<tb>Fig. 2<sep>zeigt eine Ansicht eines erfindungsgemässen Aktuators für zwei Stellungen;
<tb>Fig. 3<sep>zeigt ein Diagramm der Magnetfelder im Aktuator gemäss Fig. 2 bei Anregung;
<tb>Fig. 4<sep>zeigt eine Ansicht von oben (Fig. 4a) und von unten (Fig. 4b) eines Aktuators;
<tb>Fig. 5<sep>zeigt ein Magnetfelddiagramm des Aktuators gemäss Fig. 4 in einer Arbeitsstellung;

Denkbar sind u.a. folgende Abwandlungen:
Anordnung des Rückstellkreises 17 in einem Winkel zu allen magnetischen Antriebskreisen, d.h. keiner der Antriebskreise erzeugt ein Magnetfeld parallel zu demjenigen des Rückstellkreises durch den Rotor;
Anordnung der Antriebskreise gegeneinander und/oder bezüglich des Rückstellkreises in anderen Winkeln als 90 ;
Unterteilung des Rotors derart, dass im Extremfall für jeden magnetischen Kreis (Antriebskreise 12 bzw. 37, 38;
The present invention relates to an actuator for vehicle headlights according to the preamble of claim 1.
Vehicle headlamps can usually be switched between two light characteristics, namely high beam and low beam. Recently, this adjustment devices are installed in the vehicle headlamps, which change the beam properties of the light beam emitted by the headlamp. These adjusting devices are electrically driven by actuators. Recent developments in the lighting technology for vehicles go to provide additional addition to the two types of light.
According to a new regulation, e.g. additional light types the "city light" and the "motorway light".
The current bi-state setting devices are based e.g. on a mask, which is movable to an upper position (high beam) and a lower position (low beam). This movement is accomplished by a magnetic drive that moves between two stops. However, any such movement is associated with a sound when it hits the respective stop.
Other systems in which a diaphragm is moved by a motor drive are known from the documents DE-A-19 739 089, DE-A-4 335 286 and EP-A-1 350 670.
However, with the exception of the latter, the systems have no function which, in the event of an error, i. in case of failure of the control of the drive, ensuring a return to an approved type of light, e.g. Dimmed headlights. In EP-A-1 350 670, such a function is realized by a spring which, in the event of a power failure, retracts the actuator to a basic position. However, such a mechanical system has the disadvantage of introducing an additional active component which is fundamentally different from other drives. In addition, there is also the danger that the spring through the frequent movement processes is aging, loses tension or even breaks.
The actuator may also move only against the spring force in a direction away from the home position, a rotational movement beyond the stop out in the other direction is excluded.
An object of the present invention is to provide an actuator for adjusting the light characteristic of a vehicle headlamp, which has a better integrated into the drive concept fail-safe.
Such an actuator is specified in claim 1. Preferred embodiments will be apparent from the dependent claims.
Accordingly, the actuator according to the invention is characterized in that its drive comprises a rotatable rotor which can be rotated by an electromagnetically excited magnetic field in different positions.
An additional portion of the rotor, or generally an additional movable member coupled to the rotor, forms a two-pole permanent magnet oriented perpendicular to the axis of rotation. This element of the rotor is arranged in the region of a permanently existing magnetic field which is also perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the element.
It is e.g. generated by a magnetic circuit consisting essentially of a permanent magnet and yokes leading to the element.
Due to the interaction with said element and the magnetic field, a rest position of the rotor is defined, in which the rotor aligns according to the magnetization of the element, in particular when the excitation fails in the electromagnetically excited part.
The invention will be further illustrated by embodiments with reference to figures:
<Tb> FIG. 1 <sep> shows a headlamp unit with adjustable light characteristic;
<Tb> FIG. 2 <sep> shows a view of an actuator according to the invention for two positions;
<Tb> FIG. 3 <sep> shows a diagram of the magnetic fields in the actuator according to FIG. 2 during excitation;
<Tb> FIG. Figure 4 shows a top view (Figure 4a) and bottom (Figure 4b) of an actuator;
<Tb> FIG. 5 <sep> shows a magnetic field diagram of the actuator according to FIG. 4 in a working position;
<Tb> FIG. FIG. 6 shows in a plot of the positioning torque over the working position different working positions of an actuator according to FIG. 4; FIG.
