Machine for splitting and sharpening leather and similar materials, with rotating band knife. The invention relates to a machine for splitting and sharpening leather and similar materials, with a rotating band knife. According to the invention, a transport roller interacting with a stop bar is provided to guide the work piece to the band knife. This achieves very precise work and enables very thin leather to be split.
The transport roller can be pressed against the stationary stop bar by springs and set in rotation at both ends by worm gears that are positively connected to one another. If you want to interrupt the transport of the loader, it is not necessary to turn off the entire machine; rather, means can be provided to make this possible by switching off the transport roller alone.
The subject of the invention is shown in the drawing, for example.

<tb> Board <SEP> 1.5 <SEP> provided. <SEP> The <SEP> axis <SEP> 8 <SEP> of the <SEP> roller <SEP> 9 carries at its lower end the bevel gear 16, which meshes with the bevel gear 17 of the main shaft 2.
Arte front support 4 of the machine frame 1 is attached to a frame consisting of the rear wall 18 and the two side walls 19 consists. Between these side walls, the bar 20 extends with the guide jaws 21, 22 of the band knife 10. In addition, the support rollers 23 are housed in the bar 20, on which the band knife runs with its blunt edge. The jaw 22 is guided in lateral grooves in the walls 19 and is held against the fixed jaw 21 by levers 64 which are hinged at 65 on these walls and can be adjusted by screws 66.
From the frame 18, 19 hang down two support arms 24, in which the pivot axis 25 for the transport roller carrier 26 is attached. The transport roller carrier 26 is a frame-like structure which receives the shaft 27 below, the shafts 28 on both sides and the transport roller 29 above. On the left of the shaft 27 sits on her freely rotatable chain wheel 29, which is driven by the chain 30 of the fixed chain wheel 31 on the main shaft 2. The sprocket 29 can be coupled to the shaft 27 through the part 32 slidable on it, but rotatable with it hitch. The United push the coupling part 32 is done by the hand lever 33 and turning the vertical axis 34, at the lower end of an eccentric pin 35 in a groove 36 of the coupling part 32 protrudes.
If you want to interrupt the advance of the leather, the drive of the transport roller is switched off by means of the hand lever 33.
The shaft 27 drives the bevel gears 37 to the side shafts 28, which in turn set the transport roller 29 in rotation through the worms 38 and the tendon gears 39. The entire transport roller carrier 26 together with the shafts 27, 28 and the roller 29 can swing out about the axis 25 depending on the thickness of the imported leather; however, it is pressed against the stop bar 42 by springs 40. The springs 40 rest against the bracket 43, which is hinged to the transport roller carrier 26 with its ar men at 44. By means of the hand lever 47, the shaft 41, on which the bracket 43 is articulated, can be swung out against the action of the springs 40 and the roller 29 removed from the bar 42.
On the side walls 19 of the frame 18 attached to the machine frame 1 is at 45 of the means of the screw 50 adjustable bare stop bar support 46 rotatably fastened be. The stop bar 42 itself is rotatable at the top of the support 46 at 48 and can be adjusted in the height direction by means of the screws 49 and can also be knocked back completely. Through this adjustable bar of the stop bar you can choose the thickness of the split piece and go down to the strength of paper with it. The effective edge of the stop bar is not sharp, but rounded.
To keep the band knife constantly sharp, an automatic grinding device is provided. It consists of two grinding disks 51, 52, which act simultaneously on both sides of the band knife. The grinding wheel 51 with the line roller 53 is mounted in the swing arm 54, the disc 52 with the roller 55 in the swing lever 56. Both disks are driven by the main shaft 2 by a cord drive. The grinding wheels ben are pressed against the band knife by adjusting screws 57, 58.
The worn band knife can be adjusted in the height direction. For this purpose, the support rollers 2 3 are provided with idler rollers 59 (FIG. 7). The guide rollers 9, 9 'can also be set as high as desired by means of the screws 60. This is because these fibrillation rollers hang with the collar 63 of their hubs between the collars 61 and the washers 692 of the screws 60 and are taken with the screws in the vertical direction when they are adjusted (FIG. 6).
The worker stands in front of the machine. which reaches half a man's height so that he can overlook all parts. He places the leather on the stop bar and lets it slide between the transport roller and the stop bar. The transport roller grabs the leather and feeds it to the knife, which rotates at high speed and makes a pulling cut. As a result of the Fe countries 40, the transport roller can step back and adapt to the thickness of the leather to be split, but the set Ent distance of the stop bar from the band knife remains unchanged. The split piece slides down on the front holding jaw, the split leather down on the rear jaw.
The work is initiated in a simple manner and interrupted by the transport roller is set in motion or stopped by operating the hand lever 88.
