Abstract
The invention concerns the mechanism for locking and releasing the breech of a Martini type rifle. The mechanism consists of a rod (7) which is attached to the firing pin (14). A compression spring (8) fits around the rod and is held compressed by the lower part of a slider (3) to which the rod (7) is attached by a nut (11). This slider is held in the locking position by an L shaped lever (5) with a notch (6) which engages the lower end of the slider (3). The mechanism can be released by depressing a spring-loaded push button fitted in the slider. The push button swings the L shaped lever downwards to disengage the notch (6). USE - Breech locking and release mechanism.
Description
BESCHREIBUNG

DESCRIPTION
The frame (1) with thread for the shaft fastening screw (2) screwed onto the martini box (19) houses a cocking slide (3) with a push-in button (4), which serves the purpose of unclamping from a relaxed position. Furthermore, an angle lever frame (5) with a clamping catch (6), which allows the clamping slide (3) to snap into the cocked position. Furthermore, a guide rod (7) is surrounded by a spiral tension spring (8), the guide rod (7) passing through the bore (9) on the tension slide lower part (10), the spiral tension spring (8) resting against the front of the latter. Behind the cocking slide (3), the guide rod (7) is held by a nut (11). At the front end of the guide rod (7), a joint piece (12) is attached, which is attached to the ignition pin (14) by means of a pin (13).
This construction allows the martini rifle to be loaded, but remains relaxed and is only cocked before the shot is fired by pushing the cocking slide (3) forward. In this process, the spiral tension spring (8) is brought under tension and the catch (15) on the angle lever frame (5) engages. To relax, press the button (4) on the cocking slide (3) against the pressure of the button spring (20) and the cross pin (17) located in a cross hole (16) presses on the angle lever frame (5) so that the catch (15 ) disengages and the cocking slide (3) returns to the release position. The spiral tension spring (8) is now relaxed. When the shot is fired, the cocking slide (3) remains in the catch (15) and after reloading, the device is cocked.
The usual process of the weapon has remained, only by cocking and relaxing the safety is the highest possible.
