Abstract
The present invention describes a technical solution to design a climbing wall or climbing wall modules for indoor or outdoor use on the climbing side in natural stone. The structure and a slight damping of the climbing side can also be influenced by the targeted choice of the natural stones mentioned in this invention, in order to be able to offer the climber different degrees of difficulty and a climbing template closer to the climbing walls in the great outdoors. This approach to the great outdoors is enhanced by the fact that this technical solution also allows the attachment and construction of artificial cracks or indentations or bends, which are also designed in natural stone.
Description
The invention relates to climbing on artificial walls in open, semi-open or closed spaces, essentially the climbing wall and / or the respective climbing wall elements are constructed on the climbing side in such a way that they are partially or completely covered with natural stone .
Natural stone as an artificial climbing wall basis in open, semi-open or closed rooms comes closest to natural climbing outdoors, but has not been used up to now due to the existing technical hurdles.
According to the current state of the art, most of today's commercially used artificial walls for rock climbing (sport climbing) are made of wood with or without a combination of epoxy resin. Climbing holds are then mounted on these walls at irregular intervals, which can usually be easily moved or removed. These climbing holds are used to either hold on with your hands and pull yourself up or to push off with your feet on these climbing holds. The higher the level of difficulty, the smaller the climbing holds are designed. For better grip, the climbing holds are attached to the surface with sand.
The artificial climbing walls are regularly left in the structure of the material used for this purpose, ie the combination of wood and epoxy resin. Concrete elements are also sometimes used, but rarely and more for fixed installations at low climbing levels. Sand is often also applied to the surface of these walls or firmly connected to the base wall in order to create a reinforced friction surface on which the climber can also push off to a certain extent.
NACHTEILE DES STANDES DER TECHNIKDISADVANTAGES OF THE PRIOR ART
A construction of these artificial climbing walls, which are sometimes also completed for mobility from individual elements, has hitherto not been used in combination with natural stone, since this entails considerable technical challenges. On the one hand, the walls should each be self-supporting, which means that they must have a suitable strength-to-weight ratio. On the other hand, the statics work against the attachment of natural stone to a base material, which, according to the safety specifications, must be designed to be break-proof and impact-resistant without the risk of splintering. Merely attaching common stone slabs to the climbing side inevitably leads to breakage and splitting of these stone slabs simply because of the dead weight acting on the slabs below.
In contrast to artificial wall surfaces with a sand coating, the natural stone surface has uneven surface structures, which are of decisive importance for climbing from a higher skill level of the climber, in order to be able to repel these uneven surface structures to a certain extent. This is the closest thing to climbing in nature. In contrast, today's artificial wall surfaces with or without a sand coating do not have such a natural repellent surface.
Up until now, there has been no known climbing wall construction which, for the above reasons, uses natural stone slabs on the climbing surface or overall.
Furthermore, due to the current construction of the climbing walls, there is hardly any shock absorption, the walls are designed to be relatively hard, since according to the current state of the art only wooden panels are glued with epoxy resin.
LÖSUNG DER AUFGABENSTELLUNGSOLUTION OF THE TASK
The present technical solution combines a thin and flexible natural stone slab of ideally about 1.5mm to a maximum of 5mm thickness as the outer material with several layers of suitable wooden panels glued together with or without epoxy resin layers as the base support to form a climbing wall that can be used vertically, can be combined and screwed together -Elements.
In the context of the present invention, suitable natural stone slabs include all veneers from the class of natural, real slate stones.
The present technical solution thus enables the production and construction of natural stone climbing wall elements, which thus come considerably closer to climbing in nature on natural stone walls and thus bring about a significant increase in the reality simulation.
Furthermore, this technical solution can also be used to simulate natural-looking rock cracks and rocky outcrops, which are essential for the upward movement in sport climbing. The outer walls attached with the natural stone slab in question according to this invention can be designed in two or three dimensions, because the natural stone can also be bent to a certain extent (practical for friction climbing).
Another advantage of this invention is the possibility of combining it with a cork board and/or with permanently elastic adhesives, which are placed between the natural stone board and the base support made of wood or wood/epoxy resin composite or fiberglass in order to ensure a certain shock absorption in the event of a hard impact guarantee.
