Abstract

This device comprises: one or more removable fastening elements (10) for removably attaching to said book during the duration of the reading, a microphone (M) arranged to record the one or more stories and generate a corresponding digital audio file, a memory digital device for storing said digital audio file, a loudspeaker (H) for outputting an audio signal corresponding to said digital audio file according to a selection of a user haptic control members (20; 30; V; O; R; 40; 42; 44) and a microcontroller executing a computer control program. However, today it is increasingly difficult for parents or grandparents to have time to read stories. In addition, the child, even if he has listened to a story by his parents, for example, may have the desire to listen to it several times, identical to the first time. Such repetitive listening to a text, in addition to reading, is also an extremely effective aid in learning to read.

We know in the prior art devices that can be attached to a book and allow an adult to record a story: the child can then, in the absence of the adult, listen to this story at home. using one of these devices, which reproduce the recorded voice of the adult. These known devices have disadvantages, however, linked in particular to the difficulty of paging stories. In practice, the recording of the adult voice is interrupted at the end of each page read to allow the reader to go to the next page and associate a separate digital audio file with each page of the book. This way when the child uses the device, he can turn the page of the book and select the audio file corresponding to this page. The recording therefore does not allow the adult or the narrator to perform a flexible or lively reading, like that which he would do without the device, since he must stop page by page to execute pagination methods or recording.

Document US 6,985,693 (Kirwan) describes a removable device that can be combined with a book to record and play back the reading of the stories in this book, comprising buttons corresponding to the pages and allowing playback of accompanying musical recordings in at the same time as the reproduction of an audio file corresponding to the reading of the stories. This device makes it possible to record only one page at a time, thus obliging the narrator to stop page by page to execute the page break modalities. In addition, the device only stores audio files corresponding to a single story, since each new file is saved over the old file, which is therefore overwritten. Finally, the device described does not allow easy switching from a playback / playback mode to a recording mode and vice versa, since the button which allows this passage is made inaccessible to the user's finger.

Document US Pat. No. 6,421,524 describes a device for recording and reproducing text readings by a familiar voice, associated with books, some of whose pages include printed circuits. This device therefore cannot be used with any book, but only in combination with books whose pages include printed circuits.

Document US 2008 0 254 427 describes a book with a fixed device for recording and reproducing audio data. This device is integrated into the book and cannot be combined with another book. The device includes buttons corresponding to the pages and allowing the recording of one page of the book at a time. A USB port allows the import of additional audio files.

Document US 5,577,918 describes a device that can be coupled to any medium and allows the reproduction of a single recorded voice message. A new message deletes the previous message. This device does not allow the insertion of pagination marks in the digital audio file corresponding to the recorded message.

Document US 6,167,233 describes a device which can be removably coupled to a book. This device is intended to record a plurality of discreet messages, each message being associated with a page of the book.

There is therefore a need for a device and a precedent for recording and rendering one or more stories which are more ergonomic and easier to handle than the devices of the prior art or the methods used. by these devices.

In particular, there is a need for a device and a method for recording and rendering one or more stories read by a narrator, each story comprising on one or more pages of a book to which this device is fixed removably, which allows the narrator to perform a flexible or lively reading, identical to that which he would do without a device, without interruptions after each page to perform pagination or more generally recording methods.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to provide a device and a method for recording and restoring one or more read stories free from the above-mentioned limitations of known devices and methods .

Example (s) of embodiment of the invention The device according to the invention constitutes an audio interface between a book to which it is removably attached and its reader, henceforth named user, which can be a child or n no matter what person. Its main function is that of recording with the aid of a microphone digital audio files corresponding to stories read by a narrator, for example an adult, and stored in the form of digital audio files in its digital memory and to restore to the Using loudspeaker audio signals corresponding to these files. The combination of listening in a familiar voice with the consultation of the images and the text printed in the book represents a way of learning, for example learning to read or a foreign language, which is very effective, especially for children.

