Kurve a. ist normale Druckvolumenkurve.
Method and device on centrifugal compressors to prevent the flow rate fluctuating. Efforts have always been made to combat fluctuations in the flow rate in blowers and compressors by taking appropriate measures. Until then, exhaust valves according to Rateau and throttle devices in the suction nozzle have been used for this purpose.
However, the throttling methods have the disadvantage that a very strong throttling is required to prevent oscillation for all wheels for which the pressure volume curve has a kink or discontinuity in the oscillation area. However, since the throttling represents a loss of work, it results in a relatively small final pressure and poor efficiency. The resulting ratios can be seen from the curves shown in FIG.
Curve a is the pressure volume curve of the unthrottled compressor, a 'is the continuation of this curve in the area of the oscillations. The course of this part a 'of the curve is known from the corresponding curves for water pumps. This part of the curve cannot be determined by direct measurement because of the oscillations occurring in this area. Its values can be calculated from those of the curves ai a9 a3 etc., taking into account the throttling and the achievable pressure ratio.
It turns out that many wheels work according to a curve ci, which has a discontinuity; this kink also appears in the corresponding part of the curves ai a2 a3 for operation with throttling. In order to prevent oscillations, the throttling must be driven so far that the pressure 1) still increases with decreasing delivery rate at the inflection point. The curve resulting from this for the limit curve, beyond which the delivery rate oscillates, is shown by curve G.
The curve d shows the course of the smallest Drosse development required to avoid the oscillations. As a result of this throttling, the ideal effect ig is reduced to rJG.
The present invention makes it possible to avoid fluctuations in the delivery rate in centrifugal compressors without the efficiency being significantly reduced by throttling. This is achieved by the fact that in the case of delivery quantities that are below the critical, the free passage openings of the guide channels are reduced in size as the delivery rate decreases and are increased as the delivery rate increases. The curves according to FIG. 2 illustrate the processes which occur when this method is used.
Curve a. is normal print volume curve. Its lengthening determined by calculation with the suction throttle method is a '# a ", on the other hand the enveloping curve which can actually be achieved by steadily reducing the size of the passage openings in movable diffusers and is also shown in FIG. 1 for comparison > a2 a3 are pressure volume curves for three different positions of the guide vanes.
From the course of the corresponding efficiency curves 9i r2 r, it can be seen that this is not just the external feature of relocating the throttling from the suction nozzle to the diffuser, but that at the same time the internal flow conditions in the compressor are a significant change have experienced.
In fact, the efficiency curves r, r2 ij @ have higher maximum values than the efficiency curves ri r2 r3 derived from calculation and measurement for operation with throttling in the suction nozzle and these curves can be enveloped by a limit curve r ″, which represents the geometric location of the maximum possible efficiency.
In addition, a comparison between the curve a ″ according to FIG. 2 that can be achieved with the present method and the limit curve G according to FIG. 1 to be observed in the suction throttle method shows that the new method does not only have the advantage of a suction throttle method compared to the suction throttle method used up until then offers a higher degree of effectiveness, but also allows a much higher pressure to be achieved than that.
The method according to the present invention can be used both in centrifugal compressors with a single stage and in those with several stages. In the latter case, the passage openings can be changed in some or in all stages.
To carry out the method, the guide vanes are arranged to be adjustable in such a way that when they are adjusted, a change in the throughflow cross-sections that they delimit occurs. This adjustment can be done manually or automatically. The automatic adjustment can be brought about by devices which adjust themselves under the influence of the pressure or the amount of the conveyed medium or under the influence of both variables.
In an exemplary embodiment, a device for performing the method according to the present invention in Fig. 3 is shown cally. The guide vanes are adjusted automatically under the simultaneous effect of the pressure and the amount of the conveyed medium.
The guide vanes A, which can be pivoted about the pivot points B, are made with the aid of a rotatable ring C to which they are articulated; adjusted. The rotation of the ring C takes place from the piston F, which via the three-armed angle lever; engages with the rods D on the rim C. The piston F is on the one hand under the influence of a spring G, on the other hand under a pressure IH, which is set from the pressure line K through the orifice t7 depending on the position of the outflow valve L in the space behind the piston F.
The outflow valve L is in turn under the action of a spring 171 and two pistons N and 0, one of which, N, supports the spring force and closes the outflow valve L as the amount of the conveyed medium increases, the other, 0, according to the pressure of the Funding acts on opening the Ven tilgis L.
Depending on the dimensioning of the spring 11, 1 and the pistons N and 0, an automatic adjustment of the guide vanes A can be achieved in such a way that the pressure volume curve achieved can be changed as required. If, for example, you only work with the pressure piston O and the spring M, you can regulate to constant pressure (see Fig. 5). By combining all three forces, control can be carried out along the lower curve f (FIG. 4), which drops to the left.
