Abstract

The needle hole, in the needle plate of a zig-zag sewing machine, is expanded on the left side, as seen in the direction of stitching. ADVANTAGE - The appts. gives an accurate positioning of the lower thread, when stitching in a straight line at the extreme left setting, such as when sewing a sliding clasp fastener into place on a garment.
