DESCRIPTION
La présente invention a pour objet un accessoire vétérinaire pour pansement.
Les soins à apporter aux animaux blessés à une patte, notamment aux animaux domestiques, tels que chiens et chats, sont com pliqués par le fait que l'animal tente de se débarrasser des pansements qui enveloppent sa patte blessée, comme de tout bandage ou emplâtre antiseptique recouvrant notamment des points de suture.
Vu la nature de tels pansements, réalisés le plus souvent en un matériau Iéger, l'animal parvient aisément à s'en débarrasser.
On a tenté d'obvier à cet inconvénient en munissant les animaux blessés d'une collerette tronconique rigide qui entoure leur cou et s'étend vers l'avant, la tête de l'animal étant logée au fond de ladite collerette qui l'empêche d'accéder avec ses dents à la patte blessée.
De telles collerettes présentent de sérieux inconvénients en ce sens qu'elles stressent l'animal, l'empêchent de manger et de faire sa toilette, lui occasionnant, si le traitement doit s'étendre sur une certaine durée, une réelle souffrance.
Le but de la présente invention est de remédier à ces inconvénients en fournissant un moyen empêchant un animal de s'attaquer à un pansement appEqué à l'une ou l'autre de ses pattes sans cependant lui occasionner un surcroît de gêne.
Ce but est atteint grâce aux moyens définis dans la revendication 1.
Le dessin représente, à titre d'exemple, une forme d'exécution de l'objet de l'invention.

L'accessoire représenté comprend une gaine 1, en tissu souple, perméable à l'air, fermée à son extrémité antérieure, laquelle est en outre munie d'un renforcement 2 intérieur, afin de ne pas constituer, extérieurement, une saillie donnant prise aux dents de l'animal.
La gaine 1 présente, à son extrémité postérieure, deux échancrures longitudinales 3, diamétralement opposées, ménageant deux lambeaux la en forme de bandes aux extrémités de chacun desquels est fixée une attache constituée par un ruban souple 4 offrant une bonne résistance à la traction. L'extrémité postérieure de la gaine 1 est en outre munie d'une ganse 5, réalisée à l'aide du même matériel que les attaches 4.
La gaine 1 est destinée à être enfilée sur la patte blessée et pansée d'un animal, et à y être maintenue à l'aide des attaches 4.
C'est ainsi que, dans l'exemple d'application de la fig. 2, la gaine 1 est engagée sur la patte antérieure gauche d'un chien sur les flancs duquel ont été tendues les deux bandes la qui se croisent sur son dos. Les attaches 4 sont engagées dans la ganse 5 dans laquelle elles se croisent pour ensuite faire un tour supplémentaire autour de la partie antérieure du corps de l'animal et être enfirr nouées l'une à l'autre en 6.
La partie de la gaine désignée par lb, opposée à la ganse 5, obtenue grâce au fait que l'échancrure 3 postérieure est moins profonde que l'échancrure antérieure, s'étend jusqu'au-dessus du coude de l'animal, afin que celui-ci ne puisse pas enlever la gaine, même couché, et maintient les deux lambeaux la fermement autour du corps
Dans l'exemple d'emploi de la fig. 3, la gaine 1 est engagée sur la patte postérieure droite d'un chien, les bandes la s'étendant sur les flancs de celui-ci et se croisant sur son dos. Les deux attaches 4 passent de part et d'autre de la partie postérieure du corps de l'animal et sont maintenues au niveau de la partie antérieure du corps par des passants 7 que présente une sangle supplémentaire, indépendante de la gaine, désignée par 8, entourant le corps de l'animal à l'instar d'une ceinture.
L'attache 4 opposée à la patte blessée passe dans la ganse S sous le ventre de l'animal, afin de maintenir la gaine en place quels que soient les mouvements de l'animal.
Les attaches 4 sont nouées en 6 sur le poitrail de celui-ci en se croisant dans une boucle 9 dont est munie la sangle 8 qui passe entre les pattes antérieures de l'animal.
La gaine sera réalisée de préférence en un coton ou en un tissu synthétique souple, lisse et résistant, perméable à l'air pour laisser respirer les blessures, le renforcement terminal, qui se trouve placé sous la patte de l'animal lorsque la gaine est en place, étant formé d'un tissu plus solide et imperméable, cousu intérieurement.
La gaine conviendra indistinctement aux pattes avant et arrière et gauche et droite de l'animal.
La dimension de la gaine sera telle qu'elle n'exerce pas de pression sur la patte de l'animal, mais soit engagée de façon lâche sur celle-ci pour ne pas comprimer la blessure ni gêner l'animal dans ses mouvements.
En variante, la gaine pourra être munie de plus de deux attaches 4 et de plus d'une ganse 5, si la nécessité de son attachage l'exige.
La gaine pourra être réalisée en plusieurs dimensions, de façon à convenir à des animaux de taille différente. Elle sera livrée de préférence dans des paquets qui en contiendront au moins deux, afin de permettre de la changer lorsqu'elle est mouillée ou sale, étant entendu, cependant, qu'elle se lavera aisément et séchera en quelques heures.

