La boîte o est fermée latéralement, c'est- à-dire sur la face visible dans ficr 1, par un volet qui s'agrippeà sa partie supérieure sur t, un bourrelet 1), et qui petit se rabattre com plètement autour d'une eharnière o" ména géeà sa partie inférieure;
Pour mettre ce dernier en place, on com mence par l'enfiler au-dessous de la tablette 1, le tenant avec les deux mains, , puis on ac- croche le crochet fixe7 autour dut bourrelet longitudinal -de cette dernière;
Lorsqu'on effectue le dessin dans la cham- 'Ure noire, il est commode d'titfliser une plate- forme 21 (fig.'7), fixéeà un axe 22 qui tra- verse un trou23 pratiqué au travers d'une plaque 24 s'ajustant exactement au fond de la boîte o;
Une chambre noire unique pourrait être accouplée avec plusieurs dispositifs d'éclai- rage, par exemple au nombre de 2, à ou 4, cliacun d'eux se raccordant par son coffret de condensateurà un cadre monté sur l'une des faces de la chambre noire commune. On comprend que cette combinaison permet d'augmenter et de régulariser l'éclairage;
Projection lantern, in particular for opaque bodies. The object of the invention is a projection lantern, in particular for opaque bodies, comprising, on the one hand, at least one lighting device provided with a capacitor, and on the other hand, a dark room provided. of optical devices, of supports for what which is to to project and as many frames of raceorganization as there are there lighting devices, the latter and the darkroom constituting two parts completely independent of each other, but capable of being connected in various positions in the direction to giving to the projected beam and the nature of what is to projected, the capacitor box serving in all cases as a connection between them.
The accompanying drawing represents an embodiment of the object of the invention, given to by way of example, with the accessories which it comprises and various combinations that can be made thereof .
Fig. 1 is a vertical view, with partial section, of a first arrangement of the lantern, and Fig. 2 is a vertical view of a second arrangement, of which FIG. 3 is a plan; Fig. 4 is a vertical view of the. lan- tern * e equipped with projection apparatus for transparent bodies; Fig. to 14 represent accessories that allow the key lantern to be used in various ways and in various positions.
In these figures, the same letters or numbers designate the same organs.
a is a box containing an electric lamp b and resting by one of its edges c, in an inclined position, on any base; this safe a is provided at the rear of a door d, held closed by a spring with blade 1, </ B> and having a 1 "button made of wood or other material that does not conduct much heat; this button allows the door to be operated and the entire lantern to be transported as will be explained further on.
The upper face of the Chest has a chimney and is sealed to the light for the evacuation of hot air, while its underside is completely open, but can be closed by a . screen f sliding in grooves in the side walls of the box. This screen is used to adjust the input of Fair in this last.
In parallel to the screen f is fixed in the box a sheet y whose side edges folded down form two slides g 'in which small slide a plate h. On the latter are mounted, on the one hand, a socket i in which is screwed the electric lamp b, on the other hand, a reflector j placed behind said lamp; this small reflector can also be replaced, if desired, by a diffuser.
To facilitate repairs, the sleeve i is introduced into a sleeve k carried by the plate li, and held in place by a not shown tightening screw; it is therefore easy- # 1 deny lifting it with the 'conductors connected to it, for example to fill them.
The filg. It represents another Y plate carrying a smaller socket, and suitable for the weaker lamp; it goes without saying that one can have an assortment of plates and (similar sockets, intended for various tales of lamps.
The anterior face says chest a. carries a cylinder in which is -introduced tin eof- fret in containing two lenses îd and iii, "eonstituent a capacitor.
The components which have just been described form the lighting device; this device is removable and can be placed in iliver- its positions with respect to the organs which will be described and which will constitute the dark chamber.
The latter comprises a box o provided, on one of its inclined faces, with a frame o 'clans which can be inserted the box in (lu capacitor; this box serves, consequently, as a sealed connecting member < B> to the light between the two main parts of the lantern.
The box o is closed laterally, that is to say on the visible face in ficr 1, by a flap which grips at its upper part on t, a bead 1), which can be folded completely around a hinge o "left gée at its lower part;
this said box also carries a button P 'which, together with the box 1', and with a light pressure of the hands, allows (transporting it all the milk- dull, without risking Cie removing the box m from the frame o '.
q and q ' are two feet mounted on hinges and capable of being folded down, the first to the side, clans the extension (the anterior face on which it is articulated and the second towards the bottom, in the plane of the same ace.
The upper face of the box o carries a lubrication r which receives the optical device. In the, embodiment shown in fig. 1, the latter consists of an objective not drawn, adjustable either to slide, or to to create mesh, and in a 1 "mirror mounted in a frame t 'which is articulated on two arms t fixed to the lens tube.
