Device for the automatic control of the position of a gas shut-off element by means of a liquid flow, in particular for liquid heaters. The subject matter of the invention is a device for the automatic control of the position of a gas discharge organ by means of a liquid flow, in particular for liquid heaters.
According to the invention, an elongated hollow body is installed in a container intended for the passage of the liquid, which is resiliently movable in the lateral direction, and the position of the gas shut-off device can be determined by means of a transfer that extends into the hollow body and protrudes through the wall of the container - organs are influenced by the movements of the hollow body.
The subject matter of the invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings by an example embodiment.
1 shows the device in vertical section; FIG. 2 shows a detail, and FIG. 3 shows a section along the line III-III of FIG. 1 on a larger scale.
In a cylindrical liquid container 1, a hollow body 2 is installed, w elclher is composed of individual, thin, annular metal disks. The metal disks are flanged on both edges and soldered together. The hollow body, which is sealed me tallically at both ends and rigidly attached to the end walls of the cylindrical housing, has a lateral resilient mobility that increases towards the center. A housing 3 for the entry of liquid is screwed onto the container 1, in which a housing 3 which is closed off from the container by an end wall 5. Nit openings 6 provided and movable in horizontal Richturi g sleeve 4 is guided.
Against the inner wall of the sleeve 4 tightly fitting a second sleeve 7 is arranged on. which is held by arms on a central thread in the wall of the housing 3 adjustably attached pin 8. In the rest position, the end wall 5 rests against the wall of the container 1 formed at this point by the housing 3, which, as can be seen from FIGS. 2 and 3, has recesses. so that the edge rests only in three places 9.
The hollow body 2 is rmllt its middle part supported by an attachment 10 attached to it against the end wall 5 of the sleeve 4: For the lateral limitation of the movement of the hollow body 2, a threaded stop 11 is used. The liquid emerges from the container 1 t through opening 12.
On the upper end wall of the liquid container 1, a cylindrical gas container 13 is aufgescbraul, t, in which the gas can enter through the opening 14 and the opening 15 can exit. A closing element in the form of a valve is arranged in the upper part of the gas container and has a valve body 17 which is rotatably fastened to a hinge 16. The valve body rests on a seat 18 arranged in an inclined plane. To transfer the lateral movement of the hollow body 2 to the valve, a rod 19 is used, which passes through the upper end wall of the liquid container 1 in which it is held in the hollow body 2, lund although up to its middle, protrudes.
At the upper end of the rod 19, a pin 20 is fastened adjustable by thread. a projection 22 fixed to the valve body 17 lies against the hop 21. The sealing of the opening of the container 1 for the passage of the rod 19 is formed directly by the fastening of the hollow body 2 to the upper end wall of the container 1. In front of the valve 17, 18 there is an opening 23 on the gas container which leads to a pilot flame.
The mode of operation of the device is to follow de, it being assumed that it is used for regulating dtes Ca in a liquid flow heater, e.g. B. a gas L, adeofen, is used. In this case, a water line leads from the opening 12 to the gas bath heater. If water is withdrawn from any tap point of the lines coming from the furnace, a one-sided pressure is created against the end wall 5 of the sleeve 4, which has the effect that the sleeve is moved a distance into the container 1. until the openings 6 in the outer surface of the sleeve become free and there, water can thereby pass out of the housing 3 into the container 1, and through the same and through the discharge line 12 free flow to the furnace, respectively. to the taps.
The movement of the sleeve is transmitted by the arrsatz 10 to the hollow body 2, which looks there through in the direction to the stop 11 vainly and its movement through the rod 19 and the parts 20, 21 and 22 on the valve body 17 carries over. This is then lifted from its seat and remains in the open position as long as the water flow through the container 1 lasts. As a result of the opening of the valve, the gas flows through the opening 14 into the container 123 and through the opening 15 to the gas bath heater, where it is ignited by means of the ignition flame fed by the .
As soon as the removal of the water is interrupted, the one-sided pressure on the end wall of the sleeve 4 ceases, and the sleeve is moved back to its rest position by the Fecler effect of the hollow body 2. The opening of the valve 17 and thus the Heizwirlung of the liquid heater is automatically regulated exactly according to the strength of the respective water withdrawal and the resulting size of the movement of the sleeve 4 and the hollow body 2. The effective cross section of the openings 6 can be set by means of the second sleeve 7 arranged within the sleeve, depending on the pressure of the water pipe on which the device is used.
One of the most important points is with the devices, which should serve the same purpose as the invention. the seal of the gas hammer against the liquid chamber. In most arrangements the seal is made by stuffing boxes. Rubber-. Leather or similar seals, which will soon become damaged, especially in all those cases in the factory, and require frequent replacements in which, as in gas bath stoves, the liquid is heated by the gas and the heated liquid flows through the device. Attempts have therefore already been made to avoid the use of such seals.
In one such device, the liquid and gas chamber were sealed by a hollow body formed from a series of metallic membranes. The hollow body also served as the element that was influenced by the flow of liquid and transferred the movements to the gas valve by acting as a spring in the axial direction. These constant movements easily weaken the spring action and become tight.
These disadvantages are avoided by the device described, since with the same the hollow spring is not stretched and shortened in its longitudinal direction, but rather is subjected to bending. Assuming an equal deflection of the gas valve, the movements of the individual membrane members forming the hollow spring and thus the stresses on them are much smaller than in the case of the above-mentioned construction. in which the hollow spring is subjected to a stretching in the axial direction equal to the entire movement of the gas valve. With the described Vorriehtung a lateral deflection of the hollow body middle part of about 3 mm is sufficient to fully open the gas valve.
It can be seen that there is only a slight change in shape and stress on the hollow spring.
The rigid attachment of the hollow body at both ends and the water pressure acting on it evenly when it is at rest is achieved. that it cannot bend without pressure on the shut-off sleeve, which ensures that the device works evenly. The avoidance of any further springs on the device also contributes to this uniformity of the effect in operation.
