La fig. 3 montre schématiquement un dis positif dans lequel la circulation du liquide opérant est séparée de celle du liquideà traiter. Dans ce cas, le cycle du liquide opérant s'effectue dans les serpentins5" et6" en communication entre eux, d'une part,à travers un compresseur11 et, d'autre part, à travers une vanne de réglage13. Le ser pentin5" est plongé dans un récipient31 avec lequel sont raccordés les bouts d'un serpentin33 logé dans la chambrel' où s'effectue la condensation du liquide en traite ment;
Method and device for the treatment of liquids by vaporization and condensation. The present invention relates to a process. for the treatment of liquids by vaporization and condensation using a temperature drop produced by an agent operating in a vaporized and condensed turn to tower, this process consisting in that the vaporization of the operating agent and of the liquid to process is obtained by subjecting them to a pressure less than atmospheric pressure.
The invention further comprises a positive device, for carrying out this process, consisting of a chamber for the liquid to to be treated which is in communication with another chamber intended to receive the vapors of this liquid and by two receptacles, linked together by a pipe where is inserted a regulating valve, one of which, intended to contain a liquid operating agent, is connected with the suction duct of a compressor, and the other, to contain the vapors of this operating agent, is connected with the compression duct of this compressor,
the whole being established in such a way that a heat exchange can occur between the chamber for the liquid to to be treated and the container for the vapors of the operating agent as well as between the chamber for the vapors of the liquid to to be treated and the container for the liquid operating agent.
The container for containing the liquid operating agent can be of greater capacity than the volume of liquid which it must contain, so that the latter has a free surface of large extent; the release of its vapors is then favored by surface evaporation.
The appended drawing shows schematically, to by way of example, three embodiments of a device according to the invention. Fig. 1 is the vertical section of a device for the ' tration or for the distillation of liquids; fig. 2 shows in vertical section a drying apparatus, and FIG. 3 shows in vertical section another type of installation.
In the construction shown in fig. 1, the device comprises two chambers 1 and 2 in communication with each other through through a conduit 3 where is mounted a fan 4 which generates pressure in chamber 1 and suction in chamber 2. A the interior of chamber 1 is housed a bundle of tubes 5 whose ends are inserted in plates 5 ' which separate a central com.- partilnent 7 from two compartments of 'end 8 and 9 which communicate with the interior of the tubes 5. Chamber 2 contains a bundle of tubes 6 < / B> the ends of which are inserted in 6 ' plates which separate a 7' compartment from two compartments
end 8 ' and 9' which com municate with the inside of the tubes 6.
The compartments 9 and 8 ' of chambers 1 and 2 are connected by a pipe 10 where a compressor is inserted rotary 11 capable of giving a high flow rate at a low pressure difference.
The 8 and 9 ' compartments communicate with each other to by means of a pipe fitted with a control valve 13.
The 7 ' compartment of chamber 2 com carries, at the top, a partition 14 leaving an annular opening around each of the tubes 6 and limiting another compartment 15 where a pipe 16 fitted with a pump 17 and coming from the bottom of the compartment 7 'ends. On the pipe 16 is connected an introduction fitting 18 and to inside the chamber 2 is formed a jacket 19 in which can be established a circulation of a hot fluid to raise the temperature to the desired degree and compensate for radiation losses.
Above the bottom of compartment 7 of chamber 1 is connected a discharge pipe 20, and to this compartment as well as the compartment 8 lead to two branches 21 and 22 of a tube 23, in communication with a pneumatic valve (not shown).
The duct 22 is connected with a duct 24.provided with a valve for the introduction of the operating liquid.
To turn on the appliance, after extracting the air from compartments 7 and 8 of chamber 1 to through ducts 22 and 23, is introduced into the compartment 8, to through the line 24, a determined quantity of an operating agent, for example carbonic acid , ammonia, sulfurous acid, methyl chloride, ether, etc. During the operation of the compressor 11 which produces a suction in the compartment 9, the operating liquid, which descends in the tubes 5, vaporizes inside the interior of these tubes and its vapors, discharged into the tubes 6 of chamber 2, are condensed in these tubes and the liquid produced collects at the bottom of the compartment < B> 9 ',
from where it returns to compartment 8 by going through conduit 12.
The tubes 5 contained in chamber 1 are there cooled and the tubes 6 in chamber 2 are reheated ; the difference in their temperatures can be regulated by operating the valve 13, or by modifying the flow rate of the compressor 11, that is to say the difference pressure.
