Abstract

A waterproof watch case has a casing (1) with a groove (9) into which is fixed a glass (10). The casing is composed of an inner ring (2) made from a base metal or plastic, and an external ring (3) made from precious metal and which forms a cover over the inner ring. The inner ring has a shoulder (5) which fits into a groove (4) in the outer ring. The back of the watch is fixed in place by a screw (19) which screws into the inner ring, locking the movement in place and compressing the watertight joints (16a,16b). A further modification is to make the back out of two pieces, an exterior ring of precious metal with a glass or non-metallic plate inside it.
