The accompanying drawing illustrates schematically and by way of example an embodiment of the access control device according to the invention.
Fig. 1 schematically illustrates the door phone and its management center.
Figs. 2, 2a illustrate the doorman from the front and from the side on a larger scale.
Fig. 3 illustrates the device equipped with a video camera and its connection to the resident's television.
Fig. 4 illustrates the card which can be plugged into the motherboard allowing the transmission to residents of graphic, alpha-digital and sound information.
The access control device according to the present invention comprises a manual control element or entrance panel, a central management unit, a camera and means connecting this camera to the collective antenna supplying the individual televisions of the occupants of the equipped building or residents.
Fig. 1 illustrates the entrance panel and the central management unit.
The entrance panel 1 comprises a box, the front face of which is equipped with a keyboard 2, a display 3, a loudspeaker 4 and a microphone 5.
The central management unit 6 is in the form of a motherboard 7 comprising a low voltage power supply 8, an interface for connection to a telephone line 9 and control links 10 for the strike of the front door, of monitoring contacts and the output button. This central management unit also has a video input connected to a camera 11 and a video output 12. In practice, the central management unit 6 is incorporated into the door station unit or installed close to it and connected to this door station 1.
The video output 12 of the central management unit 7 is adapted and connected to a distribution amplifier 12a serving from the collective antenna the individual television set 13 of the residents.
When a person comes to the front door they can either enter a code on the keypad 2 to trigger the door strike if that person is resident and therefore knows the code or they select using buttons A, B of display 3 the name of the resident she comes to visit. Then, using button C, she calls the resident over the normal telephone network. This manipulation can also serve to trigger the camera 11 selectively.
The resident takes his telephone handset to listen to the visitor and can simultaneously observe him on his home television screen. If he wishes to open the door, he dials the code agreed on his telephone keypad which causes the release of the electric strike and the opening of the door.
It is of course possible to design doormen without display, the resident's call is then made by dialing his telephone number on the keypad 2.
What is interesting in this embodiment is that both the voice link and the video link are made by the existing telephone networks respectively of video distribution, cable or collective antenna. Thus, the installation of this access control device is greatly simplified since no cable is required from the doorman to each resident.
The management center may also include a control output 14 supplying a printer making it possible to record all the operations carried out on the doorman.
In the illustrated embodiment, the central management unit 6 comprises a motherboard 6a and additional specific plug-in boards for controlling a second access 15, the alarm circuit 16, etc.
In its most complete version, the central management unit also includes a plug-in teletext card 17. This card illustrated in detail in FIG. 4, includes a memory allowing the downloading of graphic, alpha-digital and / or sound data by the telephone line 9 or by a telecommunications network which can then be broadcast on the television sets of the residents.
It is thus possible to broadcast at will a previously established teletext program or advertising or informative messages to the television sets of all residents. The economic benefit of such a possibility is obvious.
