The present application has been divided from Finnish Patent 891,724, filed April 11, 1989.
The invention relates to a slide track arrangement with slide tracks each having a slide groove.
Sliding tracks are used, for example, for the purpose of fastening and moving balcony glass panes, movable wall panels and the like. On the upper or lower edge of a balcony glass pane or the like, sliders, usually sliding rollers, are attached, which slide in the sliding groove of an upper track attached to the ceiling or in the sliding groove of a lower track attached to the balcony railing or the floor.
Slideway tracks are generally supplied in full wall lengths because of unevenness in the extension joints, and it is difficult to cause the sliding surfaces to form a smooth sliding surface. Due to thermal expansion and installation, such torsion is already caused in the tracks that the sliding surfaces of the two tracks do not remain on the same level. This makes driving the castors over the joints difficult. Delivering the full length of a track that is as long as a balcony or a room to a construction site is difficult because it is too large to be carried over the stairwell to the different floors. That is why the tracks are often lifted from the outside to the balcony using a rope.
However, lifting can cause torsion in the track, whereupon its operation will no longer be flawless. Problems similar to those caused by the extension joints described above are also caused by steep joints at angular points.
The present invention has for its object to eliminate the problems described above and to provide a sliding track arrangement of the type mentioned above, in which the transitions with extensions will no longer cause problems.
The object is achieved by a sliding track arrangement with the features according to claim 1.
The extension piece has a sliding groove and one or more connecting pieces are provided for connecting the extension piece to the sliding track, which is or can be inserted into a room or rooms in the extension piece and / or the sliding track. The extension piece and the slide track are aligned at their ends and the connectors are housed in mating spaces, so that the slide groove continues from the slide track over the extension piece as a smooth groove.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the spaces which match the connecting pieces in the extension piece and / or the sliding track are profile grooves. The profile grooves are most preferably located in the walls of the sliding tracks and open outwards.
According to another more preferred embodiment of the invention, the connecting pieces are in one piece with the extension pieces, the ends of the extension piece and the sliding track abutting one another, so that the connecting pieces are pushed into the spaces mentioned in the sliding track. The connecting pieces are preferably male parts which extend parallel to the sliding track and protrude from the front ends of the extension piece and which match the profile grooves running in the walls of the sliding track. The connectors are particularly preferably male parts that protrude from both end faces of the extension piece, two at each end.
According to another preferred embodiment, the connecting pieces are separate parts which are to be inserted into grooves parallel to the sliding track in the sliding track and the extension piece. According to this embodiment, the connecting pieces are first inserted into one of the parts to be connected into the said grooves, for example into the extension piece, after which the ends of the parts are placed against one another and the connecting pieces are moved in their profile grooves, so that the joint between the parts is approximately open half the height of the connectors.
According to another preferred embodiment, the end faces of the extension piece and the sliding track that meet each other are at a right angle to the longitudinal direction of the sliding track. In this case, adverse deformations due to thermal expansion are most effectively eliminated across the structure.
According to another preferred embodiment, the extension piece consists of hard plastic or aluminum. The sliding track is generally made of aluminum. The outer dimensions of the extension piece can advantageously be made larger than the outer dimensions of the sliding track, whereby a robust joint is obtained. In terms of dimensions, it is essential that the sliding groove continues smoothly from the sliding track to the extension piece, so that the sliding rollers can move in them without hindrance.
According to another preferred embodiment, the extension piece is straight or branched, for example a T-shaped branch or a branch bent at an angle, for example an angle of 90 °, 45 ° or 135 °. A right-angled extension piece is a suitable angle piece that is required in balcony glazing. In the case of extension pieces of the branched type, a protruding part is preferably provided at the branching point, which promotes the transition from the continuous sliding track to the branching track.
By means of the extension piece according to the invention, the sliding tracks can be lengthened and an angle point or a branching point can be formed in them without coupling problems.
