Abstract
The tie for keeping food together during preparation, cooking, roasting or grilling, consists of a flexible plastic or stainless steel strip (1) which has a row of holes (11) in along its length. One end of the strip (1) is hooked (2), while the other end has a tongue (4) wide enough to fit into one of the holes (11). The strip (1) has a handle (3), near the tongue (4), consisting of two ridged flaps sticking up at right angles from the strip's surface. USE/ADVANTAGE - The re-useable tie for using round meat for example does not cut into the meat during cooking.
Description
Die vorliegende Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Bindegerät zum Zusammenhalten von Koch- oder Bratgut während der Zubereitung durch Kochen, Braten oder Grillieren.
Bisher wurde Geflügel, Rollbraten oder Spargel mit Hilfe einer Schnur zusammengehalten. Um ein Hühnchen über offenem Feuer zu grillieren, werden die Flügel und Schenkel zusammengebunden, damit sie nicht zu weit abstehen, dem Feuer zu nahe kommen und anbrennen. Ein Rollbraten würde ohne Zusammenhalten auseinanderfallen. Spargeln werden beim Kochen zusammengehalten, damit man sie nicht einzeln aus dem Wasser herausholen muss.
Die bisher dazu verwendete Schnur hat den Nachteil, dass sie in das Brat- oder Kochgut stark einschneidet, beim Braten oder Grillieren gar eingebacken wird und sich nur mühsam wieder entfernen lässt.
Die Erfindung hat sich zur Aufgabe gestellt, ein Gerät zu schaffen, das diese Nachteile vermeidet und zudem kein Weg werfartikel wie eine Schnur ist, sondern wiederverwendbar ist.
Die Erfindung löst diese Aufgabe mit einem Bindegerät, das die Merkmale des Patentanspruches 1 aufweist.
Da das Gerät die Form eines Bandes aufweist, schneidet es bei gleicher Bindekraft weniger tief in das Fleisch ein wie eine Schnur. Da das Band über seine ganze Länge mit \ffnungen versehen ist, deckt es das Fleisch nicht entlang seiner vollen Breite ab und gestattet eine einwandfreie Zubereitung.
In den beigefügten Zeichnungen sind zwei Ausführungsbeispiele der Erfindung dargestellt und ihre Verwendung ist anhand einer weiteren Figur erläutert.

Fig. 3 das Bindegerät nach Figur 1 in Gebrauchslage;
Fig. 4-6 Ansichten wie bei Figur 1-3 einer Variante des Bindegerätes;
Fig. 7 eine Verwendung des Bindegerätes beim Grillieren eines Hühnchens.
Die Figuren 1 und 2 zeigen ein Bindegerät in Ruhelage. Es besteht im wesentlichen aus einem gelochten Band 1 aus rostfreiem Stahl mit einer Dicke von 0,1 bis 0,2 mm, so dass es sich leicht biegen lässt und um die zusammenzubindende Ware geschlungen werden kann. Das Band kann auch aus Kunststoff hergestellt sein, wenn es dem Zusammenhalten von Kochgut dient.
Das Band 1 ist mit einer Reihe von \ffnungen 11 versehen. Beim angelegten Band kann, insbesondere wenn es sich beim Bratgut um Fleisch handelt, dieses etwas aus jenen \ffnungen hervorquillen. Dies gibt dem Band auf dem Bratgut Halt, sodass es nicht verrutschen kann. An einem Ende ist aus dem Band selber eine Lippe ausgestanzt und aus der Bandebene hochgebogen, so dass sie einen Haken 2 bildet.
An diesem Ende ist auch ein aus dem Bandmaterial selber geformter Griff 3 angebracht. Zwei Laschen 31 sind aus dem örtlich breiteren Material senkrecht zum Band nach oben gebogen. Um deren Griffigkeit zu erhöhen sind sie mit eingeprägten Rippen 32 oder \ffnungen versehen. Am anderen Bandende ist jenes in eine Zunge 4 ausgeformt, deren Breite so gewählt ist, dass sie in eine der \ffnungen 11 eingesteckt werden kann.
Das Band ist im Bereich 12 unmittelbar vor der Zunge 4 etwas verbreitert. Beim um das Bratgut angelegten Band überlappt dieser Bereich 12 das darunterliegende Band seitlich. Deshalb kann es zum Lösen dort gut ergriffen werden, sodass sich die Zunge 4 mit Leichtigkeit aus der \ffnung herausziehen lässt, in welche sie eingesteckt ist.
Statt den Griff 3 einstückig aus dem Material der Zunge herzustellen, kann er auch separat geformt sein und beispielsweise durch Punktschweissungen mit dem Band 1 verbunden sein. Dies verbilligt die Herstellung, weil dann das Band fast ohne Abfall aus bandförmigem Material gestanzt werden kann. Bei einstückiger Fertigung muss dagegen das Band mit den Laschen 31 aus einer Platte gestanzt werden. Die Figuren 3 und 7 zeigen die Verwendung des Bindegerätes nach Figur 1 und 2. Die Figur 3 zeigt, wie eine der \ffnungen 11 hinter den nicht einsehbaren Haken am Griff 3 eingehängt ist. Das nach der Umschlingung vorstehende Ende mit der Zunge 4 wird anschliessend nach unten gebogen und die Zunge 4 in eine der nicht benützten \ffnungen 11 hineingesteckt, wie durch den Pfeil angedeutet ist.