<Tb> FIG. 7a-7h <sep> show the magnetic field conditions in the different working positions of the actuator according to FIG. 4.
Fig. 1 shows a headlamp unit 1 with a reflector 2, in front of the opening of the device for adjusting the light characteristic is mounted. It consists of a frame 3, in which a diaphragm shaft 4 is rotatably mounted. The shutter shaft is designed according to the requirements to adjust the different light characteristics. This detail is not shown here. The diaphragm shaft 4 is driven by the actuator 5 via a play-free coupling 6.
In the actuator 5 is located next to a gear an electric motor drive.
Apart from the electric motor drive all the above components can be performed in a conventional manner and a detailed illustration is therefore omitted. As will be described later, since the electromotive drive, or motor for short, is provided with means for returning to a rest position, no action is otherwise required in the overall arrangement for this purpose.
Fig. 2 shows schematically the drive system of an inventively designed engine 10. It comprises a rotor 11, which is radially magnetized here two poles. In the upper part, the drive section, the rotor 11 is part of an electrically energizable magnetic circuit. The electromagnetic circuit comprises, in addition to the yokes 13, 14, a coil 15.
Depending on the current direction in the coil 15 so that the rotor can be rotated by excitation of the magnetic drive circuit 12 in two different positions. This drive is thus suitable for vehicle headlights, in which at most two settings are provided in addition to a basic setting.
The default is taken by the rotor 11 when the magnetic drive circuit 12 is not energized. The lower portion of the rotor 11 forms part of the magnetic return circuit 17. It consists of two yokes 18 and 19 adjacent to said portion of the rotor 11, between which a permanent magnet 20 is arranged to form a permanently energized magnetic circuit.
As shown in Fig. 2, so that the rotor 11 is always in the position shown when the drive circuit 12 is not energized.
Fig. 3 shows a field diagram with energized drive circuit for the arrangement of FIG. 2. The ordinate 23 symbolizes the orientation at rest. On it is therefore the arrow 24 indicating the direction and strength of the (magnetic) field of the reset circuit at the location of the rotor 11. The interaction between the magnetization of the rotor and the permanently excited magnetic reset circuit results in a torque which acts on the rotor 11 and increases with increasing deviation of the rotor position from the rest position.
Accordingly, located on the abscissa 25 of the arrow 26, the amount and direction of the field, which generates the electromagnetically excited drive circuit on the rotor.
From the set up by the field arrows 24 and 26 parallelogram 27 results in the resulting magnetic field 28 which acts on the rotor 11 and causes a rotation about the angle 29 from the rest position out. By energizing the coil 15 with a current in the reverse direction also results in a reversal of the field arrow 26 and thus a reflection of the field parallelogram 27 at the ordinate 23rd
Accordingly, such reverse excitation of the drive circuit 12 causes counterclockwise rotation through the angle.
Furthermore, it can be derived from FIG. 3 that the angle 29 can be changed by the intensity of the excitation of the drive circuit 12.
4 shows in a view from above (FIG. 4 a) and at the bottom (FIG. 4 b) the drive unit 30 for an actuator 5.
Functionally matching with the above-described embodiment parts are provided therein with the same reference numerals.
The drive unit 30 comprises a reset system which is formed substantially identical to the drive described above: A permanently excited magnetic reset circuit with a permanent magnet 20, yokes 18 and 19 and a correspondingly two-pole radially magnetized portion 32 of the rotor 33rd
The rotor 33 further includes the drive section 35. It also represents a radially magnetized permanent magnet, but has three pairs of poles according to FIG. 4. However, other pole pair numbers are conceivable, e.g. four or even two. The drive section 35 is part of two electromagnetic drive circuits 37 and 38.
With this arrangement, a plurality of working positions of the rotor 32 can be adjusted by energizing the coils 40 (first electromagnetic drive circuit 37) and 41 (second electromagnetic drive circuit 38). With the present magnetization with a plurality of pole pairs, a drive with a plurality of current changes in the coils 40, 41 is necessary to achieve certain positions, as is known from the operation of stepper motors. On a representation of this control is therefore not discussed in detail.
