Abstract

The special compartment (2) situated between the main refrigerated space (1) and the freezer compartment (3) is cooled to a temperature between zero and 1 deg C by a heat exchanger (5) with sheet-metal parts (7) in contact with the evaporator (8) of the freezer. Air is extracted by a fan (4) and cooled by contact with these parts, which project into heat-transfer chambers having air inlets and outlets (16). A defrosting electric heater (9) is provided preferably in contact with the sheet metal, and switched-on e.g. in conjunction with the compressor (18).

Description

Fig. 2 einen Vertikalschnitt nach der Linie C-C in Fig. 1
Fig. 3 einen Horizontalschnitt nach der Linie B-B in Fig. 1
Fig. 4 eine schematische, perspektivische Darstellung des Wärmetauschers.

The invention relates to a multi-temperature refrigerator according to the preamble of claim 1.

Multi-temperature refrigerators are already known, which contain a main cooling room, a special cooling compartment and a freezer compartment. The cooling temperature in the main cold room is chosen to be around 2 ° C to 8 ° C. Temperatures in the freezer are between -18 ° C and -22 ° C. In the special freezer, temperatures between 0 ° C and 1 ° C are desirable. Both the main cold room and freezer compartment usually have their own evaporators for cooling, which can be connected in series or operated separately. So far, the cooling of the special cooling compartment has been carried out using fault-prone and noise-generating valve controls or complex flap controls with air ducts.

Based on this prior art, the invention has for its object to provide a multi-temperature refrigerator, which is particularly simple in construction and reliable and works with no moving parts with the exception of a fan.

This object is achieved by the features mentioned in the characterizing part of claim 1. This makes the cold transfer into the special cooling compartment particularly easy, since the cooling capacity is transmitted by air flow and an additional evaporator is not necessary.

In addition, the temperature of this special cooling compartment can be precisely maintained in a wider cooling area compared to conventional designs or switched off by stopping the air circulation when not in use.

In the drawing, an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown. Show it:

Fig. 1 is a vertical section through a household refrigerator along the line A-A in Fig. 2nd
FIG. 2 shows a vertical section along the line C-C in FIG. 1
3 shows a horizontal section along the line B-B in FIG. 1
Fig. 4 is a schematic, perspective view of the heat exchanger.

The household refrigerator contains a main refrigerator compartment 1, including a special refrigerator compartment 2, and a freezer compartment 3 is arranged below this. The temperature in the main freezer 1 is usually about 2 ° C to 8 ° C, in the special freezer between about 0 ° C and 1 ° C and in the freezer between about -18 ° C and -22 ° C. The structure and devices for Refrigeration for the main freezer and freezer are conventional with a compressor 18.

The desired cooling temperature in the special cooling compartment 2 is achieved by cooling the air circulating in this room, the cooling capacity being taken from the evaporator for the deep-freeze room.

A heat exchanger 5 designed as a structural unit is inserted in a recess 11 between the vertical rear side of the evaporator 8 assigned to the freezer compartment and the refrigerator inner wall 12. This heat exchanger 5 contains a housing 13, preferably made of plastic, which is divided in the longitudinal center plane. The heat exchanger 5 is provided with two cooling baffles 7, each of which is bent in a U-shape in cross section. One leg of these two cooling baffles 7 bears with metallic contact against the vertical surface of the freezer compartment evaporator 8 or is fastened to this evaporator. The other leg of these cooling baffles 7 penetrates the heat exchanger housing 13 and extends into the cooling channel 14 inside the housing.

The heat exchanger housing 13 contains a central air inlet duct 15, which is in flow connection in the interior of the housing with the two lateral cooling ducts 14, the outlet openings 16 of which open into the special cooling compartment 3. Air is drawn in from the special cooling compartment 2 by a fan 4 via the air inlet duct 15. There is therefore no air exchange between the special refrigerator compartment 2 and the freezer compartment 3.

The two cooling baffles 7 have approximately the temperature of the evaporator 8 assigned to the freezer compartment.

Since the air in the special cooling compartment 2 usually has a certain moisture content, ice forms on the cooling baffles 7 in the cooling channel 14. To defrost this ice there is an electric heater 9 with a connecting line protruding into the cooling channels 14, the heater 9 preferably abutting the cooling baffles 7. This defrost heater can be switched on, for example, depending on the compressor running time. The condensation water is discharged through a drain pipe 10 provided at the lower end of the heat exchanger.

The temperature desired in special cooling compartment 2 and monitored by a thermostat is achieved by air cooling. The amount of air drawn in by the fan 4 from the special cooling compartment 2 is influenced by regulating the speed of the fan or switching it on sequentially. This air flows inside the heat exchanger 5 past the cooling baffles 7, is cooled down and flows back in the direction of the arrows via the outlet openings 16 into the special cooling compartment 2.

As an embodiment variant, it would also be possible to provide only one air outlet duct with a cold guide plate 7.