Another advantage of the extension piece is that when choosing the tracks for a specific balcony or other space, accuracy of millimeters or centimeters is not important; the cutting to the final dimensions can take place on the spot where the coupling to an angle piece or a straight extension piece according to the invention can be carried out easily and with good results, so that the sliding groove is smooth, without any shoulders which could impede the sliding , continues.
The fact that the slide tracks can be cut to their final lengths on site makes storage and transport of the tracks much easier. Instead of the need to store and transport long tracks that can easily be damaged, they can be stored and transported in shorter and standardized lengths.
The invention is described below with the aid of preferred exemplary embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings. Show it:
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the extension pieces according to the invention in a sliding track arrangement.
2 is an illustrative diagram of part of an upper track arrangement of a balcony, in which the extension pieces are in the form of an angle piece and a branched piece;
3 shows a plan view of a branched extension piece according to the invention on a smaller scale:
FIG. 4 shows a front view of the branched extension piece according to FIG. 3;
Fig. 5 is a plan view of an angle extension piece;
FIG. 6 shows a front view of the angle extension piece according to FIG. 5;
Fig. 7 is a plan view of a straight extension piece according to the invention, and
8 shows a front view of the extension piece according to FIG. 7.
The corresponding parts are indicated in all figures by the same reference numbers. Fig. 1 shows a sliding track arrangement in which some parts are shown pulled apart and other parts are shown coupled to the final shape. T-shaped extension pieces 4 are coupled to the sliding track 1 shown in the middle of the figure, from which connecting pieces 5 project. The sliding tracks to be coupled to the extension pieces are still separated from the extension pieces in one direction. In the end faces of the slide rails 1, slide grooves 6 and profile grooves 9 are visible for the connecting pieces 5, which have the shape of male parts. There are angle extension pieces 3 at the corners of the sliding track arrangement. The lower right corner of the figure shows a straight extension piece 8 separated from the sliding track.
Fig. 2 shows part of Fig. 1 in an enlarged plan view. It shows the sliding track 1 and the balcony glazing sliding rollers 2, which slide in the track. As an example, casters 2 are shown in different positions, but they are not part of the invention. The track arrangement has an angle piece 3 according to the invention, the joints between the angle piece and the sliding track 1 being indicated by lines 3a and 3b, and additionally a branched piece 4 according to the invention, the joint of which is indicated by lines 4a and 4b. With regard to the angle piece 3 and the branched piece 4, the points of the joints that would be required if the extension pieces according to the invention were not used are also shown with dashed lines. The steep joint at the angle point is labeled 3c and the steep joints of the branched piece with 4c.
The joints 3a, 3b and 4a, 4b are straight, smooth extension joints which do not hinder the movement of the guide rollers 2 over the joints in the sliding groove.
3 and 4 has connecting pieces 5 which are formed in one piece with them. These connecting pieces are located below the sliding groove 6 of the extension piece and fit together with the profile grooves 9, which are located at the corresponding height in the sliding track 1 on both sides. Reference number 7 indicates a protruding part at the branching point, which favors the engagement of the roller in the branching slide groove.
The angle piece 3 according to FIGS. 5 and 6, like the T-branch piece 4, has connecting pieces 5 which are formed in one piece with the angle piece. The angle piece 3 corresponds completely to the T-junction piece, except that it has only two legs which form a right angle with one another and not three like the T-junction piece.
The extension piece 8 according to FIGS. 7 and 8 also has connecting pieces 5 which are formed in one piece with the extension piece. The straight extension shown here can be used anywhere within the length of a straight track. With this piece it is possible to couple a track of any length to another track that has been cut to a suitable length.
The cross section of the extension piece 3, 4, 8 can have larger external dimensions than the cross section of the slide track 1. The slide track can go partially or completely into the extension piece, which creates a robust joint. It is only essential that the sliding groove 6 is left smooth without any threshold points. In this case, thermal expansion at the joint will not cause any stress and the joint will not open.
It is clear to a person skilled in the art that the various embodiments of the invention can vary within the scope of the claims.
