The invention relates to a system for water treatment and drinking water production with a suction and pump device for supplying water and several filter arrangements for water purification.
Especially in the case of natural disasters, but also in many other cases, it is necessary to provide water treatment plants quickly and easily so that the most important chances of survival can be seized. Drinking water is a basic need, and it is always a problem to provide water in the appropriate quantity and quality.
The invention has set itself the task of creating a system of the type mentioned, which is simple and above all effective to use and can still be easily transported to the application sites.
According to the invention, this is achieved by a first pumping device for sucking in the dirty water, a sand filter being inserted into the supply line to a storage container, and by a second pumping device for sucking in the water from the storage tank, a sterilizing filter through which the water is connected downstream of this second pumping device is directly in front of the tap for drinking water.
Due to the simple construction, the system according to the invention can also be transported in a simple manner and can be operated without any energy connections. With a delivery volume of around fifteen to twenty liters per minute, a relatively large amount of filtered and sterilized water can be made available. It is also essential that handling is possible without special training. A transport e.g. Using helicopters is possible in a simple manner, so that disaster areas and other emergency regions can be served quickly. With a sand filter, the dirty water can be filtered and proven constructions can be used for the necessary disinfection, e.g. Katadyn candles.
It is also proposed that the first pump device be designed as a hand pump that can be operated via a swivel lever. In this context it is further advantageous that the second pump device is designed as a piston diaphragm pump provided with a crank drive. This enables complete manual operation. With necessary detachments (muscle strength), 24-hour operation is possible without problems with the system according to the invention. Pumps from the range for civil protection and shipping can be used, which usually have a special structure and require practically no maintenance.
It is further proposed that three-way valves are assigned to the first pump device on the input and output side, these three-way valves being connected to the pump device by a bypass line. It is also advantageously provided that the sand filter can be backwashed from the storage container via the bypass line, the first pump device and the two three-way valves. Thanks to this special design, the sand filter can be backwashed even when the system is operating, far from functioning energy connections. It is therefore also possible to clean the sand filter at the required intervals, again here too, thanks to the very simple construction of the arrangement of the storage container, the bypass line, the two three-way valves and the first pump device.
In order to have additional pressure potential available during the backwashing process, it is proposed that the storage container be arranged above the sand and disinfection filters.
It is also advantageous that the storage container and the sand and disinfection filters are arranged in a common housing. This enables a simple but also robust construction of the entire system. For example, the whole construction is made of a welded polyethylene and is therefore very impact-resistant and extremely resistant.
So that a compensation when pumping water into the storage container and a pumping out towards the tapping point without overpressure or underpressure in the storage container is possible and nevertheless there is the certainty that impurities do not already get back into the storage container, it is provided that at the top of the An air-water filter is arranged as a connection from the storage container to the ambient air.
So that even if the air-water filter in the storage container is clogged, there can be no overpressure if e.g. more water is supplied (and the discharge via the disinfection system takes place too slowly, it is additionally provided that an overflow line opens into the open at the top of the housing and thus at the upper edge region of the storage container.
It is also proposed that the bottom of the storage container be designed to slope down toward an edge region or towards the central region. There is always a guarantee that the bottom of the storage container will not be contaminated and that all floor areas will always be cleaned by the draining water.
Further details of the invention are explained in more detail in the following description with reference to the drawing, in which a complete structure of a system is shown schematically.
In the system for water treatment and drinking water production, a first pump device 1 is provided for drawing in the dirty water, a sand filter 3 being inserted into the supply line 17, 18 to a storage container 2. A second pumping device 4 is provided for sucking in the water from the storage container 2, this second pumping device 4 being followed by a disinfection filter 5, through which the water is guided immediately before the extraction point 6 for the drinking water. Proven Katadyn candles are advantageously used as disinfection filters 5 in practice.
The first pump device 1 is designed as a hand pump that can be operated via a swivel lever 7. The second pump device 4 is a piston diaphragm pump provided with a crank drive 8.
Three-way valves 9 and 10 are assigned to the first pump device 1 on the inlet and outlet side. These three-way valves 9 and 10 are connected to one another by bridging the pump device 1 via a bypass line 11. On account of the bypass line 11 provided here, the sand filter 3 can be backwashed from the storage container 2 via the bypass line 11, the first pump device 1 and the two three-way valves 9 and 10. For this purpose, the two three-way valves 9 and 10, which are forcibly connected in the same direction, are switched over. When the first pumping device 1 is started up, water is sucked in from the storage container via the supply line 18, the sand filter 3, the supply line 17, the bypass line 11, the three-way valve 9, the first pumping device 1 and the second three-way valve 10 and discharged into the open via the connection piece 19.
It is therefore possible to backwash the sand filter in a simple manner by changing over the three-way valves 9 and 10 and by starting up the first pump device 1. After the three-way valves 9 and 10 have been reset to the starting position, the water drawn in via the suction line 12 is fed again via the three-way valve 9, the first pumping device 1 and the second three-way valve 10 to the feed line 17 and thus to the sand filter 3, the feed line 18 and the storage container ,
In the embodiment variant shown, the storage container 2 is arranged above the sand and disinfection filters 3 and 5, which has a number of advantages. Of course, other constructive variants of the mutual assignment of the filters, pumps and storage containers can also be considered within the scope of the invention. Precisely for reasons of simple and compact transportation of an entire system, it is advantageous if the storage container 2 and the sand and the disinfection filter 3 and 5 are arranged in a common housing 13. It would be quite conceivable if the second pump device or possibly also the first pump device are accommodated in the common housing or are, for example, permanently or detachably attached.
An air-water filter 14 is arranged on the top of the housing 13 as a connection from the storage container 2 to the ambient air. Furthermore, an overflow line 15 can open into the open at the top of the housing 13 and thus at the upper edge region of the storage container 2.
In a further constructive measure, it is provided that the bottom 16 of the storage container 2 is designed to slope towards an edge region or towards the middle region.
A number of smaller changes are possible within the scope of the invention. Additional lines and valves can be used. An additional storage container for treated drinking water would also have to be arranged inside or outside the housing. The entire system can be specially designed for transport on land, water or in the air. However, it makes sense to design it for every deployment so that it can always act quickly and easily during disaster operations.
With the system according to the invention, a portable water treatment system has been created which is easy to handle and can also be used without problems even when inexperienced. Such systems make it possible to supply 1000 to 2000 people with 10 liters of treated and sterilized drinking water each day.