In Fig. 5 is a field diagram of the drive unit according to FIG. 4 in a representation analogous to FIG. 3 is shown. Correspondingly, identical elements of the illustration bear the same reference numerals as in FIG. 3.
The abscissa 25 symbolizes the direction of the field arrow 45 of the first electromagnetic drive circuit 37, which acts perpendicular to the reset circuit 17 on the rotor 33. Force arrow 46 symbolizes the field of the second drive circuit 38, which is aligned parallel to the reset circuit 17.
The field arrows 45, 46 of the two drive circuits 37, 38 clamp a parallelogram 48, from which the resulting drive field 49 results. From the field 49 and the field 24 of the reset circle 70 results in the field parallelogram 27 with the resulting field 28 at the location of the rotor 33rd
The field 33 thus causes the rotation by the angle 29 in the clockwise direction from the rest position.
In Fig. 7, the various possible field combinations of a drive unit according to FIG. 4 are shown.
In this illustration, only the resulting field 49 of the forces of the fields of the drive circuits 37, 38, the field 24 of the reset circuit and the resulting field 28 is shown in each case. In this case, it is assumed in FIG. 7 that the coils 40, 41 are each energized in such a way that the resulting drive field part 49 has a constant length and thus moves on the circle 51.
The resulting total field 28 thus varies between a largest value (Fig. 7b, h) and a minimum value shown in Fig. 7e in which the reset field 24 is opposite to the resulting drive field 49.
Fig. 6 shows the various operating positions of the drive in a plot of the position against the drive torque, which is applied in the respective position of the drive circuits. The central region 53 is the range of settings in which there is a risk of glare through the headlight (glare area). The left area 55 is the non-dazzling area for right-hand traffic, the area 57 is that of the non-dazzling settings for left-hand traffic.
It follows already that with a suitable design of the provision for influencing the luminous characteristic simply by driving the actuator, the vehicle headlights can be operated in accordance with the requirements for right or left traffic, without mechanical changes to the headlights are necessary.
Et al This also results in a significant simplification in the production.
The settings are in detail:
60: City light (right and left traffic)
61: low beam (right-hand traffic)
62: low beam (left-hand traffic)
63: motorway light (right-hand traffic)
64: motorway light (left-hand traffic)
65: unused
66:
High beam (right and left traffic)
From a comparison of the embodiments shown in Fig. 2 and Fig. 4, also a modularity of the concept becomes clear: e.g. For example, by replacing the rotor and omitting the second electromagnetic drive circuit 38 which generates a magnetic field in parallel with the reset circuit 17, a changeover between a multi-position drive and a two-position drive can already be interchanged.
Further advantages and features of the described embodiment are:
The different positions are defined as equilibrium positions from the interaction of the magnetic fields.
Stops or other mechanical means that generate noise when intervening, namely when impact on a stop, and are changeable or adjustable with effort, are not necessary.
The actuators are compact and suitable for high temperatures.
Closed and thus protected system.
Easy to adapt to different requirements regarding number of adjustable positions, thus higher standardization of components.
From the foregoing description of embodiments of the skilled person various modifications are accessible, without departing from the scope of the invention, which is defined by the claims.
Conceivable are u.a. following modifications:
Arrangement of the reset circuit 17 at an angle to all magnetic drive circuits, i. none of the drive circuits generates a magnetic field parallel to that of the reset circuit through the rotor;
Arrangement of the drive circuits against each other and / or with respect to the reset circuit at angles other than 90;
Subdivision of the rotor such that in the extreme case for each magnetic circuit (drive circuits 12 and 37, 38;
Reset circuit 17) a separate rotor magnet is provided on a common axis or e.g. the reset magnet, i. the movable element of the return circuit, essentially forms its own rotor, which is connected via a gear (gears, timing belt or the like) to the drive rotor, which is under the action of the drive circuits.
The angular pole pair for the rotor part of the reset circuit can also be realized by axial magnetization instead of by radial magnetization. In the simplest case, two axially magnetized half cylinders are magnetically assembled in antiparallel to a cylinder.
In particular, by a rotor can be made, which is part of a drive circuit and a reset circuit, the pole pairs of the rotor at the two ends of the cylinder formed with increasing expression to this out, but with anti-parallel arrangement, are formed.
