The invention relates to a demolition process, in particular for the demolition of buildings located near other buildings or roadways.
Until today, the demolition of buildings located close to other buildings first required the erection of scaffolding around the building to be demolished, this scaffolding being fixed to the facade of the building. The building was then demolished manually by people located on this scaffolding. This implied a significant need for personnel, as well as a particularly slow demolition process, without taking into account the risk of accident due to the work on scaffolding and the fact that the scaffolding is fixed on a facade being demolished, therefore susceptible to collapse.
The only solution to overcome this slowness and these risks of accident is the use of a machine. Machine demolition does however reveal the risk of falling rocks, pieces of concrete or other elements on the surrounding buildings.
The object of the invention is to propose a process allowing the demolition of buildings by machine without the risk of damaging other buildings.
This object is achieved by the method according to the invention, characterized in that before the demolition of the building begins at least one flexible and solid panel is deployed against at least one facade of the building located near other buildings, protruding the ridge thereof, the lower edge of this panel being fixed to the facade of the building and the upper edge being held by a support means so that the panel is stretched against the facade of the building, that the building is then demolished by means of at least one site machine up to the level of the fixing of the lower edge of the panel, the panel then being detached from the facade, lowered by the support means, then reattached to the facade for the demolition of 'a next section of the building until the whole building is destroyed.
Another object of the invention is to provide a device for implementing the method according to the invention.
This object is achieved by the device according to the invention, characterized in that it consists essentially of a flexible panel resistant to traction and impact and of a support means for this panel, the lower edge of the panel being provided with means for fixing to a facade of a building and its upper edge being provided with means for suspending from said support means.
The method and the device according to the invention make it possible to demolish a building by machine without risk of deterioration for the buildings located nearby, but also without risk for the people carrying out the demolition.
Indeed, the stones or pieces of concrete torn off by the machine which tend to fall on the side of the panels are retained and returned by them towards the middle of the building being demolished.
The building can be demolished to the level of the fixing of the lower edge of the panel, there is no risk that stones or pieces of concrete having slipped between the facade and the panel could fall on the neighboring buildings during the removal of the sign.
The panel constituting the device according to the invention is preferably made of reinforced rubber, which gives it a high impact and tensile strength, as well as great maneuverability.
Due to its maneuverability, the panel can very easily be folded in an accordion for its storage or transport and it can easily be redeployed for its installation against a facade, which represents an important advantage of the invention compared to the prior art .
This ease of storage makes it possible to dismantle these panels for the night, this avoiding their possible deterioration in the event of strong wind.
The support member to which the panel is hung is preferably a crane.
The accompanying drawing represents an embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows the device according to the invention during the demolition of a building.
Fig. 2 shows the panel of the above device when folded.
The device according to the invention shown in fig. 1 consists of a crane 1 supporting a beam 2 to which are attached two panels 3 each applied against a facade of a building 5 to be demolished in order to protect the buildings 6 located near said facades from possible falling pieces of concrete or other construction elements. These panels 3 are composed of vertical strips of reinforced rubber fixed to each other and forming a flexible curtain of impact and tensile strength and of two profiles 4a, 4b, one being fixed to the upper edge of the curtain in rubber and the other at its bottom edge. The reinforced rubber bands can, for example, be pieces of treadmills. The panels 3 are attached to the beam 2 by means of chains 7 fixed to their upper profile 4a.
They are each fixed to a facade of the building by their lower section 4a and are stretched by the crane between their two sections 4a, 4b so as to be well pressed against the facades of the building to be demolished.
When these panels 3 are installed, demolition can begin by means of one or more site machines 8. Concrete or other elements which tend to fall on the side of the facades protected by the panels are retained by them. Demolition can be carried out up to the height of the lower profiles.
When these are reached, the lower profiles are detached from the facade, then the panels are lowered by means of the crane. When they re-cover part of the facades to be demolished, their lower profiles are attached to the facades and demolition can continue until the entire building is destroyed.
Fig. 2 shows a panel of the device according to the invention during folding. The rubber panel 3, therefore flexible, can very simply be folded into an accordion, which allows it to occupy a minimum of space during its transport or its storage.
