Description

  Au dessin annexé, donné à titre d'exemple:  La     fig.    1 est une coupe longitudinale  d'une forme d'exécution du dispositif de  jonction mécanique suivant l'invention;  La     fig.    2 en est une vue en bout;  La     fig.    3 est une vue en élévation d'une  pièce qui, lors de la fabrication du dispositif    de jonction, sert à faire un étrier entrant  dans la constitution de ce dispositif;

    La fig. 4 en est une coupe transversale suivant la ligne.1-A de la fig. 3; La fig. 5 est une vue en plan d'une pièce qui, lors de la fabrication du dispositif de jonction, sert à faire un second étrier entrant dans la constitution de ce dispositif.

  Mechanical junction device between two flexible cable ends. In funicular traction systems using flexible cables, to connect the two ends of an endless cable or to repair a cable break, it is necessary to have an extremely robust ball joint system with a very small footprint.

  The invention specifically relates to a mechanical junction device between two flexible cable ends meeting these conditions. This mechanical junction device has the particularity that the two cable ends, which are each provided with an enlarged head obtained by splicing the cable, are retained in two sockets with conical hole which are connected together by two clamps engaged one in the other-and having threaded heads which screw into the sockets and are wedged there.

  In the accompanying drawing, given by way of example: FIG. 1 is a longitudinal section of an embodiment of the mechanical junction device according to the invention; Fig. 2 is an end view; Fig. 3 is an elevational view of a part which, during the manufacture of the junction device, is used to make a stirrup forming part of the constitution of this device;

    Fig. 4 is a transverse section along the line .1-A of FIG. 3; Fig. 5 is a plan view of a part which, during the manufacture of the junction device, is used to make a second caliper entering into the constitution of this device.

  If we refer to the drawing, we see that the mechanical junction device shown comprises two brackets 1 and 2 engaging one into the other and connected respectively to two tapered hole sockets 3 and 4 which each retain one end of the cable thanks to an enlarged head 5 obtained by splicing on this end; les'.parties narrowed of the conical hole of the sockets 3 and 4 are terminated by flares 6 intended to prevent strain hardening of the cable.

   The two brackets 1 and 2 have the ends of their branches in the form of a boss with a half-round section, joined and welded to each other (the other, thus denying cylindrical heads, which are threaded and screwed into a threaded part of the bushes 3 and 4, respectively, the threads of the latter being oriented in opposite directions, they are wedged there by means of taper pins 9.

  To couple the brackets 1 and, we start from the oblong pieces 7 and 8 (fig. 3, 4 and b) having at their ends bosses with a half-round section and which are folded on themselves one in l 'other; the two branches of each of these parts are then applied. quées together, welded to each other, threaded and screwed into sockets 3 and 4, the threads of which are oriented in opposite directions. Conical pins 9 complete the assembly.
