Abstract

The glass (12) for a wristwatch is supported by a metal ring (10) enclosed by a wooden ring (14) for a required decorative effect. The movement (11) is supported by a metal plate (16) enclosed by a base (20) also made of wood, giving the effect of a solid wood casing. The metal plate and base are connected by screws using holes tapped in the plate. The two wooden parts are connected to the metal ring by an adhesive. Between the base plate is a sealing ring (16a). On the outer surface of the upper wooden ring are precious stones (15) spaced to correspond with the hours. ADVANTAGE - Has strong, robust design.