The device 1 illustrated in FIG. 1 include a microphone Μ arranged to record the story (s) read by a narrator and generate a corresponding digital audio file. In a variant, the microcontroller comprises the digital memory or a part of this digital memory, for example the part in which the computer programs are stored.

The device according to the invention can be removably attached using one or more removable fastening elements 10 to any book of any size. These removable fastening elements 10 may include clips, adhesive or Velcro type tapes, magnetic elements, glue, screws to be inserted into book holes or any other removable locking mechanism.

In the variant illustrated in FIG. 2, the removable fastener 10 is a side slot, the thickness of which allows attachment to a cover or page of virtually any book. In the variant illustrated, the length of the slot is equal to the length of one side of the device 1, however shorter lengths can be provided. In the example of fig. 2, the device has a part 12 of curved shape intended to cover a portion on and under the page or the cover to which the device is fixed. This convex portion 12 is advantageously devoid of any buttons and any haptic means: in this way the other pages of the book can cover the part 12 without hiding or preventing the use of the haptic means of the device 1.

The book is clamped in the slot of the device by means of elastic elements, for example two leaf springs extending in the longitudinal direction of the slot, one connected to a surface 10 'of the blade, shown in fig. 3, and the other on the opposite surface 10. - The references V, O and R indicate haptic control members which, in a preferred variant, have a different shape and / or color, because they are intended to perform different functions illustrated below. For example, the reference V can correspond to a green key, the reference 0 to an orange key and the reference R to a red key. These three keys have different functions depending on the mode selected.

In restitution mode the V key validates the operations performed by the user, the O key introduces a pause during restitution and the R key stops the restitution.

In recording mode the V key marks the start of either recording or editing, the O key allows you to enter pagination marks (pagination key) and to edit a digital audio file, the R key marks either the end of the recording is of the edition.

The book associated with the device can have a printed label, integrated or pasted afterwards by the user himself and which makes it possible to uniquely identify the book and its pagination in order to find the corresponding audio file. This label can include a unique identification code or an RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tag. In this variant, the device includes an RFID tag reader, not illustrated, arranged to read, once the device is attached to the book, the RFID tag associated with the book, in order to reproduce the story or stories corresponding to one or more pages of the book .

In another variant, the label consists of the ISBN (International Standard Book Number) code of the book, which is often printed or pasted on the book in the form of a bar code.

The restitution of one or more stories read by a narrator, corresponding to one or more pages of a book, is carried out in a simple way since it is intended to be used in particular by children. For this reason, once the device 1 removably attached to the book and engaged using the key for engagement 500 (power key), the device 1 is automatically calibrated in reading or playback mode, except if it is voluntarily brought into the recording mode by the sliding button 400 or by a combination of two or more haptic control members. In a preferred variant, the combination of an alphanumeric key, for example the key which corresponds to the "O" key, with another key, for example the R key, is used to switch to recording mode. By pressing the V key, a voice recording of the title, corresponding to the voice of the person who recorded the book or narrator, is played before the reading of the story begins. If the book does not include an RFID tag, the child simply has to type using the keys 20 the code corresponding to this book, for example his ISBN.

Advantageously, the device 1 can include several versions of the same book, for example once read by the mother and once read by the father: in this case a voice announcement lists all the versions available, indicating the alphanumeric key 20 to be pressed to select the desired version. The title of the book can also be stored in the audio file, see in the RFID tag, and converted into an audio file by a voice synthesizer.

Once the restitution begins, to move to a particular page, the child can dial the number of this page using the keys 20 and validate the number with the V key.

During the restitution of a page, the child can return to the beginning of the page being read by pressing the key 42 (left arrow) once, he can also jump pages or go back in pressing key 44 (right arrow) and 42 (left arrow) respectively as many times as he wishes to go forward or back.