When the tube (the objective which one has chosen is of smaller diameter than the diameter r, one can have recourse to nu raecord r \ represented by fig. 13-, this connection consists of an outer sleeve r ", which can be intro duced with gentle friction in the tubing r, and made integral, by a spacers in the form of a crown, of an inner sleeve of the diameter of the objective The bottom of the box is pierced with a circular opening whose center coincides with the intersection of the axis of the optical device and of the axis of the condenser.
In fig. 1, the device is mounted on a support which comprises a shelf 1 provided with an inclined plane 2 and pierced with an opening l '</ B > (fig. 1.2) corresponding to, that of the black song,
the latter fits against a 3 edge of the 1 shelf. The side edges of this shelf are rolled up so to form two slides which receive two rods 4 carrying a -foot 5. Said support therefore has a fixed leg 2 and a movable leg 5 which can be moved away -more we say less first by sliding the rods. in their slides. which allows (Vintroclude, below the darkroom and in the optical axis, objects of jurandes dimensions.
These objects, very strongly illuminated by the light beam coming from the condenser, emit rays which the objective directs on the mirror t "which reflects them on a screen placed in any position, for example in front or behind by the operator. By removing this, mirror t ", we can still project the image on the ceiling. Objects can also be placed on the back of the darkroom itself.
When one has to project a series of images, it is convenient to employ a device which will be denoted by -reel pass, and which is shown in fig. 5. This spool holder consists of a full board 6 which carries a fixed hook 7, and a removable hook 8 for me a, the end of a rod; the latter can be removed by sliding in a duct 9 formed along the board.
This board carries, on the side opposite to the duct 9, a vertical cheek 10 terminated by a folded part forming a hook. It and 12 are two reels, 11 the reel on which is wound the series of images to to be projected, images which are all carried by the same flexible member, and 12 an empty reel as the one can rotate by any means, for example. by means of a crank mounted on an axis 13 rotating in the spool holder.
To put the latter in place, we start by threading it under the shelf 1, holding it with both hands, , then hooking the fixed hook 7 < / B> around the longitudinal bead -of the latter;
this done, we give a slight displacement, until the play 10 can come to clip on the re edge 3 of the tablet 1; </ B> the hooking is then completed by inserting the hook 8 into the duct 9 until its curved edge comes into contact with the second longitudinal bead of the tablet 1. The spool holder is then in place and the first image is between the tablet 1 and the board 6, at- below the circular hole made through through the shelf; this first image is therefore exposed to the light rays emanating from the electric lamp b and projected.
To move it, the axis 13 of the reel 12 is rotated, so as to bring the second image into the projection position; the operation is thus continued until the series of images has been exhausted. The reels, well stretched, are mounted removably so that they can be easily replaced by others after use. They can be provided with cheeks to guide the flexible member carrying the images, during its movement.
If you want to project a. drawing during its execution, the operator first places on the. bottom of the box o the support on which he must draw; to for this purpose, he opens the door which is folded around the hinge o "', he then fixes to the upper part of the box o, with using pliers 14 (fig. 8) a black veil 16 carrying a window 17 fitted with a colored glass or other transparent substance allowing him to follow the design which he draws after having slipped his hand under the veil 1.6 to </ B > inside the box. A lecturer can thus, without looking at the white projection screen, placed behind him, for example, carry out any drawing while following his work inside with his eyes. de the box.
It may also be that a designer - wants to run the design out of the box and then project it. He will employ. then the device represented by FIG. 6, consisting of a board 18 with slide which carries to its upper part, a frame 19, pierced with 'an opening 20 corresponding exactly to that of the projection. Between this frame and the 18 plate, he will then thread the sheet of paper on which he wants to draw; finally after having executed his drawing, he will place the plan- clieffe 18 inside the darkroom o.
It is obvious that the image appears straight or reversed depending on whether the projection is made on a screen placed on one side or the other of the lantern; in the second case, therefore, it is necessary to present the inverted design inside inside the dark room, if we want a straight image.
When drawing in the black chamber, it is convenient to tap a platform 21 (fig.'7), fixed to an axis 22 which passes through a hole. 23 made through a plate 24 fitting exactly to the bottom of the box o;
the axis 22 protrudes below the. dark room and it is possible, by maneuvering this axis so to make it rotate on itself, to produce the rotation of the plate 21 in order to achieve a projection in the right direction.
If you want to keep some object under the lantern, for example a book, so that it is pressed against the underside of the darkroom, you can use the to double device. corner represented by FIG. 9. The book is placed on a board 25 solid with a first corner 26; by more or less embedding a second corner 27, the level of the 25 board is more or less raised and, as a result, we arrive at exactly applying the book against the underside of the darkroom, whatever its thickness .
