Description

The present invention relates to a label holder for merchandise displays.

Prior art.

Many types of merchandise displays such as shelves, wire baskets, bins, rods, etc. are used in retail stores, such as boutiques or department stores.

Before the 1980s, price tags were rarely placed on the edges of displays because each item was marked with a small self-adhesive label. In the 1980s, various legislations imposed the display of prices per unit (for example price per kg or I) for all foodstuffs. This resulted in the display of unit prices on the displays in addition to the display of the price of the quantity sold on the object itself.

In the 1980s, the evolution of labeling towards so-called pre-printed “barcode” labels stuck on the packaging made individual manual marking of each item unnecessary. This made all the more necessary detailed labeling placed on the display of the article.

Numerous label presentation devices adapted to specific forms of merchandise displays have been developed. US Patents 4,805,861 and 4,187,159 and FR 2,585,549 describe label holders which can be attached to the rods to which articles in a blister are hung. US Patents 4,761,904 and 4,760,660 describe label holders that can be attached to the mesh structures of container baskets. The patent FR 2 583 195 and the patent GB 2 167 223 describe a label holder adapting to a marginal shelf rail. Patent FR 2 565 388 describes a label holder adapting to the edges of metal shelf angles. Patent DE 3,517,323 describes a label holder device intended for perforated walls. The diversity of the shapes of the label holders and labels fixed on the different types of displays that can be found in the same store leads to a disharmony of presentation at the level of the whole store. It also results in wasted time for the labeling service, which must take care not to make the wrong format and must re-produce new labels each time the goods change departments.

Summary of the invention.

The purpose of the present invention is to allow a uniform and standardized presentation of the labeling of all the shelves of a store, which is easy to set up and easy to move.

This goal is achieved thanks to a label holder device comprising:

a label support 1, 1 ', having means for holding the label 2, 3, 2', 3 'and a first standardized assembly means 4a, 4b, 4a', 4b 'and

- at least one fixing part A, B, C, D, E, F having a second standardized means of assembly 5, 5 ', 5 ", 5"', 5V adapting to said first means of assembly to bring together said label support to said fastener, as well as fastening means 6, 6 ', 6 ", 6"', 6 | V, 6V for fastening said fastener to said merchandise displays.

Thanks to the standardization of label supports, a standardized presentation of labeling is made possible, and the use of word processing machines is facilitated. The standardization of the label holder according to the present invention allows a reduction in the stocks of labels. The standardization of the method of adaptation to the fixing part also makes it possible to collect the label holders and to distribute them in the store without worrying about their adaptation to the different displays, the fixing parts being able to remain in place. It is therefore possible both to improve the presentation of the departments, to reduce the labor cost and the stocks of spare parts thanks to a set of devices according to the present invention comprising a plurality of identical label holders and a set of pieces of different fixing corresponding to all of the different displays of the store, said set of devices giving a homogeneous appearance to the labeling of all the displays.

According to a first embodiment of the present invention, the dimensions of the label support, of the order of magnitude of the labels, are such that a single fixing piece is sufficient to hold it in place. Seen from the front, it is advantageously in the form of a slightly elongated square or rectangle, although other shapes that are easy to manufacture (circular, oval) can be used, without going beyond the ambit of the present invention. It normally contains only one or a small number of labels.

According to a second embodiment of the present invention, the label support is in elongated form, in the general form of a bar whose length is of the order of magnitude of that of the display. Two or more fixing pieces hold it in front of a shelf, or with two or more rods or bars, or in front of a display wall, where goods are hung. It may contain a plurality of labels or any other written information.

According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the second standardized means of assembly of the fixing piece and its means of fixing to the displays are connected in such a way that the plane in which the label is presented is slightly inclined relative to vertically, up or down. This allows the label to be directed towards the eye of the consumer standing in front of the display, whatever the height of this display.

labiated, extrudable or machinable, in particular in plastic.

According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, it is made of transparent or colored plastic material, known per se, and comprises a transparent front wall 2, 2 ′ covering the label and protecting it from damage.

The fasteners are made of plastic or any other moldable, extrudable or usable material. According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the fixing piece or at least its means of fixing to the displays is made of semi-rigid material capable of slight deformation to adapt to variations in the dimensions of the displays.

To lower the manufacturing cost and facilitate the handling of the label holder relative to the fasteners, it is preferable to produce the label holder device of the present invention in the form of profiled parts.

Other advantages and properties of the label holder device according to the present invention will become more clearly apparent with the aid of the examples given below for purely illustrative and nonlimiting purposes, and in the accompanying figures.

Brief description of the figures and examples of construction.

Fig. 1 shows a sectional view of the label holder according to the present invention. At least the blade 2 is made of transparent plastic. The label is pinched between the blades 2 and 3. The blades 4a and 4b of the first assembly means come into contact with the second assembly means of the fixing piece and keep the two pieces in contact.

Fig. 2 shows an elongated label support 1 'held against a shelf edge by two fixing parts

Fig. 3 schematically shows how the label holder can be adapted to various fixing parts A, B, C, D, E. The 3D drawing schematically shows a fixing part intended to be suspended from a rod (for example to a basket display).

Fig. 4 shows a fixing piece (shown diagrammatically in drawing 3A) making it possible to fix the label support to a marginal shelf rail. The upper and lower edges of the fastening means 6 engage in the grooves of the rail. Plate 6 can be cut if necessary to adapt to the width of this rail

Fig. 5 shows a shelf provided with holes on its edge. The fixing piece consists of a plate-shaped head 5 'extended by a pin which engages in a hole. This pin 6 'can be tapered and split as shown in drawing B (fig. 3) or threaded.

Fig. 6 shows a fixing piece intended to adapt to shelves, the rim of which has the shape of an angle iron. Part 7 engages with the lower rear end of the angle iron. The upper part 8, inclined, semi-rigid, fits on the upper edge of the shelf and allows a certain tolerance in the thickness of the latter.

Fig. 7 shows a fixing piece intended for display stands in the form of rods (to which the goods are suspended using hangers).

Fig. 8 shows another embodiment F of the fixing piece. It comprises a plastic part, molded, the lower edge of which has a recess, according to a part of the cylinder, in which a rod or bar slides. Said rod can be a part of the merchandise display, it can also be supplied as part of F, making it possible to position the label holder 1 "at a variable distance from a panel, from a shelf, by hanging said rod therefrom. other fastening means 7, shown schematically on the left in Fig. 8. The rod is held fixed and clamped against said plastic part, by an internal rod, one end of which is a ring enclosing the rod and the other of which is threaded, provided with a butterfly wing, which, by screwing, pulls said rod towards the inside of the plastic part and clamps said rod against said plastic part.

The examples of embodiments above and the figures relating thereto are given purely by way of illustration. Many variants can be carried out by a person skilled in the art without departing from the scope of the present invention.

Claims (9)

Claims 1. Label holder device for merchandise displays, characterized in that it comprises: - a label support (1, 1 '), having means for holding the label (2, 3, 2', 3 ') and a first assembly means (4a, 4b, 4a', 4b ' ) and - at least one fixing part (A, B, C, D, E, F) having a second assembly means (5, 5 ', 5 ", 5V) adapting to said first assembly means for joining said label holder for said fixing piece, as well as fixing means (6, 6 ', 6 ", 6'", 6IV, 6V) for fixing said fixing piece to said merchandise displays. 2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that it consists at least in part of profiled parts. 3. Device according to claims 1 or 2, characterized in that the label support is a semi-rigid transparent part, that said holding means (2, 3, 2 ', 3') have substantially the profile of a pocket now holds the label between its front face (2, 2 ') and its rear face (3, 3'). 4.
