Description
The invention relates to a paving stone made of a setable mass, in particular of concrete, with an approximately square outline, and a paving made of such stones.
Road and path construction in public and private outdoor facilities, in parks etc. tends to tend towards free forms and curved lines of movement. With the exception of circular stones, rectangular or square paving stones for curved lines can only be used if they are laid with their vertical edges abutting one another over a corner. However, they are not intended for this purpose; this results in design-related formal and functional, but often also technical shortcomings, such as the need to subsequently fill open joints, cut or cut stones, etc.
A The invention has for its object to provide a paving stone with which it is not only possible to lay these stones in parallel straight rows, but also in curved rows, without the individual stones losing contact with one another in the plane of the paving. A
The object is achieved according to the invention in that two mutually opposite side surfaces of the paving stone each have two edges which are slightly inclined outwards beyond the plane defined by their sides perpendicular to the base surface and in a cutting edge which runs perpendicular to the base surface of the stone and runs in the central plane of the stone abutting planar partial surfaces exist, while the other two side surfaces are flat and that the outer edges corresponding to the approximately square outline of the stone towards its upper side, forming the intersection points of the cut edges with the assigned surface edges and to the
The center points of the triangular gussets that run out toward the other surface edges are chamfered in such a way that the surface of the stone has an outline in the form of a regular octagon. The outer edges are appropriately beveled about half of their length.
The invention also relates to paving of such paving stones, in which the individual stones are laid in rows parallel to one another in such a way that adjacent stones in a row touch with the cut edges of the partial surfaces and the stones of the rows with one another touch the flat surfaces.
The basic idea of the paving stone according to the invention is to give the stone, as it were, a fulcrum. This fulcrum is formed by the vertical cut edges of the outwardly sloping partial surfaces on the two opposite outer sides of the stone. This ensures that the stones always touch in the same place when they are lined up, both in straight rows and in concave and convex curvatures. In this way, a central axis is created in the stone or, in the case of multiple rows, parallel central axes. The stones formed in this way allow practically any curvature according to different sizes.
It is also essential for the paving stone according to the invention that these vertical cut edges extend over the entire height of the stone, that is to say form an abutment edge over the entire height of the paving, and that the two other side surfaces also extend over the entire height of the stone, at least in their central region . This means that adjacent stones not only have the largest possible contact edges or surfaces for power transmission, but also the stones of adjacent rows.
Nevertheless, due to the bevels in the upper area, the paving stone always provides a uniformly appealing image, even with different laying methods. By chamfering the outer edges with the formation of triangular gussets, joints are always formed between the stones, albeit with different opening widths. This also creates a balanced harmony in the individual stone, which does not allow hard, right-angled corners to appear. This is of great importance especially in the summation of the stones in the paving. In addition, this also means that a joint pattern that varies due to the curvature of the rows but always follows a certain regularity is created. The joints are part of the paving and its appearance; however, they can also result in a smooth transition to vegetation areas adjoining the paving due to grass overgrowth.
Es zeigt The invention is explained below with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawing. It shows

eines Quadrats etwas nach aussen geneigt. Sie bilden jeweils einen Schnittpunkt 7, der in der Symmetrieebene S-S des Steins 1 liegt (Fig. 4). of a square inclined slightly outwards. They each form an intersection 7, which lies in the plane of symmetry S-S of the stone 1 (FIG. 4).
Thus, the basic body of the stone 1 is partly delimited by side surfaces 8, which have approximately the shape of a gable roof (FIGS. 2 and 4) and rise above the basic sides 2 and 3, and partly by side surfaces consisting of partial surfaces 9 and 10 which have approximately the shape of a pent roof and rise above the parts 5 'and 5 "of the bent base edge 5 and form a cutting edge 11 which rises vertically above the intersection 7 (FIGS. 3 and 4). The side surfaces 8 and the partial surfaces 9 and 10 each intersect in vertical outer edges 12.
The outer edges 12 are slanted upwards from a point 13 (FIG. 4), which is approximately half their length; they run in the region 12 'obliquely inwards to one of the upper corner points 14 of the surface 15 of the stone, which thus has the appearance of a regular octagon. This creates triangular gussets 16 which intersect in oblique edges 17 with the side surfaces 8 and in oblique edges 18 with the partial surfaces 9 or 10.
The triangular gussets 16 terminate with a point in each case to the intersection points 19 of the cut edges 11 with the surface edges 20 or to the center points 21 of the surface edges 22. The surface edges 20 or s 22 are formed broken at 23, which serves to make it easier to remove the stone during manufacture and to achieve a more appealing image in the paving.
5 and 6 for the laying of paving stones according to the invention it can be seen how a central axis M is formed by lining up stones 1 to form straight rows in the area of the cutting edges 11, in which the individual stones touch and from where a regular network of opening and closing joints 24 is created. The edges 11 thus form a certain 15 fulcrums, the stones can also be laid so that the central axis M formed by the connecting line of the fulcrums is curved (FIG. 6). In extreme cases, the stones touch each other with the partial surfaces 9 and 10. In order to make this clear, the inclination angle 20, which the partial surfaces 9 and 10 abutting in the edges 11 form with one another, is exaggerated in comparison with FIG. 1.