To facilitate the maneuver, one of the corners may have guide cheeks for the other. tD If you have to throw fragile objects without consistency, such as lace, fabrics etc., it is good to place them in the support shown in fig. 10; this support consists of -a plate 28 of any material, above which is a plate of glass 29 or other material transparent. The fragile jet is inserted between the glass and the plate 28; to facilitate the handling and transport of the objects, a plate 30 < / B> which can be folded over the glass 29.
When in the position of the fi # g 1 ' the shelf 1 is not used to support the appliance, the foot q' carried by the box (): this foot coming to rest on the. table, keeps the device in posiiion.
Il may, in certain cases, be necessary to use lamps which must necessarily be in a vertical position. The lantern is then posed as shown in fig. 2 and 3, in fig. 9- being a view in elevation- vation, and FIG. 3 a plan view.
The safe a is, as we see it placed vertically and the darkroom is overturned so to present to the operator the part which, in fig. 1 is found to constitute the bottom; the operator therefore has in front of him the orifice to through which previously the light rays could pass to illuminate the opaque bodies placed below the darkroom; the connection between the box o and the box a is also made by the frame o 'into which the capacitor box enters.
In this case, it is no longer possible, as before, to use a ho rizontal spool holder; it is necessary to use a vertical spool holder, such as that shown in figs. 2 and 14. This vertical spool holder comprises a horizontal sheet 31 of the tines to to be coiled above the box o and which grips by a rim < B> 32 on the horizontal front edge of the darkroom. This sheet is bent at 33 to form the front support of an upper coil 34.
On this vertical part 33 is articulated, in 35, a frame 36 which carries to its lower part a horizontal axis 37 on which a solid shutter 38 is articulated; at 19, lower part of this shutter 38 is disposed a second coil 39. The flexible member 40 which carries the series of images starts from the upper coil 34, passes behind the shutter 38, consequently facing the opening made in the darkroom o, and will wind up on the. lower box 39 that can be operated by hand, as above. coil 1.2.
To keep the shutter 08 applied against the darkroom, a spiral spring 41 is used which ends in a curved part 42 which is threaded into the button P '.
All the operations which can be carried out, the lantern being in the position represented by the, 1, -can be repeated in the position represented in fig. 2. However, it will be noted that the spool holder can, in the latter, affect the form of a album cover with folds similar to those of a screen.
If we want to be able to tilt the lantern in different positions, we mount it on a support 45 (fig. 3) in which the two main parts o and a are located, and this thanks to the profile that 'it has. It then suffices to tilt this support 45 to direct the projection in any desired direction.
The apparatus, as it has been described, until now-serves for the projection of opaque bodies, (the which is moreover its real destination. It can, however, be fitted without any diffi culty with a projection lantern for transparent images. It is sufficient for this effect to arrange the safe as indicated on the fig. 1, that is to say vertically, and to fix in front of the box în of the capacitor, by hooking, a frame 46 in which -on can move a frame back and forth carrying the transparent images.
The connection of the box o to the box is then effected by means of a simple hooking on the frame of the. reciprocating frame, through the hole in the bottom of the darkroom opposite the optical device. It is possible to mount on the frame of the reciprocating chassis a part having a profile ensuring the stability of the darkroom during latching. The latter is then supported, on a table, for example, by means of the folded-down leg q, the q \ leg remaining in place against the side of the darkroom.
We thus have a veritable projection lantern which allows, among other things, to project infinitely small bodies, that is to say to make microscopic projection; these infinite bodies. small can be placed in a frame 47 disposed in a projection device 48.
The front lens mount can be formed by a circle with rim turned inward and attached to the lens tube by a bayonet hook .
When using a darkroom larger than that of the most common model, one is obliged to modify the capacitor; it suffices, for that, to remove the front lens of the latter;. one then obtains a greater diffusion of the light. When, on the contrary, a smaller darkroom is used, the capacitor is left intact, even if it means losing part of the rays of the beam.
A single darkroom could be coupled with several lighting devices, for example 2 in number, to or 4, each of which is connected by its capacitor box to < / B> a frame mounted on one of the faces of the common darkroom. It is understood that this combination makes it possible to increase and regulate the lighting;
it is still possible, when one wants, for example, stereoscopic views, to use a darkroom with two holes and with, two optical devices, for projection unique on the screen, this unique darkroom being combined with, two lighting devices as has just been said, the latter facing each other on both sides. 'other of the room It has black. been question,
with regard to the lighting of the appliance, only incandescent electric lamps. It is of course possible to use small fireplaces any.-
