylinders are provided in a common hollow body, separated from one another by a wall and connected through narrow channels with evaporator chambers, the evaporator plates of which the hollow body connects with one another for the purpose of providing a heat exchange between to create both glow heads
which prevents the glow head in question from cooling down below the ignition temperature when the engine is idling and the fuel supply to an evaporator chamber is temporarily interrupted.
In Fig. 1 and Fi . 2, 3 and 4, respectively. b 9 5 of the accompanying drawings show three different exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention.
According to FIG. 1, a .. al are the two cylinders of the machine; b, bi are narrow channels through which the evaporator spaces e, ei are in communication with the cylinders; d, di are the fuel nozzles. which open into the evaporator chambers e, ei and through which the fuel is sprayed against the evaporator plates e, ei of the evaporator chambers e, (-i becomes.
The evaporator plates e, ei are connected to one another by a hollow body k, and the hollow body k is divided by a wall it- into the two annealing hoppers gi gi, the Crliihl #: ijpfe g, gi are connected to the evaporator chambers e, ei through narrow channels 1, 11 .
The mode of operation of the machine according to FIG. 1 is as follows.
After the lamp / ' has heated the hollow li:; irper k and at the same time the evaporator plates P, egg the machine is cranked. In the process, the fuel is pumped through the nozzles d, di, and the atomized fuel is pressed into the evaporator chamber e, ei , evaporates here and, together with that in the evaporator chambers c, ei , full fresh air is a combustible mixture.
During compression, the glow elements g, gl are filled with a combustible mixture, which here is in contact with the most heated wall, the diaphragm iv, enter. As the compression progresses, ignition takes place first in the glow heads g, gl, which flow through the connecting channels 1, li like a stitch pattern into the evaporator rooms e, </ B> ei propagates and ignites the mixture contained in it.
If the one fuel pump fails when the engine is idling, the temperature of the glow head belonging to the relevant side of the machine cannot fall below the ignition temperature, because the warden of the hollow body and the partition iv provide effective heat Carried out from your still working glow head.
For example, if the fuel supply through the nozzle di has stopped, the regulator of the machine will immediately act to feed a larger amount of fuel through the nozzle (1, since the piston in cylinder a also does the idling work of the piston al As a result, a richer mixture collects in your evaporator room c, which is pressed through the channel i into the bulb y as the compilation progresses.
When igniting in incandescent.: Opf fl, the hollow body k, and in particular the wall ir are heated again and both secure the ignition process in the incandescent head gl as soon as through the, nozzle di the Fuel injection takes place again.
According to FIG. 2-4, the nozzles d, di are positioned vertically and centrally over the evaporator plates e, ei, that form one piece, while on their part horizontally so that every drop of fuel emerging from the nozzle falls safely onto the evaporator plates e, ei and is ignited, even with the slightest load.
b The plates e, ei form a boundary wall of the hollow body k, which is arranged below the same and which is divided into the Glübköpfegig by the wall it.
The channels 1, 11 allow the fuel / air mixture to enter the glow heads gel, and the stabbing lines strike from these (-'rlühköpferi into the evaporator spaces e, ei .
Both evaporator plates e, ei are provided with edges gn as shown in Fig. 2-4, so that two plates and a flat surface are created. If the fuel contains a lot of ash, the ash will collect on these plates and, as they are easy to remove, can be removed as quickly as possible at any time.
The level separating effect has since then made the influence of thermal expansion insignificant. If the channels 1,11 are arranged in a star-shaped manner according to Fig. 5 and placed at an angle to the nozzles . then the pilot lights strike oh, b n of individual channels against the partition wall mi of the two evaporator chambers c, ei. This means that the point where the largest accumulation of material is located
transfer the heat in an effective way.
