Fig. 2 Zylinderkoordinaten für das virtuelle Abrichtwerkzeug und
Fig. 3 Zylinderkoordinaten für die Profilschleifscheibe.
The invention relates to a method for dressing profile grinding wheels with the features according to the preamble of claim 1.
So far, grinding wheels for the continuous profile grinding of gear wheels have been dressed by placing a diamond-coated tool of the same or similar geometry, a so-called dressing gear, in the place of a workpiece to be ground. Such a method for dressing a profile grinding wheel is efficient in spite of the expensive dressing tool for series production, because the individual dressing cycle takes place very quickly and the dressing tool generally has a long service life. However, there is a considerable disadvantage in the lack of flexibility, since even with small changes in the workpiece geometry, for example in the case of a tooth flank modification, a correspondingly different diamond dressing gear is required, the production of which takes a long time and is quite expensive.
The invention is based on the object of providing a more flexible method for dressing profile grinding wheels which can be used economically in the case of individual workpieces and in small series. This object is achieved according to the invention with the features of claim 1.
Precondition for the dressing method according to the invention is precise knowledge of the complex profile shape of the grinding wheel, as generated by a dressing gear for a given workpiece geometry. Such a desired shape of the grinding wheel is defined by a number of support points with a corresponding density over the entire active surface. A single diamond or a hard-faced grinding wheel can now dress the profile grinding wheel in connection with a computer in accordance with the shape coordinates of the virtual dressing tool. It is expedient to follow the individual process steps according to claim 2.
An embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the drawing. It shows:
1 shows two cylinder coordinate systems for a profile grinding wheel and a virtual dressing tool,
Fig. 2 cylinder coordinates for the virtual dressing tool and
Fig. 3 cylinder coordinates for the profile grinding wheel.
To simplify the representation, the representation of gears has been omitted. The drawing is only intended to illustrate the coordinate systems and their mutual position.
The points in a virtual dressing tool, a dressing gear 1, are described by the three coordinates z, r and the angle delta. This coordinate system is called Z. The Z axis is identical to the axis 2 of the dressing gear 1, r is the radius of the point to be defined and is therefore equal to the distance from the Z axis. delta is the angle between the radius r and the radius r0, the radii forming a plane that is perpendicular to the Z axis.
The points on the profile grinding wheel 3 are characterized by the three coordinates s, t and epsilon. This coordinate system is called S. The S axis coincides with the axis 4 of the profile grinding wheel 3. The radius of a point or its distance from the S axis is denoted by t, the angle between the radius t and the radius t0 at the origin being denoted by epsilon.
The two coordinate systems Z and S are positioned relative to one another like the dressing gear 1 and the profile grinding wheel 3 during the dressing process, the absolute position in space not being important. The origin of the coordinate system S lies in the Z coordinate system at the coordinates z = 0, r = a and delta = 0, where a is the distance between the two axes S and Z. The position of the two axes S and Z is characterized by an angle tau. Furthermore, the angle of rotation of the dressing gear 1 to the angle of rotation of the profile grinding wheel 3 is coupled by the relationship number of teeth multiplied by the ratio of the angle of rotation equal to n, where n is an integer. Each rotation angle epsilon of the profile grinding wheel system S thus corresponds to a specific rotation angle delta of the dressing gear system Z.
The tooth geometry of the dressing gear 1 is represented by a number of support points on the surface of the dressing gear 1, which lie in an r / z grid. This grid is a set of circles around the Z axis, on which the following applies: z = i * z0 and r = j * r0. Z0 and r0 indicate the distances between the grid points and thus indicate the increments of the grid. A grid is defined analogously in the coordinate system S of the profile grinding wheel 3. However, here it is a t / epsilon grid, i.e. a set of axially parallel straight lines on which t = k * t0 and epsilon = 1 * epsilon 0. t0 and epsilon 0 are the increments of this grid. The support points for the profile grinding wheel surface will ultimately lie on this grid.
When calculating the support points, the entire system is rotated step by step with an incremental angle of rotation epsilon in the profile grinding wheel system S and the path of each support point on the toothing surface of the dressing gear 1 in the profile grinding wheel system S is calculated. The envelope of these tracks describes the surface of the profile grinding wheel 3 after the dressing process.
If you first consider only one end cut in the raster of the dressing gear 1 and the trajectories resulting from the spinning in the system of the profile grinding wheel 3, these run side by side around the axis S of the profile grinding wheel 3 and describe the surface of a groove that would occur if the dressing gear 1 would be just a thin toothed washer. The support points of these tracks, namely the pixels of the support points of the dressing gear surface under the synchronized rotation of the two coordinate systems, are initially not on the grid defined above in system S of the profile grinding wheel 3. However, by means of two linear interpolations, support points for the groove surface can be calculated from the original pixels that lie on the grid mentioned.
If the same operations are carried out for the face cut closest in the dressing gear 1, a second groove is obtained which largely overlaps with the first. Since the node sets are both on the same grid with a degree of freedom in the S coordinate, it is easy to find the resulting groove from these two, which is then also described by nodes on the grid. In this way, by gradually adding the next face cut of the dressing gear 1, the resulting groove in the profile grinding wheel 3 can be calculated. At the end of this process, the support points of the grooves on the profile grinding wheel 3, which are formed in total in this simulated dressing process, are then calculated, and the goal of the calculation method is thus achieved.
The accuracy of the calculation result essentially depends on the fineness of the grid and thus the density of the support points and the step size of the rotation angle epsilon.
The method according to the invention is particularly suitable for the production of individual parts and small batch sizes and for the production of profile grinding tools which can no longer be dressed and which are coated with hard materials.
