nella fig. 1 una vista laterale d'insieme di una preferita realizzazione del mezzo per la locomozione a pedali secondo l'invenzione;
nella fig. 2 uno schizzo della vista laterale del solo treno posteriore collegato al telaio;
nella fig. 3 uno schizzo della vista di una sezione del treno posteriore eseguita mediante un piano verticale;
The present invention relates to the field of means for locomotion on snow and ice.
As far as the inventor is aware, up to now these vehicles, equipped with tracks suitable for gripping on soft and highly slippery surfaces, have been conceived only for their operation by means of engines, mostly with internal combustion: think of example to snowmobiles or to the so-called "snow cats".
The inventor intended to provide, by means of the invention object of the present application, a new concept means, suitable to be operated by means of the pedals in a completely analogous way to a common bicycle.
A vehicle of this type can provide a useful aid for moving on snow or ice, both for practical purposes and for the purpose of simple enjoyment, and without involving the slightest environmental pollution neither in terms of the emission of exhaust gases, nor below that of noise pollution.
The object of the invention consists in fact of a means for pedal locomotion characterized by the characterized part of the first attached claim.
The construction and operating details will be better illustrated in the course of the description that follows, in which reference will also be made to the attached drawings, in which they are represented:
in fig. 1 an overall side view of a preferred embodiment of the pedal locomotion means according to the invention;
in fig. 2 a sketch of the side view of the rear train only connected to the chassis;
in fig. 3 a sketch of the view of a section of the rear train made by means of a vertical plane;
in fig. 4 is a rear view of the vehicle with two anti-tip shoes applied.
Considering fig. 1 it is simple to explain the operation of an embodiment of the vehicle according to the invention: a driver (not shown) can direct the vehicle 1 in the desired direction on the snow by rotating a revolving handlebar 2 integral with a skate 3 suitably sized and bearing a lower part or more 3n ribs oriented in the direction of the rectilinear motion of the medium itself.
Said driver is supported by a bicycle saddle 9 fixed on a rigid frame 8 which connects the said handlebar 2 to a rear train 4 comprising a primary toothed wheel 5 fixed on the frame 8 and meshing with the internal surface of a folding track. 6. As can best be seen from fig. 2, the track 6 is kept in a desired geometric configuration by means of a plurality of rotated toothed bodies or not, for example wheels 7i, rigidly connected between them as well as to the frame 8 and engaging, in their rotation, on said internal surface of the track 6.
The motion is transmitted to the track 6, and consequently to the wheels 7i, by the said primary toothed wheel 5, which is integral with an auxiliary toothed wheel 5a connected by means of a transmission chain to a motor gear 10 driven by the driver by means of a torque of pedals 11.
In order to vary the available torque, the said primary toothed wheel 5. can also be integral with a plurality of auxiliary toothed wheels 5a, 5b, 5c of different diameter coaxial to each other and side by side, with only one of which can be selectively made meshing with said transmission chain 12 by operating means fixed to the frame, quite similar to a common bicycle gearbox (not shown, given their obviousness).
Another embodiment is also provided in which the motor gear 10 meshes directly with the internal surface of the track 6, without requiring the presence of a transmission chain and said primary and auxiliary toothed wheels. (The case is not pictured.)
The braking of the vehicle can be carried out by means of, for example, a pair of shoes 14 fig. 3 with a high coefficient of friction acting on the primary gear wheel 5 and supported by a fork 13 with elastic return of a known type. (Shoes and fork are schematically shown in fig. 3.)
The movement of the fork 13 can be obtained by exerting traction on it by means of a cable 15 connected to an operating lever 16 fixed on the handlebar 2, that is according to a system well known in the cycling field.
The inventor suggests a very practical system (fig. 3) for obtaining the meshing of the described primary toothed wheel 5 (or of the motor gear 10) with the inside of the track 6 of the rear train, consisting in obtaining a plurality of holes equidistant 17i arranged along the median line of the track 6 itself, so that a certain number of teeth of the gear wheel 5 corresponding to a desired meshing arc penetrate inside them.
Obviously, in the most frequent case in which the track 6 is made of rubber or synthetic materials it is appropriate to reinforce the perimeter of the said holes 17i by means of suitable rigid elements, for example bars or steel wires, according to methods known in the field of tires and rubber tracks. These elements are not represented in the figures.
In order to obtain that the rear train 4, during the motion of the vehicle 1, adapts to the roughness or to the changes of slope of the support surface, the inventor has foreseen to interpose, between the train itself 4 and the frame 8, a shock absorber 18.
Furthermore, since during motion, due to the elasticity of the track 6 and the kinematic motion of the various parts, the track portion 6b comprised between the primary toothed wheel 5 and the wheel immediately following it in the direction of motion of the track itself 6 can flex to decrease the tension exerted on it, the inventor has planned to make the axis 19 fig. 3 of the wheel mentioned last, which is limited to sliding in a horizontal direction, interposing between it and a rigid part 20 of the rear train 4 an elastic element, for example a spring 21 which maintains said axis 19 in the position in which a certain tension of the section is guaranteed 6b of track previously described.
To give the vehicle greater stability on particularly loose or uneven ground, the inventor also provides for the possibility of connecting one or more skates 22 to the frame 8 (fig. 4) and / or to the rigid structures 20 of the rear train 4, fixed on connection 23, which perform an anti-overturning stabilizing function, or a second (neutral) engine train placed side by side with the first (this embodiment is not represented as it is imaginable in an obvious way).
In addition, on the tubular vertical section which connects the handlebar 2 to said front shoe 3, in order to absorb the shocks while the vehicle is moving, the inventor has also envisaged applying a system comprising a telescopic shock absorber 21 of a known type.
Various further improvements can be made to all the parts making up the pedal locomotion means according to the present invention, but realizations other than the purely exemplary described and illustrated, but referring to what is expressed in the attached claims, will in any case be included within the scope the protection conferred by this application.
