Abschlussorgan.
Closing body. The taps that are still in use today have major defects, in that either the water pressure must be overcome when closing, or the water pressure in the line acts on the valve closure and the pressure must be overcome to open the passage. In both systems, there are inconveniences that lead to rapid deformation of the sealing surfaces and wear.
The subject matter of the present invention forms a closing element, the seal of which is always under the same pressure, which cannot be arbitrarily increased from the outside and whose movement element (here for example a spindle thread with nut) is out of contact with the water and can be easily lubricated.
The subject of the invention is shown in the drawing in an exemplary embodiment. In the housing a with screwed-on upper part b is the valve spindle c with seal d and guide piston e, which is connected to the seal and the spindle in such a way that the three form a rigid whole. Stuffing box seal f, which is held in an annular space under pressure by the nut g, ensures that no water rises upwards along the spindle.
The movement element for the spindle, a thread h, is arranged above the stuffing box seal, that is, outside the area of the water. with nut, which can be brought into rotating motion from the outside with the help of the toggle k.
The screw l with the plate protruding beyond the base of the spindle thread limits the passage of the nut in one direction of movement. The top cap m provided with a lubrication hole p for lubricating the spindle thread limits the movement of the spindle when the closing element is opened. The spring n, as an elastic cal medium, presses the spindle c and its seal d against the seat o.
The spindle c is not rotatable, it can only move in the axial direction and is guided on the one hand in the upper part b and on the other hand with the guide piston e in the lower part of the housing; The guide piston is dimensioned in such a way that the valve is completely relieved of the water pressure prevailing in the lower part A of the valve, so that, for the sake of less than that due to earlier designs, the closing element is loaded solely by an elastic medium when the valve closes is, the strength of which can be measured in such a way that a secure closure is achieved and it is excluded that the closure force can be strengthened from the outside.
If the valve is to be opened, the nut i is rotated in one direction, the spindle c rises until the screw l hits the top cap m, where the stroke is limited; When the valve is closed, the nut i moves in the opposite direction, the spindle c lowers as a result of the action of the elastic medium's (spring) against the seat until the closure is reached. The nut i is locked against unscrewing by screw l.
