Abstract

Patches of portable turf comprise natural grass rooted in a layer of humus on an underlying support which is permeable and sufficiently rigid and durable to allow the turf to be relocated as desired. Specifically, the support may be a porous concrete, based on an aggregate of expanded clay, or metallic or of a plastics material. The humus may include one or more layers of a flexible plastics material. The support may include side-walls, pref. of plastics film or sheet, to at least partly contain the humus laterally. USE - Esp. for construction of sports pitches for e.g., football, to provide a natural grass surface while allowing areas of localised wear to be readily renewed and refreshed. The panels may vary in size or shape, to fit together with or without zones within or between and under the panels filled with a more porous material such as sand for enhanced drainage.

   DESCRIPTION

   DESCRIPTION

Any playing field made of natural grass, and especially a football field in front of goals, suffers from inevitable wear of the grass during trampling (matches). Currently, the only remedial remedies consist either of replacing a thin layer of precultivated grass on the existing soil, or reseeding the surface, but, in both cases, immobilizing the land for several weeks or even months. , is inevitable.

Only synthetic turf pitches do not experience similar wear, but these, on the one hand, are not accessible to all clubs given their price and, on the other hand, have certain other drawbacks.

The precultivated turf on a mobile support, with all its volume of humus layer necessary both for the growth of the turf and for the exercise of the game, will allow a rapid exchange of damaged surfaces.

To ensure a replacement turf identical to the existing one, it will suffice to pre-cultivate the mobile turf near the surfaces to be exchanged (clearance zones, for example, for a football field).

The present invention relates to a mobile lawn, consisting of a layer of humus comprising grass, supported by rigid elements, resistant and permeable, allowing movement.

The attached drawing represents ,. by way of example, an embodiment of the mobile lawn which is the subject of the invention.

Fig. 1 is a sectional view thereof.

Fig. 2 shows several elements in section and in plan, but put in place on the ground.

The mobile grass represented is constituted by a support made of rigid, resistant and permeable elements 1 (example: porous concrete), so as to receive a layer of humus 2 necessary for the good growth of the grass 3.

The humus layer 2 also serves as a support for the exercise of the game. The elements thus formed are placed on a permeable and draining infrastructure (basement) 4.

Once the elements are installed, use can be instantaneous.
