The present invention relates to a closure and tightening device of adjustable length for a ski boot comprising a tensioner intended to be fixed to a first part of the boot and hooking means connected to the tensioner by connecting means provided with a threaded cylindrical head engaged by screwing in a threaded housing of a part secured to the tensioner so as to allow the length of the device to be adjusted by the rotational drive of the hooking means connected to the tensioner.
From US patent 4,051,611, in particular, there is known a closing and tightening device comprising a tensioning lever on which is articulated a threaded rod coming to be screwed in a metal block on which is articulated a rectangular loop coming to hang on a denture attached to the shoe. The distance between the loop and the tensioner is adjusted by rotating the block, like a nut, by means of the loop. This type of device is also widely used.
In document EP-A 0 475 068 it has been proposed to use a tie rod having two threaded and screwed parts respectively in the tensioning lever and in the part carrying the buckle. The adjustment length being equal to the sum of the lengths of the threads, the adjustment range is significantly increased.
The object of the invention is to obtain the same result with a substantially more compact construction.
The device according to the invention is characterized in that the threaded head of the connecting means is engaged by screwing in an internally threaded tubular part which also has a cylindrical part externally threaded and engaged by screwing in the part integral with the tensioner.
The tensioner can be of the lever type or of another type.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the device according to the invention.
The single figure of the drawing represents a view in axial section thereof.
The device shown in fig. 1 comprises a tensioner lever 1 analogous to the tensioner lever shown in US Patent 4,051,611. This tensioner lever has two parallel arms by which it is articulated around an axis 2 on a base 3 in the form of a stirrup intended to be fixed on a shoe part. Between the arms of the tensioning lever is articulated, about an axis 4, a part 20 having a threaded cylindrical housing 21 having, at one of its ends, a non-threaded narrowing 22. In this threaded piece 21 is engaged a tubular piece 23 having a portion of small diameter freely passing through the constriction 22 and a threaded cylindrical portion 24 of larger diameter screwed into the housing 21.
The interior of the tubular part 23 constitutes a cylindrical housing 25, also threaded, cooperating with a threaded cylindrical head 26 constituting the end of a tie rod 27 articulated on a dentiere 13 around an axis 12. On the dentière comes s 'hook a tangular rec loop 14 attached to another part of the shoe. The narrowing 22 prevents the threaded portion 24 from leaving the housing 21. The entry of the threaded passage 25 is deformed by a punch at 28 to prevent the threaded head 26 from coming out of its housing. In the other direction, the stroke of the head 26 in the housing 25 is limited by a shoulder 29 of the tie rod 27, a shoulder which abuts against the tubular part 23 before the thread of the head 26 leaves the thread of the housing 25. The stroke of the threaded part 24, in the same direction, is limited by the axis 4.
The distance between axes 4 and 12 is adjusted, loop 14 unhooked, by driving the denture 13 in rotation about the axis of the tie rod 27. Assuming that the threads are right-hand threads, the rotation of the clockwise clockwise 13 has the effect of making the two threaded portions 24 and 26 penetrate further into their respective housings and consequently of shortening the distance between axes 4 and 12. Conversely, a rotation of the clockwise clockwise has the effect of unscrewing the parts 24 and 26 from their respective housings and lengthening the distance between the axes 4 and 12.
If we compare parts 20 and 27 with parts 60 and 62 of the device shown in US Pat. No. 4,051,611, we see that these parts have practically the same length. However, with the construction according to the invention, the adjustment length is practically doubled relative to the execution according to the prior art.
It does not matter whether the tubular part 23 is rotated or not by friction during the rotation of the tie rod 27. The tie rod 27 could also be replaced by a cable crimped in the part 29. If the cable is longer than the tie rod 27, the shoulder 29 can be replaced by a stop crimped on the cable.