The liquid to to be treated is introduced to through the connection 18 from where it passes into the compartment 15 and from there, through the annular openings surrounding the various tubes 6, it flows on the external surface thereof. By the action of the heat that these tubes receive by effect of the condensation of the liquid operating inside their interior (and possibly also to because of the heating of the liquid passing through the jacket 19) and to because of the fact that in chamber 2 there is a pressure lower than atmospheric pressure, part of the liquid at treat vaporizes, while the remaining liquid part collects on the bottom 6 ' and is returned by pump 17, to </ B> through duct 16, in compartment 15.
The vapors given off in the 7 ' compartment are forced by the fan 4 into the compartment 7 where they condense in contact with the tubes 5 cooled by the vaporization of the agent operating inside their interior and the condensed liquid is discharged through the 'LO.
The treatment of the liquid can be carried out at any temperature without this having a significant influence on the quantity of energy necessary for the operation of the device.
In the construction shown in fig. 2, and which is intended particularly for drying, the bundles of tubes 5 and 6 are replaced by two containers 25 </ B > and 26, which can also be formed by tubes, interconnected by a conduit 27 where the compressor Il is inserted and by the pipe 12 provided with the adjustment valve ' 13.
The receptacles 25 and 26 are housed inside inside chambers 28 and 29 in communication between them to through a 30 duct where a fan is mounted 4.
Ducts 21 and 22, respectively terminating in chamber 28 and in chamber 25 and connected, by a duct 23, with a pneumatic pump, are used for the extraction of the air, slums that the duct 24 is used for the in troduction of the operating liquid. 20 indicates the condensed liquid discharge tube . and 31 and 32 are the openings for the introduction and discharge of the material to to be dried.
The operation is similar to that previously deerit; the moisture or vaporizable liquid contained in the * material introduced into the chamber 29 is vaporized by the action of the heat given off by the coupling of the liquid operating in the chamber 26 and by the depression created by fan 4 in chamber 29; its vapors are condensed in chamber 28.
In this application, it is also possible to operate at any desired temperature by resorting to any heating or cooling system.
Fig. 3 shows schematically a positive device in which the circulation of the operating liquid is separated from that of the liquid to to be treated. In this case, the cycle of the operating liquid is carried out in the coils 5 " and 6" in communication with each other, on the one hand, to </ B> through a compressor 11 and, on the other hand, to through a control valve 13. The ser pentin 5 " is immersed in a container 31 with which are connected the ends of a coil 33 housed in the chamber l ' where s 'performs the condensation of the liquid being treated;
the coil 6 \ * is housed in a receptacle 32 with which are connected the ends of a coil 34 housed in the chamber 2 'for vaporization of the liquid being treated, this chamber 2' communicating with the chamber the to through a 4 'fan.
In this installation, the operating liquid vaporizes in the coil 5 " under the action of the suction produced by the compressor 11, and its vapors are discharged by this compressor into the 6 " coil where they condense # the condensed liquid returns to the 5" coil at through the control valve 13. The liquid circulating in the receptacle 31 and in the coil 33 and which is cooled by the effect of the evaporation of the operating liquid, gives rise, in the chamber 1 ' ,
for cooling intended. to cause the condensa tion of the vapors of the liquid in slum treatment that the liquid circulating in the chamber 32 and in the coil 34 transports into chamber 2 'the heat released by the condensation of the liquid operating in the 6 "serpen tin. By the action of this heat and to because of the fact that in chamber 2 'there is a pressure less than than atmospheric pressure, the liquid to to be treated vaporizes in this chamber and its vapors are discharged, by the fan 4 ', in the l' chamber where they are condensed.
The arrangement of the different elements of the installation can be changed, for example each of the 31 or 32 receptacles can supply the liquid to several coils as 33 and 34 respectively, so that the installation 5 "-11-6" Can be used for a certain number of 2'-4'-1 'devices intended for </ B> carry out the desired treatments.
The choice of the operating agent depends on the normal operating temperature best suited to the treatment of the liquid or the material that is in sight, in order to be able to work under good conditions. pressure in the rooms occupied by the operating agent. The ratio between the flow rates of the compressors or fans acting on the material treated and on the operating agent depends on the ratio between the heat of vaporization of the operating liquid and that of the liquid being treated.
In all the constructions described, the cycle carried out by the operating agent is the same as in an installation for the production of cold, but the temperature difference between the condenser and the vaporizer is small compared to < B> to, that existing in refrigeration installations (it can be limited to a few degrees only) and the work of the compressor is limited to overcoming a weak pressure.
