The invention relates to a sectional door consisting of individual sections which are hinged to one another and guided in guides in the region of their ends, a cover profile provided with an at least approximately circular cylindrical surface being provided to cover a gap which arises when the sections are pivoted against one another is arranged, the center of its circle lies essentially in the hinge axis and which is swiped over by parts of the same when the sections are pivoted.
Sectional doors have a wide range of applications as overhead sectional doors and as side sectional doors, because they enable generally problem-free operation with a small footprint. However, with many gates there is a risk that during the closing process, in which the sections pivot about their hinge axes, the user reaches into the narrowing gap between the sections and his fingers are squeezed in the process.
In order to avoid this disadvantage, overhead sectional doors have already been proposed and built, in which each section has a surface area which is convex in the vertical sectional view on its upper side facing the adjoining section and a surface area which is concave in the vertical sectional view on its lower side. In such an embodiment, the gap between the two cylindrical long sides of adjacent sections always remains the same, so that the risk of crushing is eliminated. However, profiling the long sides of the sections is very complex.
A sectional door is known from AT 397 411 B, in which the circular cylindrical surface is designed as a top part, a projecting lip being arranged on the section adjoining the top part, which lip cooperates with the circular cylindrical surface of the top part. This simplifies the manufacture of the sections or the entire sectional door compared to the embodiment described above, the risk of crushing also being eliminated.
The invention has set itself the goal of creating a sectional door in which easy-to-produce profiles can be used, with larger gates, both ceiling and side sectional doors, to be equipped with it. This is achieved in that the cover profile is pivotally attached to the hinge axis and its circular cylindrical surface is overlapped by projecting strips of both sections.
In the case of a sectional door according to the invention, the projecting strips continuously sweep over the circular cylindrical surface of the cover profile, so that the gap always remains the same in every position of the sections.
A simple design or manufacture is achieved if the projecting strips are formed by one leg of an approximately L-shaped profile, the other legs of which are attached to the respective end profiles of the sections.
In order to seal the sections against one another, according to a further feature of the invention, the cover profile has seals at both ends of its circular cylindrical surface which, in the stretched position of the sections, on their end profiles or on the webs of the L-shaped profiles attached to them, and, in the pivoted position of the sections, rest against the bevels of the projecting strips.
The invention is described in more detail below with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawings, without being limited to this example. 1 to 4, the connection point of two sections in different pivot positions is shown in section or in a view in the longitudinal direction of the sections.
According to the drawings, the end profiles 1 and 2 of two adjoining sections of a sectional door are pivotally connected to one another by means of a hinge 3. The hinge axis is designated 4. On this hinge axis, a cover profile 5 is pivotally mounted, and in the drawings, for a better overview, the connection arm to the pivot axis 4 is only illustrated by its center line 6.
The cover profile 5 has a circular cylindrical surface 7, the center of which lies at least approximately in the hinge axis 4. Seals 12 are arranged at the ends of the surface 7.
Approximately L-shaped profiles are connected to the surfaces 8 of the end profiles 1 and 2, the legs 9 of which rest against the surfaces 8. The legs 10 of the L-shaped profiles represent projecting strips and have bevels 11 which sweep over the circular cylindrical surface 7 of the cover profile 5 during the pivoting movement of the two sections. As a result, the gap between the circular cylindrical surface 7 and the bevels 11 always remains the same when the sections are pivoted, this gap being able to be kept very small.
At the two ends of the circular cylindrical surface 7 of the cover profile 5 seals 12 are arranged.
As can be seen from FIG. 1, these seals 12 rest against the inside of the legs 9 in the extended position of the sections. In addition, the cover profile 5 rests on bends 9 min of the legs 9.
When the two sections are pivoted relative to one another, the cover profile 5 is pivoted over the one seal 12 by the bevel 11 of one section until the other seal 12 also bears against the bevel 11 of the other section (FIG. 4).
Numerous modifications are possible within the scope of the invention. In particular, as already mentioned, the measure according to the invention can be used both with overhead sectional doors and with side sectional doors. The shape of the individual profiles can be varied in many ways compared to the exemplary embodiment shown, without departing from the inventive concept defined by the claims, in particular the main claim.
