Description

Endless chain forming a tread for traction and similar vehicles. This invention relates to an endless chain forming a tread (caterpillar) for tractors and similar vehicles, having the particularity that its running surface is constituted by rubber blocks fixed to the links of the chain so as to be able to be replaced easily. Tractors fitted with chain locks of this type can be driven on all roads without damaging them, and the grip remains sufficient.

The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.

Fig. 1 shows a plan view of two successive links, one with two blocks and the other with a single block; Fig. 2 is a corresponding profile view with parts cut away.

The running surface of the chain- tire shown is constituted by blocks of rubber ab, fixed to the links of the chain, the links c of odd order each carrying a single block of caout chouc a arranged transversely, those, of even order each carrying a pair of smaller rubber blocks 7i spaced apart from each other.

The fixing of these blocks to the mail ons is obtained by means of key frames f 'and bolts d, these fixing means being such due to the blocks being easily replaceable. Of course, these means (the fixing can vary.

The use of a single block on a link and two smaller blocks, spaced from each other, on the neighboring link allows better adhesion of the chain to the ground.
