Abstract

A piezo-electric resonator (30) which in operation vibrates in a plurality of coupled vibrational modes, the resonator (30) having electrodes (33, 34) which cover substantially the entire obverse and reverse sides of a vibrational portion (35) of the resonator (30), the electrode (34) on one side of the vibrational portion (35) having a substantially uniform thickness, and the electrode (33) on the other side of the vibrational portion (35) having electrode end portions (20, 21) which are thicker than a central portion (36) of the last-mentioned electrode (33).