Die Figuren 4 bis 6 zeigen eine Variante des vorgehend be schriebenen Gerätes. Gleiche Teile sind mit denselben Bezugszahlen angedeutet. Der Unterschied besteht bei dieser Ausführung des Bandes darin, dass die Zunge 4 am selben Ende wie der Griff 3 angeordnet ist, während der Haken 2 sich am gegenüberliegenden Ende befindet.
Dadurch verhält sich das Gerät beim Gebrauch ein wenig anders, nämlich so wie in Figur 6 dargestellt. Beim Umschlingen eines Koch- oder Bratgutes, bei dem der Haken 2 in eines der Löcher des Bandes eingreift, verbleibt das freie Ende mit dem Griff 3 und mit der über den Griff hinausragende Zunge 4. Diese lässt sich wie vorgehend beschrieben in eines der Löcher 11 einschieben.
Die Figur 7 zeigt die Verwendung bei einem Brathühnchen H, das auf dem Bratspiess S gehalten ist. Die Flügel und Schenkel sind je mit einem Band 1 zusammengehalten.
Anstatt das Band mit runden \ffnungen 11 zu versehen, können die \ffnungen auch drei- oder viereckig oder von beliebiger Form sein.
The present invention relates to a binding device for holding together cooked or roasted food during preparation by cooking, roasting or grilling.
So far, poultry, roast roast or asparagus have been held together with a string. In order to grill a chicken over an open fire, the wings and thighs are tied together so that they do not protrude too far, come too close to the fire and burn. A roll roast would fall apart without sticking together. Asparagus are held together during cooking so that you don't have to take them out of the water individually.
The cord previously used for this has the disadvantage that it severely cuts into the food to be roasted or cooked, is even baked when roasting or grilling and can only be removed with difficulty.
The invention has set itself the task of creating a device that avoids these disadvantages and is also not a throwaway article like a cord, but is reusable.
The invention solves this problem with a binding device having the features of claim 1.
Since the device is in the form of a band, it cuts less deep into the flesh than a cord with the same binding force. Since the tape is provided with openings over its entire length, it does not cover the meat along its full width and allows perfect preparation.
Two exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown in the accompanying drawings and their use is explained with reference to a further figure.

Figures 1 and 2 show a binding device in the rest position. It consists essentially of a perforated band 1 made of stainless steel with a thickness of 0.1 to 0.2 mm, so that it can be bent easily and can be wrapped around the goods to be bound. The band can also be made of plastic if it is used to hold the food together.
The band 1 is provided with a series of openings 11. When the belt is in place, especially if the food to be roasted is meat, it may well protrude from those openings. This gives the belt a hold on the food so that it cannot slip. At one end a lip is punched out of the band itself and bent up from the band plane so that it forms a hook 2.
At this end a handle 3 formed from the strip material itself is also attached. Two tabs 31 are bent upwards from the locally wider material perpendicular to the band. In order to increase their grip, they are provided with embossed ribs 32 or openings. At the other end of the band, that is formed into a tongue 4, the width of which is selected so that it can be inserted into one of the openings 11.
The band is widened somewhat in the area 12 directly in front of the tongue 4. When the belt is placed around the food to be fried, this area 12 laterally overlaps the belt underneath. Therefore, it can be easily gripped there for loosening, so that the tongue 4 can be pulled out of the opening into which it is inserted with ease.
Instead of producing the handle 3 in one piece from the material of the tongue, it can also be formed separately and connected to the band 1, for example by spot welding. This makes production cheaper, because the strip can then be punched from the strip-like material with almost no waste. In the case of one-piece production, however, the band with the tabs 31 must be punched out of a plate. FIGS. 3 and 7 show the use of the binding device according to FIGS. 1 and 2. FIG. 3 shows how one of the openings 11 is attached to the handle 3 behind the non-visible hooks. The end with the tongue 4 protruding after the looping is then bent downward and the tongue 4 is inserted into one of the unused openings 11, as indicated by the arrow.
Figures 4 to 6 show a variant of the device described above be. The same parts are indicated with the same reference numbers. The difference in this embodiment of the band is that the tongue 4 is arranged at the same end as the handle 3, while the hook 2 is at the opposite end.
As a result, the device behaves a little differently during use, namely as shown in FIG. 6. When wrapping a cooked or roasted food, in which the hook 2 engages in one of the holes in the belt, the free end remains with the handle 3 and with the tongue 4 projecting beyond the handle insert.
FIG. 7 shows the use with a fried chicken H which is held on the roasting spit S. The wings and legs are held together with a band 1.
Instead of providing the band with round openings 11, the openings can also be triangular or square or of any shape.
