Beim Bauen von Hindernissen für den Pferdespringsport werden ca. 10 cm dicke Stangen auf Auflagehalter, sogenannte «Löffel» gelegt. Die Löffel selbst werden an Vertikalschienen oder Ständern befestigt. Es sind schon verschiedene Löffel-Konstruktionen bekannt: so gibt es seit vielen Jahren den sogenannten Zürcher-Löffel, bestehend aus einer leicht gerundeten oder gebogenen Tragplatte und zwei an dieser Platte befestigten Bolzen, mit denen er sich an Ständern, die paarweise angeordnete, horizontale Löcher aufweisen, durch einfaches Einstecken befestigen lässt. Der Nachteil dieser Auflagehalter besteht darin, dass sie für Holzständer entwik-kelt worden sind, die mit entsprechenden zum Einstecken der Bolzen bestimmten, üblicherweise im Abstand von 5 cm übereinander angeordneten Lochpaaren ausgerüstet sind. Die ins Holz gebohrten Löcher sind ungenau, das Holz arbeitet, d.h. reisst oder quillt oder verzieht sich.
