BESCHREIBUNG
DESCRIPTION
There are various traps for catching and killing rodents such as B. mice. Most of these traps have the disadvantage that after catching an animal, the trapped and / or killed animal has to be removed from the trap and the trap itself has to be re-tensioned in order to be ready to catch the next animal. With such traps, therefore, no more than one animal can be caught and killed without additional intervention.
However, there is a need for a trap with which several animals can be caught without additional supervision and interventions, the training of course having to be such that there is no risk that further animals are prevented from catching themselves by the animals already caught allow. This problem is now solved with the trap according to the present invention.
It is characterized by the fact that it has a container that is open at the top and smooth on the inside, the bottom of which is at least as large as the opening, and a walkway that is articulated in the area of the opening edge and that can be folded down into the container the horizontal position can be held, in which position the free end of the catwalk is located in the central region of the container opening, in the vicinity of the free catwalk end an organ for actuating the electromagnetically actuated latch which brings about the release of the catwalk is arranged, and furthermore an electrically actuable reset mechanism is present to return the folded down catwalk back to the horizontal position held by the bolt.
Such a trap itself is used to catch an animal, so that it is killed immediately, the container must either be partially filled with water so that the animals drown, if they are not swimmers, or it can be filled with an oxygen-free gas, such as B. be filled with CO2, which can be achieved simply by placing a piece of dry ice in the container. If there is no wind
If the contents of the container are mixed, a lower oxygen-free zone will immediately form in the container, which on the one hand causes the rapid death of fallen animals and on the other hand prevents decomposition, for which oxygen is required.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the accompanying drawing. In the drawing, FIG. 1 shows a vertical section through a trap buried in the ground, FIG. 2 shows a plan view of a trap, but without a roof, and FIG. 3 shows a detail of the catwalk on a larger scale.
1 with an open-top container is designated, which is buried up to its edge la in the bottom 2 Although the container shown has a round floor plan, the floor plan can also be angular, z. B. be square.
The inner walls should be smooth so that the animals that have fallen into the container cannot climb out. It is useful, as shown in the drawing, if the bottom is larger than the opening, in other words if the container narrows upwards, i.e. H. the wall is overhanging. In the area of the opening edge 1 a, a catwalk 3 is pivotally mounted by means of two shaft ends 8. It is held in the position shown by a bolt 6 which can be retracted against the force of a spring 5 by the electromagnet 4. The web 3 is so long that its free end 3a is in the central region of the container opening. In the vicinity of the free end 3a, the web 3 has an organ which serves to actuate the electromagnet which brings about the release of the catwalk.
In the exemplary embodiment shown, this organ is designed as a capacitive plate 7, which is connected via an electrical conductor to one of the shaft ends 8 mounted in plastic bearings, from which a line leads to the control box 9. In addition to a voltage source, i.e. a battery or an accumulator, this houses a switch that can be controlled by changing the capacitive conditions of the plate 7, with which the electromagnet 4 can be connected to the voltage source and can be achieved in such a way that the latch 6 counteracts the Force of the spring 5 is withdrawn.
This bolt has three specific positions: firstly, a middle position, in which it is shown in FIG. 3, where its front end 6a abuts the catwalk 3, secondly, the position in which it is held by the coil of the excited electromagnet 4, to release the catwalk, and third, the position in which it is brought by the spring 5 when the catwalk is tilted down. In this position, it closes a circuit housed in the control box 9, the mode of operation of which will be described below.
One of the two shaft ends 8 is connected via an electromagnetic coupling accommodated in a casing 10 to a transmission also arranged there and via this to an electric motor 11. The clutch and motor are now switched on by the aforementioned circuit when the bolt 6 is in the foremost position and switched off shortly after this bolt has been pushed back from its foremost position.
A roof 12 is set up above the buried container 1, which among other things has the task of preventing rain water and falling dirt from entering the container 1. This roof also serves as a carrier for a bait holder 13 or an acoustic bait.
From the foregoing, the operation of the case described follows as follows:
If, as shown in Fig. 1, the trap is buried in the ground, a piece of dry ice is present in the container and a bait is attached to the bait holder or an acoustic bait is in operation instead, an appropriate rodent is occasionally attracted who will try to get to the bait on the catwalk. When it gets into the area of the capacitive plate 7, the change in capacitance switches on the electromagnet 4, which pulls back the latch 6, thereby releasing the catwalk and tipping it down. As a result, the rodent falls into container 1, where it is quickly killed because of the CO2 gas present there.
As soon as the capacitive plate 7 has regained its original potential, the electromagnet 4 is de-energized and the bolt is moved by the force of the spring 5 to the foremost position, in which it switches on the switching magnetism for resetting the catwalk 3, namely the electromagnetic clutch in the Housing 10 and the drive motor 11. As soon as the catwalk has returned to its drawn position, the bolt 6 is again in the position shown in the drawing, whereby the reset mechanism is switched off again. This way the trap is ready for use again.
