Calculator roller for calculating any side of a right triangle according to dent pytltagoräisclten theorem. 1> M, previously known calculating rollers are logarithmic calculating devices, i.e. H.
those on which the common logarithms are graphically plotted in Forin by scales and which mainly consist of two parts, the base roller and a rotatable and longitudinally displaceable hollow cylinder (named slide) that is mounted concentrically over the water.
A corresponding logarithmic scale in sections of the series mach on a number to the roller axis and below parallel surface lines is applied to both parts, i.e. H. this scale is plotted twice next to each other on the base roller, in such a way that the first part:
The left-hand scale is connected to the second part of the right-hand scale, the second part of the left-hand scale is connected to the third of the right-hand scale uiimittc @ lbar, etc.
Furthermore, the main ticks of both parts are marked with. Numbers are provided which indicate the numbers of the i oin ranges of the scale, up to these lines as logarithms represented as segments.
Uni (read to enable reading of the roller scale parts located under your slider. Is: the slider between its sl: alteilstül:
- ken slit-shaped perforated, so that between these slits rods arise on which the slide scale parts stand and which are held together to a whole by the edges of the hollow cylinder remaining to the left and right of the slits.
With this logarithmic calculating cylinder, multiplications, divisions and their combinations can now be carried out in this way.
that by means of the adjustable slide another scale segment of the slide is added to a scale segment of the base roller or a StreAw of the slide is subtracted from a segment of the base roller (or both at the same time), which results in an addition or Sul) tr-, lzl ion (or both ) of logarithms mean ',
where the number of the resulting logi (rithrnus or the resulting distance can be read from the number next to its end point and the line divisions between this and the end points obnE @, yours can be read from the roller scale.
The subject matter of the present invention is a ('Rcclienwalze. Of similar mechanically superlative ion as the above-described,

until the last section of the left-hand scale according to FIG. 3 is followed by a special scale section of the right-hand scale, which is not the first section of the latter, but rather contains a continuation of the left-hand scale.
To the left, and possibly also to the right of the two roller scales, annular edges a2 are arranged on the roller jacket surface, on which register numbers are plotted opposite the scale segments, which are intended to make it easier to find the scale values sought. The 0 (1 numbers of the left margin indicate the nominal value of the first division and those of the right edge the nominal value of the last division of the subsequent scale divisions.
The first number of registers on the left-hand margin, opposite the zero line (the left-hand scale), can be made particularly easy to identify by the special color or shape of the background surrounding it. The scales and the register numbers can also, instead of directly: .11f on the tube a, be applied to a special thin-walled cylinder jacket that is pushed firmly onto the outside of the roller tube a.
A second hollow cylinder, the so-called slide, is pushed concentrically over the (; ruiidwalze, respectively the tube a). This consists mainly of a thin-walled tube c (FIGS. 1 and 2) with parallel in the axial direction and below rectangular slots (Fig. 1 and a),
which tube c on both ends dureli each reinforced an outer ring d and is supported by means of a soft, ring-shaped cushion e fixed on the inside so that it can be rotated and shifted easily on the base roller.
Each of the two cushions can also consist of several individual pieces regularly distributed all around, in a known manner, with a leaf spring c1 (Fig. 2) corresponding to this in size and shape being attached and each by means of a screw nut f (Fig. 2 and 3) can be adjusted radially,
so that the friction of the slide with the base roller can be regulated. On the right-hand ring d, screws g (Fig. 2), which connect the ring finitely to the sliding ear c, are fastened handles la at regular intervals (Fig. 11d3), by means of which the slide is moved wildly, or during the Rotating the base roll can be held.
In order to secure the slide after its setting on the base roller against unintentional Ver provide, d. 1i. in order to determine the same on the base roller, a brake device is built into the slide ring d on the left, which, for example, as is known, by turning a screw head i.
