Detailed Description of the Preferred Embodiments:

The invention relates to a clasp 1 for bracelet 2 of watches or jewelery or jewelery. This bracelet 2 comprises at least one strand 3: it can be a single strand 3 constituting a loop, and which is attached on both sides to this clasp 1, or two strands 3, 3A, connected each on the one hand to an object, in particular a watch, and on the other hand to the clasp 1. In one case as in the other, the bracelet 2 comprises on the side of the clasp 1 a first end 4 of strand and a second end 5 of strand. In a variant not illustrated by the figures, these first unlocking means 21 are coupled with these second unlocking means 22, to simultaneously unlock the first winding means 11 and the second winding means 12, by an action performed indifferently on the first unlocking means 21 or on the second unlocking means 22.

The clasp 1 preferably comprises at least one unlocking pusher 23, to unlock the mechanism and allow traction on at least one of the bracelet strands. The length of the bracelet can thus be adjusted, as well as the position of the clasp 1 relative to the watch.

Thus, in a preferred embodiment illustrated by the figures, the unlocking means 20 comprise at least one unlocking pushbutton 23 for unlocking by the user and to allow traction on at least the first end 4 of strand or the second end 5 of strand. For maximum compactness, compatible with the deployment or winding of a large length of strand, in particular about 200 mm, the winding means 10 comprise at least one spring-loaded barrel 30, or 31, or 32, which cooperates with a winding shaft 40, or 41, or 42, around which winds the first end 4 strand or the second end 5 strand. In the figures, the first winding means 11 comprise at least a first spring barrel 31 which cooperates with a first winding shaft 41 around which the first end 4 strand wound. In the same way, the second winding means 12 comprise at least one spring-loaded barrel 32 which cooperates with a second winding shaft 42 around which the second end of strand 2 wraps. The behavior of each barrel 31 or 32 is similar, and is described below generally.

In a particular version, each shaft has a barrel at one end, and a gear at the other end. The two shafts are head to tail, a pusher on each side of the clasp comprises a finger, which is designed to cooperate with the toothed wheel facing it, to release or block the shaft, and therefore the corresponding bracelet strand.

Regarding each cylinder 30, one end of the mainspring (not shown in the figures) is carried by the drum, and the other by the shaft. The drum can thus be worn either by the shaft or by a bridge or the like: in a first variant, the shaft 40 carries the first strand end 4 or the second strand end 5 between the spring-loaded barrel 30 which carries the shaft 40 concerned, and its toothed wheel 43. Thus the first shaft 41 carries the first end 4, between the first barrel 31 and its toothed wheel 43, and the second shaft 42 carries the second end 5 between the second barrel 32 and its toothed wheel 43A; in a second variant, the shaft 40 carries the first strand end 4 or the second strand end 5 between, on the one hand, the spring-loaded barrel 30 that carries a bridge 51 or 51A, or a lateral stretcher 52, 52A, the clasp 1, and secondly the toothed wheel 43 associated with this shaft 40.

As visible in FIG. 9, the at least one finger 24 is carried by a lever 25 movable axially and controlled by the unlocking pusher 23.

The unlocking pusher 23, 23A, on each side of the clasp 1 controls the movement of such a finger 24 arranged to cooperate with the toothed wheel 43 which faces it, to release or block I 'shaft 40 carrying the toothed wheel 43, and therefore the corresponding end of strand.

As visible in FIGS. 2 and 6, the clasp 1 comprises at least one, here two in the version illustrated by the figures, two spring pins 70, mounted parallel to the shafts 41 and 42 between opposite bridges 51, 51A. These axes 70 each bear, and on each of its sides, bearing on shoulders 72, a spring 71 mounted in compression between this shoulder and the end of the axis facing the respective bridge. Each spring is mounted with a preload of about 1.5 mm, and opposes the corresponding lever 25.

In the particular arrangement of the figures, preferred because of its compactness, the first winder 11 comprises at least a first spring barrel 31 which cooperates with a first winding shaft 41 around which the first end 4 is wound of strand, the second winder 12 comprises at least one second spring-loaded barrel 32 which cooperates with a second winder shaft 42 around which the second strand end 5 is wound, and the first winding shaft 41 and the second shaft winder 42 are mounted parallel and head to tail.

The drives between barrels and shafts, between shafts and toothed wheels, are made in a conventional manner with complementary profiles, in particular of square section, as visible in FIG. 2, and are designed to facilitate the mounting of the clasp 1.

The production of drums 33, 34, integrally with the bridges 51, 51 A respectively, allows to start the assembly by laying the spring in the drum of a first bridge, and the closure of this drum by a cover 35, 36. The clasp 1 preferably comprises a housing 500 in two parts: a bottom 56, and a cover 57. The first bridge thus prepared is mounted on the bottom 56, then the lever 25 and the locking finger 24 corresponding are mounted in place, and the axes 70 equipped with their springs 71. Preferably, the finger 24, respectively 24A, is secured to the lever 25, respectively 25A.

It is then possible to mount the winding shafts 11 and 12 provided with their locking gears 43, 43A. the mounting continues with the equipment of the opposite cylinder of the bridge, the mounting of the lever and the corresponding locking pin, and the mounting of the second bridge on the bottom 56. The ends of strands 4 and 5 are then fixed in a slot 44 between a flat part of the shaft 41, 42 respectively, and a holding plate 45, 45A, clamped on this shaft by screws 46, 46A.

The bottom 56 and the cover 57 define together, on each side of the clasp 1, a slot 55 for the passage of the corresponding strand. The cover 57 is then mounted, and the assembly is completed by fixing the first, then the second stretcher 52, 52A equipped with pushers 23, 23A, respectively. A circlip X holds each pusher 23, 23A in place. These stretchers advantageously comprise transparent windows 54, 54A for optical verification of the components without disassembly. These windows face portholes A, B, formed in the bridges 51, 51 A, visible in FIG. 2.

We could combine the shafts 52, 52A and the bridges 51, 51 A, so as to have only one structural component on each side of the clasp 1. The illustrated configuration was chosen because of its ease of mounting.

The or the strands 3 preferably comprise stop fingers 9, 9A, as visible in FIG. 1, which prevents any blockage of the mechanism when the windings are full.

Advantageously for weight saving and improved aesthetics, the barrel drums 33, 34 are skeletons. All components of clasp 1 are made of stainless material.