The child also has the possibility of listening repeatedly to an audio signal corresponding to a page. To do this, he can select key 40 or, if this key is not present, press keys 42 and 44 simultaneously.

In restitution mode, the O key is used to introduce the "Pause" function, the R key to introduce the "Stop" function.

To access the recording mode, simply manipulate the slide button or record key 400 preferably after having fixed the device 1 on the desired book. In another variant, it suffices to touch two or more haptic control members simultaneously. In the case where the book does not contain an RFID tag, after having started the recording mode, the user must enter using the keys 20 the code of the chosen book and validate it with the key 30. In a variant after this validation, the device emits a voice confirmation.

Advantageously, the device 1 according to the invention makes it possible to record the book continuously without the narrator having to stop. The narrator can thus perform a flexible and lively reading, identical to that which he would do without a device, without having to interrupt page by page to execute recording methods.

The introduction of the pagination marks in the digital audio file generated by the narrator is made a posteriori by means of the pagination key O. The introduction of pagination causes during the restitution a signal indicating to the child that he must turn the page, for example a visual signal and / or an audio signal such as the sound of a page-turning bell or any other appropriate sound. It is also possible to use for this purpose the voice of the narrator, recorded at a time different from the recitation of the story, to announce the page number or the page break to be performed. Alternatively, these audio signals are generated by a speech synthesizer. In other words, the paging key O makes it possible to introduce metadata associated with determined instants of the digital audio file, which are interpreted by the computer control program executed by the microcontroller of the device 1 in order to determine the position in the file digital audio of page breaks and of generating audio or visual signals during playback indicating to the reader that he must turn the page.

Pressing the V key marks the start of either recording or editing. This button may flash during actual recording or editing.

Pressing the R key marks either the end of the recording or the end of the edition. When this button is pressed, the V key stops flashing.

Pressing the 30 key marks the final validation of all the text read and the editing procedures performed. This operation is irreversible, the book then being validated.

On the last page of the book, editing is finalized in pressing the R key instead of the V key. At this time, automatic listening of the edited text starts. If the reciter is satisfied, he can validate the edition using the 30 key.

During editing, if the final validation by the key 30 has not been carried out, it is possible to erase the page which one wishes to erase and to re-save it.

To delete, simply modify the editing operation by pressing the trash can button 50, which begins to flash: at this moment a voice signal announces: "Do you really want to delete the page ...?" .Pressing the button 30, the erasure is effective and the trash button 50 goes off.

To re-record the page, simply enter the page number to be re-recorded with the keys 20 and press the O key (edit mode) then the V key, which can start to flash: the recording can start. The end of the recording is determined by pressing the R key. Automatic listening to the new re-recorded page starts: if the narrator is satisfied with his interpretation, he can validate his page by pressing the 30 key.

In a variant, in order to be able to re-edit the digital audio file or to edit it the first time, it is possible to associate the device 1 with an audio editing program executed by an external computer, for example a PC. To this end, the device 1 comprises a disconnection interface 100, for example a USB, IrDA, Ethernet, IEEE 802.11 b / g / n, Bluetooth, etc. interface. to be able to connect to a computer not shown and to exchange digital audio files to be edited or edited. In another variant, it is possible to store in the digital memory of the device 1 digital audio files corresponding to the recording with the device 1 of the voice of a narrator and also digital audio files recorded with means other than the device 1 and which can be inserted into the digital memory using the connection interface 100. It is thus possible to have for the same book a version recorded by one of the parents at home using the device 1 as well as another version recorded by actors and downloaded into the device by its connection 100 to a computer. In these cases, the device 1 asks its user which version is desired when it comes into contact with the RFID tag of the book or the code corresponding to the book or its IBAN is inserted. The choice of version is made using the device keys 1 or other keys not shown.

The device in a variant comprises a screen E which makes it possible to display the words or the numbers typed using the alphanumeric keys 20 or to read the title of the book when it is inserted through these keys 20. In a another variant the screen E is a touch screen, comprising all the haptic means of the device.

