The invention relates to a signaling device of a motor-driven road vehicle.
Each motorized road vehicle is equipped with a warning device for the safety of the following vehicles, which is controlled by the actuation of the brake pedal or brake lever. Depending on the vehicle type, at least one red stop light is common in many countries or is required by law.
Numerous critical situations or accidents arise, however, from the fact that a road user, including cyclists and pedestrians, cannot record the imminent reactions of the other participants visible from the front in good time. The only exception is the blinking or a hand signal for the intention to turn left or right. Non-motorized road users, pedestrians and cyclists are particularly affected by this uncertainty factor. For example, a pedestrian can only determine relatively late whether an approaching motorist or motorcyclist is braking or not.
The inventor has set himself the task of recognizing the safety in motorized road traffic in good time with regard to the early recognition of the intentions of approaching motor vehicle drivers, in particular also by pedestrians and cyclists.
The object is achieved according to the invention in that at least one signaling lamp of the code color for free travel, which can be recognized from the front, is arranged on the vehicle, which lamp / s is powered by the vehicle battery, is connected to the ground and is controlled by a contact on the brake pedal or lever / are.
The electrical supply of the signaling lamp is expediently coupled to that of a rear stop lamp. This means that only an insulated conductor has to be drawn to the signaling lamp (s); further installation parts are not necessary. The contact to the control is already installed on the brake pedal or, especially on lighter motorcycles, on the brake lever. The generator or battery current triggers the stop lamp (s) at the rear and the front accident prevention lamp (s) at the same time.
In general traffic signaling, it is customary to block the passage with a red light, while signaling systems switched to green enable the passage or passage. It is therefore obvious and preferred to provide a green cover glass for signaling lamps according to the invention. Now every road user watching from the front can immediately determine whether the approaching vehicle is being braked or not. He has an absolutely objective assessment criterion and does not have to rely solely on his often uncertain feeling of distance assessment. This is of great help to the driver, cyclist and pedestrian and increases safety significantly. Last but not least, this can also liquefy traffic and thus prevent the emission of pollutants.
Of course, instead of a conventional lamp with a green cover glass, e.g. a group of green LEDs (light-emitting diodes) can also be used, which is currently causing higher costs, but can increase the luminance considerably.
Since a part of the population is color blind, in particular red and green cannot distinguish, permanently installed traffic lights often have not only characteristic colors, but also geometric characteristics for the outlines. If appropriate standards can be created for signaling lamps, these lamps should preferably be designed accordingly, e.g. square.
Within the framework of a standardization which is desirable per se, the signaling lamps can be designed and placed in accordance with the optimum efficiency and economy.
If the new equipment of a vehicle comprises safety lamps according to the invention, these will preferably be arranged in prefabricated recesses in the bodywork and / or bumpers. Apart from the desired effect in terms of safety, this has the following advantages:
- Aesthetically optimal solutions can be worked out.
- The air resistance is not affected.
- The costs for retrofitting are eliminated.
The invention is explained in more detail with reference to the exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing, which are also the subject of dependent claims.
They show schematically:
1 to 3 a front view of a passenger car with differently arranged signaling lamps,
4 and 5 a perspective view of a camion with differently arranged signaling lamps, and
6 is a cover glass of a signaling lamp.
A road vehicle 10 shown in FIG. 1, designed as a passenger car, has two green accident prevention lamps 12 on the front. These are arranged in the area of the headlights 14 and the radiator grille 16. If the driver of the road vehicle 10 actuates the brake pedal, the signaling lamps 12 light up in an intense green color in addition to the stop lamps.
FIG. 2 shows a variant of the road vehicle 10 from FIG. 1. In the central, lower area of the radiator grille 16, a single signaling lamp 12, designed as a bar, is arranged above the number plate 18.
FIG. 3 shows a further variant of FIG. 1, which represents the road vehicle 10. The green, illuminated accident prevention lamps 12 that indicate an actuation of the brake pedal are recessed in the bumper 20.
A road vehicle 10 shown in FIG. 4, a camion, has a total of four signaling lamps 12 which light up green when the brake pedal is actuated. The two lower signaling lamps 12 are embedded in the bumper 20, the two upper ones in the outer area above the windshield 22.
5, a variant of FIG. 4, the road vehicle 10 comprises two bar-shaped signaling lamps 12. The lower signaling lamp 12 is embedded in the middle of the bumper 20, the upper, likewise in the middle, above the windshield 22.
The exemplary embodiments shown in FIGS. 1-5 show some possibilities of the safety lamp / s. It is essential that it is always clearly recognizable from the front.
Fig. 6 shows a rimmed green cover glass 24 of an accident prevention lamp 12. A marching pedestrian 26, particularly clearly recognizable when the lamp is switched on, underlines the information and request of the green color. The marching pedestrian 26 is of particular importance for color-blind road users, he removes any doubt about the brake application in the road vehicle concerned.
