Fig. 1).
Fig. 5, 7).
The invention relates to a camera crane with a boom, which is arranged on a support frame so as to be pivotable about a horizontal axis, a camera platform being provided at the front end of the boom, which is pivotable about a horizontal axis in such a way that it maintains its pivoting position regardless of the pivoting position of the boom.
In known camera cranes of this type, the pivot position of the camera platform is adjusted by means of a rod of fixed length, which together with the boom forms a parallel guide. Such rods are relatively cumbersome to handle. In particular, they are subject to rapid crane modification, e.g. to change the boom length. Furthermore, they undesirably increase the weight of the boom and thus the entire crane.
It is therefore the task of improving a camera crane of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that it can be easily assembled, dismantled and converted with a light construction, the boom in particular being able to be assembled in different lengths.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by the features mentioned in the patent claims.
With the claimed traction cable, the aforementioned parallel guidance can be implemented in an easily adaptable and easily adjustable manner, which at the same time is associated with a substantial saving in weight and simplified handling.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is described in more detail below with reference to the figures. It shows:
Figure 1 is an overall view of the camera crane, shown partially schematically.
Figure 2 is a perspective view of the rear mounting of the pull rope of the parallel guide.
Fig. 3 is a rear view of the rear mounting of the pull rope;
Fig. 4 is a side view of the rear mounting of the pull rope;

Fig. 9 is a sectional view taken along the line IX-IX in Fig. 8, and
10 is a plan view of the camera platform according to FIG. 8.
Before details of the construction are described, the basic elements of the camera crane will first be briefly explained with reference to FIG. 1. On a support frame, which is designed here as a camera carriage 1, a boom 2 is arranged to be pivotable about a horizontal pivot axis 3. The boom consists of individual elements 4, of which a variable number can be put together depending on the desired boom length. They are connected to each other by a quick connection (not shown). At the rear end of the boom, a carrying and guiding device 5 is provided, on which counterweights 6, depending on the boom length and camera weight, are attached so that the boom is in balance.
At the front end of the boom 2, a camera platform 7 is arranged. A camera 8 is mounted on this, specifically by means of a swiveling device (not shown) which can be adjusted by remote control. The camera platform 7 itself should always remain in a horizontal position, so that the camera can be pivoted in a defined manner with respect to this horizontal platform 7.
The height of the camera can be adjusted over a wide range by pivoting the boom about its axis 3. So that the camera platform 7 maintains its (horizontal) position, it can itself be pivoted about an axis 10 which runs parallel to the cantilever axis 3.
The parallel guidance is achieved by a traction rope 9 which extends between the support frame or camera carriage 1 and the camera platform 7. The pull rope 9, which is inelastic in the longitudinal direction, runs at a defined, equal distance from both the pivot axis 3 of the boom and the axis 10 of the camera platform, and this in any pivot position of the boom. For this purpose, a first support element 11 is provided in the support frame 1 with an arcuate support surface 12 for the traction cable 9, which runs concentrically to the pivot axis 3 of the boom. The support element 11 is firmly connected to the support frame 1, and the traction cable can be fastened to this support element 11 in a manner to be described. A corresponding second support element 14 is provided on the camera platform 7 and forms a corresponding support surface there concentric to the axis 10.
With each swivel position of the boom, the pull rope 9 thus goes tangentially from the respective support surface and has a constant distance from the respective axis of rotation on both sides. This ensures that the camera platform 7 is guided parallel to itself when the boom is pivoted (cf. FIG. 1).
2 to 4 show the support element 11 on the support frame and its attachment to the support frame 1 in detail. The support element 11 has a circular sector-like drum which sits on the pivot axis 3 of the boom. The drum 11 is fixed in a rotationally fixed manner to two support jaws 17 of the supporting frame 1 by means of a holding arm 15 and a cross bar 16.
So that the pull rope 9 can be easily adapted and fastened to the different lengths of the boom 2, it is provided at intervals which correspond to the lengths of the boom elements with holding members in the form of sleeves 17 (see FIGS. 5, 7). A bracket 18 is fastened to the support element 11, into which the holding members 17 of the traction cable can be inserted and anchored in a tensile manner. For this purpose, the holder 18 has a narrowing slot 19, at the narrowing of which the respective sleeve 17 is present. A spring-loaded locking ball 20 prevents this sleeve 17 during assembly, i.e. if no tractive force is exerted, it slips backwards out of the holder 18. The pull rope can thus be inserted very easily with the holding member 17 corresponding to the boom length into the holder 18. A take-up reel 19 (cf.
Fig. 1) is provided, which can also serve as a transport roller for the traction rope when the crane is dismantled.
8 to 10, the camera platform 7 (without a camera) arranged at the front end of the boom is shown in more detail. It is essentially composed of two parts, namely a holding part 21 for the traction cable and a camera support part 22.
The already mentioned second support element 14 is arranged on the holding part 21 for the traction rope, via which the traction rope is guided. It forms an arc concentric to the axis 10. On the holding part 21, a hook 22 is also provided for hanging the front end of the traction cable 9, which is provided with a corresponding bracket 23 for this purpose. When assembling the crane, the front end of the traction cable only needs to be hooked into the hook 22.
In order to be able to adjust the position of the camera platform around two horizontal spatial axes, a length adjustment is initially provided for the pull rope. For this purpose, the hook 22 is formed as part of a lever 24 which can be pivoted ver by means of an adjusting screw 25. The position of the camera platform about the axis 10 can thus be adjusted in a simple manner. In order to be able to also adjust the camera platform along the other horizontal direction, the camera support part 22 is articulated on the holding part 21 via a corresponding pivot axis 26. The lateral inclination of the holding part 21 can thus be adjusted by means of a further set screw 27, on which an adjustment slide 28 is guided.
It is essential that the entire adjustment work on the camera platform itself can be carried out by simply adjusting the two screws 25, 27, a vial (not shown) built into the holding part 21 can always be kept in mind.
The camera platform 7 as a whole can be mounted on the foremost cantilever element by means of the same quick connection with which the cantilever elements are connected to one another.
Overall, the boom construction is stable despite its light weight, with parallel guidance of the camera platform, which can be quickly adapted to the respective needs and is easy to assemble and disassemble. The position of the camera platform can be easily re-adjusted.
