BESCHREIBUNG
Fig. 2 eine Teildraufsicht in Richtung A von Fig. 1,
Fig. 4 eine Ausführungsvariante der Flanschverbindung entsprechend Fig. 1.
DESCRIPTION
The invention relates to a flange connection, as characterized in the preamble of claim 1.
A corresponding flange connection is known from CH-A-643 341, the flanges of which are made of plastic. A flange made of plastic is known to have an excessive elongation compared to a flange made of metal with the tightening torques of the screws that are customary in practice, so that the screws can be tightened even further, even if the required pressure on the contact surfaces or on the seal already exists is reached. There is no noticeable resistance for the practitioner when the screws are tightened after the sealing surfaces are in place, so that the result is severe deflection and overstressing of the plastic flanges.
The object of the present invention is to provide a flange connection of the type mentioned at the outset, which has means for stopping or preventing the deflection of the plastic flanges when the contact pressure required for sealing is reached, and an overloading of the plastic flanges by a noticeable and visible display to prevent.
According to the invention, this is solved by the characterizing features of claim 1.
Particularly advantageous embodiments of the invention are characterized in the dependent claims.
The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing, for example, and described below. Show it:
1 shows a flange connection in partial longitudinal section with flanges of the same design on both sides,
2 is a partial plan view in the direction A of FIG. 1,
Fig. 3 is a partial side view of the outer flange ring alone in the direction B of Fig. 1 and
4 shows a variant of the flange connection corresponding to FIG. 1.
1 and 2 show a flange connection for two tubular parts 1, 2, each with a collar 3, 4 between which a seal 5 is arranged. The two tubular parts 1, 2 can be part of a fitting, a fitting, a pipeline or a collar sleeve, which are preferably made of plastic.
Each flange of the flange connection consists of a loose outer flange ring 6 and a loose inner flange ring 7 abutting the collar 3 or 4. The inner flange ring 7 has an outer conical peripheral surface 8 and the outer flange ring 6 has an inner conical peripheral surface 9, which in the assembled state of the flange connection.
The outer flange ring 6 is provided with through holes 10 for clamping screws 11 which are evenly distributed on the circumference, the clamping screws 11 simultaneously coming to lie in recesses 12 in the inner flange ring 7.
The inner flange ring 7 is provided with a continuous radial slot in the region of a recess 12 and also has a groove on the opposite inner circumference in the region of a recess 12, which forms a weak point acting as a film hinge. As a result, the inner flange ring 7 can be bent open and placed radially on the tubular parts 1 or 2, the outer flange ring 6 first having to be pushed over the respective collar 3 or 4 so that the flange connection can be made by means of the screws 11.
In the area of each or every second through hole 10, the outer flange ring 6 has stop webs 13 on the outer circumference, which are preferably designed to be flush with the outer contour as circular ring sectors (see FIG. 3).
2, viewed in plan view, each stop web 13 is step-shaped, which creates a part 13a with the stop dimension H and a part 13b with the stop dimension h. The shoulder edge 14 between the two parts 13a, 13b preferably runs approximately in the radial direction approximately with the center of the through hole 10 for the connecting screws (see also FIG. 3), the offset to the center of the through hole 10 being slight and only required for easier assembly is.
In the flange connection shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the flange and the counter-flange are of exactly the same design, the stop webs 13 being arranged so as to engage with one another with the step-shaped shoulder. The dimensions H and h are determined such that when the abutment surfaces 15 and 16 lie against one another, the entire flange connection by the screws 11 has such a tension that the contact pressure required for a perfect seal against the flow medium is present on the seal 5.
4 shows a variant of the flange connection, in which a fixed flange 20 is arranged as a counter flange on one of the two tubular parts 2.
The seal 5 is arranged between the collar 3 and the flange 20. The outer flange ring 6 corresponds to the embodiment shown in FIG. 1. The abutment surface 15 of the abutment web 13 or its portion 13a bears against an end face 21 of the flange 20 when clamped by the tensioning screws 11. This embodiment variant actually determines the dimension H of the stop web 13, the dimension h for the offset portion 13a resulting from the distance between two identical opposite flange rings 7 with the dimension H. The optimal mass H, h are preferably determined by experiments.
When the screws 11 are tightened, a strong increase in torque occurs after the stop webs 13 abut against the counter flange or on the other stop web, as a result of which the required maximum tightening torque can be determined. The visual inspection for the abutting surfaces also shows that the required pre-tension of the flange connection has been reached.
The two flange rings 6 and 7 are produced as injection molded parts made of a thermoplastic material, the outer flange ring 6 additionally having an annular reinforcement 17 made of glass fibers impregnated with polyester on the outer circumference.
