Abstract

The connecting box for an air outlet comprises five individual parts, i.e. four cover plates (A) with sliding rabbets and connections (7), provided with edged-around plate ends and a top plate (B) with edged-around plate ends for securing the cover plates. All the side cover plates are provided with one or more connections and are joined to each other by special rabbets. The top plate grips with its all-sided edging over the cover plates to secure them and form them at right-angles.

Description

 Technisches Gebiet

 Technical field

The present invention relates to a connection box made of thin sheets of various materials, in a modular system with special connecting folds and snap systems for connecting air-carrying lines and the installation of air outlets for room ventilation.

 State of the art

Junction boxes for ventilation technology for installing air outlets are now completely manufactured as a cube-like housing and transported to the place of use. There they are suspended freely or above suspended ceilings. The connection boxes are connected with one or more air lines and provided on the underside with an air outlet supplied by an external manufacturer.

Today's connection box is manufactured from several sheet metal parts, which are joined together by spot welding, riveting or by means of snap seams. This process involves a very high proportion of manual processing, which makes the boxes correspondingly expensive. A suitable connection box must be made for each air outlet.

With an edge length of up to 650 mm, the junction boxes require a lot of space during transport according to the current manufacturing process. The resulting freight costs and the pollution of the environment caused by emissions during transport are disproportionate to the volume of the box.

 Presentation of the invention

The present invention proposes to manufacture the connection boxes as a modular system with special connecting folds and snap systems in individual parts and to send them in recyclable packaging.
 - The junction boxes are made of sheet metal of different materials in five individual parts.
 - The four cladding sheets are provided with a special sliding fold on the vertical corner edges, so that the individual sheets are joined together and a square casing is created.
 - The horizontal edges of the sheets are folded over and point inwards after they have been joined together. The cover plate is attached to the side plates with fastening pins.

This system enables the components of the junction box to be manufactured fully automatically. Only 1/3 of the previously required transport volume is required for shipping. These points allow the junction boxes to be offered at a lower price. Another advantage is the handling of the junction boxes from the unloading point at the construction site to the installation site.

Where previously only a maximum of two junction boxes could be carried through the corridors and stairwells on the construction site, up to four boxes can now be transported.

List and description of the drawings

   Fig. 1 shows a side plate (A).
 - The special connecting profiles (1) are attached to the vertical edges.
 - A fastening hole (3) is punched into each of the edges (2) on the horizontal edges.
Fig. 2 shows the cover plate (B) with also punched mounting holes (5) through which this is attached to the side parts (A) by means of mounting pins (6).
   FIG.

3 shows the system of the box.
 - All side parts (A) can be equipped with one or more connecting pieces (7).
 - The side panels (A) are connected to each other by the special fold across corners.
 - The cover plate (B) grips with its all-round edging on the outside over the side parts (A), thereby locking them and bringing them into a right angle.
4 shows the junction box ready for packaging, consisting of five individual parts:
 - four side plates (A), one side plate thereof with connecting piece (7), and
 - a cover plate (B).
Fig. 5 shows the assembled and ready-to-install junction box.

 Implementation of the invention

The side panels with the special connecting profiles on the edges are machine-made, packaged and shipped in a modular system in recyclable packaging. The embodiment of the invention results from the presentation of the invention with the various drawings.
