Description
The present invention relates to an assembly for protecting the head against shocks according to the preamble of claim 1 appended.
The practice of certain sports, in particular by children, requires the wearing of a means of protection of the head against shocks and there are known, to meet this need, many types of helmets which are widely used commercially.
In some cases, although wearing a helmet is not a legal requirement, wearing a helmet is strongly recommended. This is the case, for example, for bicycles, scooters, roller skating and rollerblading, skateboarding, and for winter sports such as ice skating, snowboarding, skiing. However, children are very often reluctant to put on a helmet, for example because they find it cumbersome to transport and / or wear, or for aesthetic reasons.
The object of the present invention is to create a protective assembly which makes it possible in particular to remedy these drawbacks, while making it possible to provide sufficient protection in the event of a fall or impact.
To this end, the protection assembly according to the invention will include the characteristics defined in independent claim 1 or one or more of dependent claims 2 to 9.
A description is given below, by way of example, of a possible embodiment for the subject of the invention, with reference to the attached drawing.
Fig. 1 is a simplified perspective view showing the two elements of the protection assembly, the helmet itself being shown in dotted lines, and
Fig. 2 is a view, also in simplified perspective, of the helmet alone.
As can be seen in the drawing, the invention consists in associating two elements: on the one hand an element 1 playing the role of helmet, and on the other hand an element 2 playing the role of a hairstyle, which here takes the form of a hood.
The helmet 1 (FIG. 2) comprises a protective shell 14, for example of semi-rigid plastic or rubber, adjusted to the dimensions of the head of a wearer, for example a child, of a predetermined size, for which the helmet is provided. This shell is lined externally at various reinforcement locations in the form of elongated tubes, of deformable materials fixed for example by gluing against the shell. Thus, a strand 9 extends along the forehead and a strand 8 along the nape of the neck. Two oval-shaped reinforcements 6 and 7 are arranged at the locations of the ears, so as to protect them, as well as the temples, against impacts in the event of a fall.
Note that the shell 14 has, in this embodiment, lobe-shaped extensions 10 and 11 which protect the lower jaw of the wearer. It is further equipped with a strap 5 passing under the chin, capable of being hooked and unhooked at one of its ends and connecting the two lower edges of the shell 14.
Element 2 appears externally in FIG. 1. Here it has the shape of a hood made of fabric, fabric or knit, possibly in natural or synthetic leather, applying to element 1 and its reinforcements. This hood is coated internally with a lining 3 which extends beyond its edges 12 and 13 at the level of the neck and at the level of the face.
The lower edge of the lining 3 is provided with a closure 4, for example of the velcro type.
Element 1 is permanently introduced into the lining of element 2.
It is understood that the assembly as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 is preferably provided for a child practicing ice skating or snowboarding. Instead of a hood, the hairstyle element could also be a simple hood. For applications in summer sports, the hairstyle could be of a lighter execution, for example in the form of a cap, a cap, if necessary a beret. Also for the helmet, embodiments different from that shown can be provided: the number and the arrangement of the reinforcement strands can be chosen according to the aim sought according to the experience of those skilled in the art. It is the same for the shape and extension of the hull. This could also include openings in locations protected by the presence of the reinforcing members.
