Description

Process for the regeneration of the materials used for the purification of the lighting gas with simultaneous recovery of their sulfur in the form of a concentrated mixture of ferruginous calcium polysulphides. It is known that the materials used to purify the lighting gas have lost their absorbing power as soon as their iron oxide has absorbed about 50% of sulfur.

The object of the present invention is a process for the regeneration of these materials having been used for the purification of the lighting gas, with simultaneous recovery of their sulfur in the form of a concentrated mixture of ferruginous calcium poly sulfides, that is, that is to say, containing iron in solution, capable of being used in agriculture, in zootherapy and in hydrotherapy.

According to this process, the materials used for the purification are added. gas in water in which lime has been extinguished beforehand, the resulting mass boils and separates by decantation the undissolved materials, which contain the regenerated purification materials, chi liquid which is subjected , after filtration, to a concentration in vacuum.

The mixture is discharged:; e into iron boxes in which the insoluble matter which is formed in! randf # part of regenerated scrubbing material, that is to say, iron oxide regenerated, quickly reach the bottom.

The liquid is decanted therefrom, being pumped out of the boxes here; Clia.ssé 1, through filter presses to be sucked after in containers Jellineclc kidney system which it is concentrated in the vacuum to the. temperature of '-18-50 C, Up to, a con-- ccutra.tion cl' (- tiv iron 37 Baumé.

Finally the liquid el, pumped into reservoirs (the con> ervation in which it is protected against the penetration of air by means of a layer of mineral oil.

It is made up of a concentrated solution of ferruginous calcium polysulphides, which is withdrawn into tin containers to deliver it to the market.

This product is formed mainly by tetrasulfide and penta.sulfide of calcia which are. (the remedies of well-known efficacy against a very large number of in sects and fungal diseases of plants.

The chemical reactions which give rise to it have not yet been fully defined.
