9. Red reactor according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the container (1) is provided with ventilation devices for controlling the rotting process.
The invention relates to a red reactor according to the preamble of claim 1.
A red reactor of the type mentioned above is mentioned in a non-prepublished Swiss patent application. As a transportable container, this red reactor has the advantage that - filled with rotting material - it can be brought to the object to be heated at any location and can be connected to the heating circuit of the object to be heated by quickly separable lines.
The container - comparable in size to conventional sea freight containers - is provided with all facilities for controlling the rotting process, such as ventilation and aeration devices, a circulating device for the material to be rotted and suitable heat exchangers for dissipating the heat generated.
This red reactor is a discontinuous heat recovery system.
However, it has been found during operation that a quasi-continuous system is desirable for the rotting of organic materials which are difficult to digest, and fresh organic material can also be refilled during operation.
Due to the small amount of heat per amount used in the case of material which is difficult to rot, fresh material has to be added more often in a certain time interval in order to obtain a sufficient amount of heat for the heating.
The invention has for its object to provide a red reactor of the type mentioned, which is suitable for rotten material.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the container is cylindrical and rotatable. This ensures that the transportable container as a whole can be rotated during operation. Another advantage is that the effort that was previously required for a circulating device located inside the container can be considerably reduced. During the operation of the container, the container only has to be rotated in an intermittent manner, whereby it is ensured that the rotting material is always in intimate contact with the heat exchanger surfaces. Depending on the speed of rotation of the container, the dwell time of the rotting material in the device can also be determined. This is important if the rotting material is only to be partially broken down.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the container can be freely placed on a fixed holding device which is provided with idlers and a drive device.
One end of the holding device can have a lifting cylinder. The rotary movement and the position of the container raised on one side by means of the lifting cylinder ensures that the emptying and simultaneous refilling of the container can be easily accomplished.
Furthermore, water-carrying, double-walled, cylindrical heat exchangers can be arranged coaxially in the container at radial intervals and are intended for direct contact with the material to be rotten. This ensures intimate contact of the rotting material with the heat exchanger surface, which contact is of crucial importance for the transfer of the heat generated.
In addition, a tubular heat exchanger can be arranged in the middle of the container. This results in very intimate contact between the rotting material and the heat exchanger surface.
Furthermore, the radially inner, cylindrical heat exchanger can be divided into sections with axial distances. Mixing of the material in the container is thereby achieved.
The radial distance between two adjacent heat exchangers can be a maximum of 60 cm. This distance is advantageous since the thickness of the layer of rotting material from which the heat is to be obtained should not exceed 25-30 cm in order to ensure satisfactory contact of the rotting material with the heat exchanger surface.
The container can advantageously have an outer diameter of approximately 2.30 m and a length of approximately 6.00 m.
In addition, the container can be provided with ventilation devices for controlling the rotting process.
Embodiments of the invention are explained below with reference to the drawings. Show it:
1 is an end view of an embodiment of a red reactor according to the invention with the container open,
Fig. 2 is a substantially longitudinal vertical section through the red reactor in Fig. 1 and
Fig. 3 shows a detail regarding the water passage on an end face of the container.
1 and 2, a red reactor is shown. The red reactor is designed as a fully transportable and fully closable drum or container 1. The container can be set up freely and can also be transported during operation and is provided with quickly separable or connectable connecting devices for connecting the container to the object to be heated or its heating circuit. The container is cylindrical and preferably has an outer diameter of approximately 2.30 m and a length of approximately 6.00 m.
The container is designed in such a way that it can be rotated as a whole during operation. The container 1 can be placed freely on a fixed holding device 2, which is provided with support rollers 3 and 4, a holding roller 5 and a drive device in the form of a geared motor 6. One end of the holding device 2 has a lifting cylinder 10.
In the container 1, water-carrying, double-walled, cylindrical heat exchangers 7 and 8 are arranged coaxially at certain intervals and are in direct contact with the material to be rotten. It has been found that the intimate contact of the rotting material with the heat exchanger surface is of crucial importance for the transfer of the heat produced, the thickness of the layer of rotting material from which the heat is to be obtained not to exceed 25-30 cm .
This means that the distance between two heat exchangers must not exceed 60 cm. The heat exchangers 7 and 8 can be designed so that they are self-supporting as double-walled cylinders, or it can, e.g.
Due to the risk of corrosion, water-bearing plastic mats are also placed on load-bearing steel cylinders as heat exchangers. On the outside, the container 1 is provided with a corresponding insulation layer 9 for thermal insulation.
An advantage of the device is that the amount of force that was previously required for a circulating device located inside the container can be considerably reduced. Due to the rotary movement and the position of the container 1 raised on one side by means of the lifting cylinder 10, the emptying and simultaneous refilling of the container can be easily accomplished.
During the operation of the container, the container only has to be rotated in an intermittent manner, which ensures that the rotting material is always in intimate contact with the surfaces of the heat exchangers 7 and 8.
Depending on the inclination and speed of rotation of the container, the dwell time of the rotting material in the device can also be determined. This is important if the rotting material is only to be partially broken down. The dwell time can also be influenced by swirl plates 11 located on the heat exchangers 7 and 8.
In the version with double-walled, cylindrical heat exchangers 7 and 8, which are filled with the heat-transfer medium, the flow and the direction must be selected so that the cylindrical heat exchangers 7 and 8 can each be fully flowed through, the liquid e.g. flows in the outer heat exchanger 7 in the opposite direction 12 (FIG. 2) in the inner heat exchanger 8. In the embodiment shown, a third heat exchanger 13 in the form of a tube can also be arranged in the middle of the container.
Because the radial distances between the heat exchangers 7, 8, 13 should not exceed 60 cm, the exemplary embodiment described would advantageously be dimensioned as follows: a water-carrying, double-walled, cylindrical heat exchanger 7 with an inner diameter of 2.10 m, and a further double-walled one at a radial distance of 60 cm , cylindrical heat exchanger 8 and a tubular heat exchanger 13 in the middle of the container.
The inner double-walled, cylindrical heat exchanger 8 may also be formed in two or more tubular sections with gaps in order to achieve thorough mixing of the material in the drum.
The ventilation can take place via two annular drainage pipes 14 (FIG. 1) arranged at the axial ends of the container 1, the air passing through the container wall being fed to one drainage pipe 14 and discharged from the other drainage pipe.
In order to control the air throughput and thus the rotting process, a blower fixed to the container 1 can be arranged in one channel.
For filling with organic, decomposable materials, such as straw, tree bark and green matter, a filling funnel 18 divided into two chambers 16 and 17 is placed, which uniformly fills the spaces between the two cylindrical heat exchangers 7 and 8 lying one inside the other. After the filling process, the container is closed on both sides with heat-insulating plates and put into operation.
The supply and discharge of the heat transfer medium, i.e. Water must be carried out in such a way that various sealing elements close the water cycle during the rotary movement so that the water can be pumped into the fixed pipes of the object to be heated (Fig. 3). This can be done in such a way that the supply 19 and return 20 of the heat exchangers 7, 8, 13 are brought together at one end of the container 1 on the axis located in the middle and, as in FIG. 3, connected to the supply 24 and return 25 of the heating system will.
As in FIGS. 1 and 2, struts 21 can be provided. The filling funnel 18 (FIG. 2) can advantageously be removed.
The container 1 is provided with guide rails 22 and 23 in which the support rollers 3 and 4 can run.
