La roue à colonnes (71) comprend au moins deux étages superposés, un premier des étages étant agencé pour contrôler le mouvement du ou des marteaux (81) et un second étage coopérant avec un bec du fouet (70) pour piloter les déplacements de celui-ci lors du lancement et de l'arrêt du balancier (46).
