Description

Gegenstand der Erfindung ist eine Vorrichtung zum Fangen von Bienenschwärmen. Der Zweck der Erfindung ist, die Einrichtung so zu treffen, daß entweder der ganze Bienenschwarm oder die Bienenkönigin allein gefangen werden kann, wobei im Gegensatz zu den bisher bekannten Vorrichtungen der Bienenschwarm erst nach dem Schwärmen bei der Rückkehr in den Bienenstock durch freiwilliges Ansetzen bei der in einem besonderen Raum der Vorrichtung zurückgehaltenen Bienenkönigin gefangen wird. Zu diesem Zweck besteht die Vorrichtung im wesentlichen aus einem vor einem beliebigen Bienenstock angeordneten kastenartigen Behälter o. dgl.; in dem ein nach außen durch ein Gitter oder Netzwerk abgeschlossener Raum vorgesehen ist und ferner Klappen derart angeordnet sind, daß die Bienen, sofern sie einzeln den Bienenstock verlassen, ungehindert ins Freie fliegen können, während beim Ausschwärmen des ganzen Bienenschwarmes die Klappen o. dgl. durch den Schwarm selbst so eingestellt werden, daß der Schwarm gezwungen wird, in den durch das Gitter abgeschlossenen Raum einzutreten. Die Öffnungen in dem Gitter sind so bemessen, daß nur die Arbeitsbienen durch das Gitter ins Freie gelangen können, während die Bienenkönigin und auch die Drohnen in dem Raum zurückgehalten werden. An der den unmittelbaren Austritt des Bienenschwarmes aus dem Bienenstock ins Freie verhindernden Platte ist erfindungsgemäß eine Sperrvorrichtung vorgesehen, die die Klappe in der geschlossenen Stellung hält, so daß die von dem Schwärmen zurückkehrenden Bienen nicht in den Bienenstock eintreten können, sondern veranlaßt werden, sich in dem Raum in welchem die Bienenkönigin gefangen ist. oder vor· dem Gitter abzusetzen. Da auch die Klappe |f geschlossen ist, wird also in diesem Falle den von dem Schwärmen zurückkehrenden Bienen der Eingang in den Bienenstock versperrt. Die Bienen kriechen dann in den Raum h, in welchem sich die Bienenkönigin befindet, und füllen diesen Raum aus und setzen sich, falls hier nicht genügend Platz ist, auch außerhalb des Gitters / in der Vorrichtung an.