The present invention relates to a veterinary accessory for a dressing.
The care to be given to animals injured by a paw, in particular domestic animals, such as dogs and cats, are complicated by the fact that the animal tries to get rid of the dressings which surround its injured paw, like any bandage or plaster. antiseptic covering in particular stitches.
Given the nature of such dressings, most often made of a light material, the animal easily manages to get rid of them.
We tried to overcome this drawback by providing injured animals with a rigid frustoconical collar which surrounds their neck and extends forward, the animal's head being housed at the bottom of said collar which prevents it to access the injured paw with his teeth.
Such collars have serious drawbacks in that they stress the animal, prevent it from eating and washing, causing it, if the treatment must extend over a certain period, real suffering.
The object of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks by providing a means preventing an animal from attacking a dressing applied to one or other of its legs without, however, causing it additional discomfort.
This object is achieved by the means defined in claim 1.
The drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the subject of the invention.

The accessory shown comprises a sheath 1, made of flexible fabric, permeable to air, closed at its anterior end, which is further provided with an internal reinforcement 2, so as not to constitute, externally, a projection giving grip to the animal teeth.
The sheath 1 has, at its rear end, two longitudinal notches 3, diametrically opposite, providing two strips in the form of bands at the ends of each of which is attached a fastener constituted by a flexible tape 4 offering good tensile strength. The rear end of the sheath 1 is further provided with a loop 5, produced using the same material as the fasteners 4.
The sheath 1 is intended to be threaded onto the injured and bandaged leg of an animal, and to be held there using the fasteners 4.
Thus, in the application example of FIG. 2, the sheath 1 is engaged on the left front paw of a dog on the flanks of which the two bands 1a which cross on its back have been stretched. The fasteners 4 are engaged in the loop 5 in which they intersect in order to then make an additional turn around the front part of the animal's body and to be buried tied to each other at 6.
The part of the sheath designated by lb, opposite the loop 5, obtained by virtue of the fact that the posterior notch 3 is less deep than the anterior notch, extends up above the elbow of the animal, so that the latter cannot remove the sheath, even when lying down, and keeps the two flaps firmly around the body
In the example of use of fig. 3, the sheath 1 is engaged on the right hind paw of a dog, the bands extending over the flanks of the latter and crossing on its back. The two fasteners 4 pass on either side of the rear part of the body of the animal and are held at the level of the front part of the body by passers-by 7 which has an additional strap, independent of the sheath, designated by 8 , surrounding the animal's body like a belt.
The fastener 4 opposite the injured leg passes through the loop S under the animal's belly, in order to keep the sheath in place whatever the movements of the animal.
The fasteners 4 are knotted at 6 on the chest thereof by crossing in a loop 9 which is provided with the strap 8 which passes between the forelegs of the animal.
The sheath will preferably be made of cotton or a flexible, smooth and resistant synthetic fabric, breathable to let wounds breathe, the terminal reinforcement, which is placed under the paw of the animal when the sheath is in place, being formed of a more solid and waterproof fabric, sewn on the inside.
The sheath will fit indistinctly on the front and rear and left and right legs of the animal.
The size of the sheath will be such that it does not exert pressure on the paw of the animal, but is loosely engaged thereon so as not to compress the wound or hinder the animal in its movements.
Alternatively, the sheath may be provided with more than two fasteners 4 and more than one strap 5, if the need for its attachment requires it.
The sheath can be produced in several dimensions, so as to suit animals of different sizes. It will preferably be delivered in packages that will contain at least two, in order to allow it to be changed when wet or dirty, it being understood, however, that it will wash easily and dry within a few hours.