The device 1 may include a locking button, not shown, in order to prevent the user (for example a child) from using certain keys in playback and / or recording mode.

In another variant, the device does not include keys, but means for introducing corresponding voice commands, which will be recognized interpreted by the device 1.

The keys in the variant illustrated in FIGS. 2 to 4 do not understand words or letters, but only universally known symbols or numbers, the aim being to make a device with a universal language, understandable by any person. The order of the numbers on the alphanumeric keys allows the device user, for example a child, to be used easily and immediately.

All the keys as well as the LEDs are integrated in the device 1 and, as illustrated in FIG. 3, their height is negligible compared to the thickness of the device 1. Seals not shown or other suitable means guarantee the device is sealed in correspondence with the keys.

In a preferred variant, the lateral part 16 of the device 1, illustrated in FIG. 3, contains an image of a side view of a book, therefore an image comprising superimposed pages, so as to make the device 1 a "virtual continuation" of the book to which it is clipped.

In a variant, the device is supplied with one or more batteries, not shown. Seals not shown guarantee the watertightness of the device in correspondence with the battery or batteries. The batteries can be rechargeable. In another variant, the device can be connected, through a transformer, to a conventional electrical outlet.

Device (1) for recording and playing back one or more stories read by a narrator, corresponding to one or more pages of a book, comprising: one or more removable fastening elements (10) for detachably fixing said device (1) to said book for the duration of the reading of the story or stories, a microphone (Μ) arranged to record the story or stories and generate a file corresponding digital audio, a digital memory for storing said digital audio file, a loudspeaker (H) for reproducing an audio signal corresponding to said digital audio file according to a selection of a user, haptic control members (20; 30; V; O; R; 40; 42; 44), a microcontroller executing a computer program for controlling said device (1), characterized in that said haptic control elements (20; 30; V; O; R; 40; 42 ; 44) include a pagination element (O) allowing said narrator to introduce pagination marks into said digital audio file. 2. Device according to claim 1, in which said digital memory is arranged to store a first code corresponding to said book, and in which said haptic control members (20; 30; V; O; R; 40; 42; 44) comprise elements (20; 30) arranged to introduce a second code so as to select said digital audio file if the second code corresponds to the first code. 3. Device according to one of claims 1 or 2, wherein said digital memory is arranged to store a third code of a first RFID tag, said device comprising an RFID tag reader arranged to read a second RFID tag associated with said book, so as to select said digital audio file if the second RFID tag corresponds to the first RF1D tag. 4. Device according to one of claims 1 to 3, said haptic control members (20; 30; V; O; R; 40; 42; 44) comprising elements (20; 30; V) for entering a number of page or page numbers of said book so as to select a part respectively of the parts of the digital audio file corresponding to one or more pages to be restored. 5. Device according to one of claims 1 to 4, said haptic control members (20; 30; V; O; R; 40; 42; 44) further comprising elements (40; 42; 44) for passing from one pagination mark in said digital audio file to another. 6. Device according to one of claims 1 to 5, said haptic control members (20; 30; V; O; R; 40; 42; 44) further comprising an element (50) for erasing digital audio files corresponding to an entire book or parts of digital audio files corresponding to one or more pages of said book. 7. Method for recording and restoring one or more stories read by a narrator, corresponding to one or more pages of a book, comprising - removable attachment to said book of a recording and restitution device (1); - recording by means of a microphone (Μ) of said one or more stories read by a narrator and generation of a corresponding digital audio file; - storage in a digital memory of said digital audio file; - reproduction by a loudspeaker (H) of an audio signal corresponding to said digital audio file; characterized in that: during a restitution, pagination marks are introduced into said digital audio file by means of a pagination element (O); during at least one subsequent restitution, said pagination marks are interpreted by a microcontroller so as to signal to a user that he must turn the page of said book. 8.
