Description

Ball bearing cage. In the case of the ball bearing cages provided with rings, the rings are connected either by connecting parts arranged on bent side parts of the same or by webs provided between the balls. The first-mentioned connecting parts require we significant extra work in the manufacture of the ball bearing cages and leave something to be desired in terms of durability, along with other defects not to be mentioned here. The connection of the cage rings by webs is disadvantageous insofar as the balls are arranged at greater distances from one another and so fewer balls can be used compared to the other ball bearing cages.

The present invention relates to a ball bearing cage with symmetrical cage rings connected to one another by webs, provided with bosses for receiving the balls, by means of which the disadvantages mentioned are intended to be remedied by providing prismatic, wedge-shaped bodies projecting between two balls as webs which each have two tapered ends, each of which penetrates one of the cage rings and is pressed out to form a head for attachment to the same.

In the drawing, an example embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown, and it shows: Fig. 1 is a plan view of the same with a partially white section. 2 shows a front view of the same with partial omissions, FIG. 3 shows a partial section along the line A-A of FIG. 1 on a larger scale, and FIG. 4 shows a variant of a detail in section.

1 and 2 are the balls 3 by means of bosses 4 surrounding cage rings. They have parallel, flat parts 6 between the bosses. These parts of the two cage rings are provided with 7 corresponding Durchbohrun gene. The ends of the webs 8 are inserted into these and pressed on the outer sides of the rings between and partially on the bosses to form heads 9. (The web 8a, FIG. 2, shows the upper end before the head 9 is pressed.) The webs 8 have a triangular cross section and are arranged in such a way that they protrude in a wedge-like manner between the balls 3 lying next to one another, without the Touching balls.

To prevent the webs from rotating about their longitudinal axes, the webs are arranged on the cage rings with respect to their position opposite the bosses in such a way that the heads 9 lean against the bosses 4, as can be seen in FIG. The prevention of the Dre hgins of the webs 8 could also be done in other ways, for example as shown in Fig. 4 Darge shows where the wheels 10 of the parts 6 are slightly raised against each other and so the Ste gene 8 serve as stops against twisting about their longitudinal axes.

The hump d wear at their highest resp. grooves 11 arranged in a crisscross manner at the lowest points, allowing the oil access to the balls.

The assembly of the ball bearing cages can be done in such a way that after the insertion of the balls 3 and webs 8 between the cage rings 1 and 2, the heads 9 of each web are pressed individually or all webs are pressed together.
