Abstract

The watch includes an indicator showing the signs of the zodiac which is driven by a mobile element (4). The element carries a concentric hub supporting a satellite pinion (41). This engages a reference ring (3) which is immobile, and further ring (2) which carries the zodiac signs. The zodiac ring effects one turn per year under the action of the satellite pinion acting between it and the reference ring. The driving mobile element (4) may form part of a calendar display, and may thus be manually corrected. ADVANTAGE - Zodiac display requires minimal energy and thus is suitable for quartz mechanisms.
