La came 35 (voir fig.
description.

Machines are already known allowing the placing around a certain number of bottles, for example 2, 4, 6 or 12, of an envelope produced using a pre-cut and preformed cardboard.
However, until now, part of this grouping packaging had to be produced manually or else with extremely complicated machines using particularly sophisticated transfer elements. therefore fragile and of a fairly short lifespan.
So. these machines entered not only a high cost price but a very expensive maintenance, and their working speed was quite limited due to the very difficulties of implementation encountered.
The object of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks by creating. from a plate or sheet of paper, cardboard paper or corrugated pre-cut and preformed paper. packaging for a number of bottles of variable dimensions, the constitution of which is simple and which uses only proven techniques to enable packaging of this group of bottles in a simple, rapid and safe manner.
To achieve this object, the machine according to the invention is produced as described in claim 1.
An embodiment of the object of the invention is shown, by way of nonlimiting example, in the accompanying drawing.

Fig. 20 is a plan view of the camshaft controlling the various mechanisms of the machine.
As seen in Figs. 3 to 7. the machine rests in a frame 1 of substantially rectangular parallelepiped shape, this frame bearing on the ground by feet 2. The frame comprises on the front part of the machine an extension 3 of the frame 1. so as to support a jack 4 (see fig. 13) intended to move transversely a set 5 of bottles B arriving from a conveyor 6 through the front part of the machine (see fig. 4). The bottles B arriving by the conveyor 6 are automatically stored on several orthogonal parallel lines, for example two rows of six bottles.
These come into abutment on a plate 7 (see fig. 4) so as to be correctly stored.
The conveyor 6. as can be seen in FIG. 4, ends with a chute 8 ensuring the correct distribution of the bottles B.
When the number of bottles B is sufficient or when a device. not shown but in common use. allowing the counting of the bottles B has ensured that the number of bottles is exact, this counting device stops the transporter 6 and, at this time. these bottles B are locked at the station Pl (see fig. 4) by lifting a harrow 10 (see fig. 9).
The movement of this harrow is given by the action of a jack (not shown) acting on a bar 10a forming the support of the harrow 10. The bar 10a is guided by columns 10b
sliding in sleeves 10c integral with the frame 1 of the machine.
In addition, a geared motor 11 (see fig. 7) drives. by means of a pinion 12 and a chain 13, a pinion 14 mounted on a shaft 15 supported by a frame 1. The shaft 15 rotates a disc 16 comprising an arm 17 terminated by a cooperating roller 18 with the teeth 19 of a Maltese cross 20 mounted on a shaft 21, so that the rotation of one turn of the disc 16, of the arm 17 and of the roller 18 causes the rotation of the Maltese cross by quarter turn and therefore from the shaft 21, on which sprockets 22-23 are mounted (see fig. 11) over which pass two parallel chains 24 guided to the rear part of the machine by means of the sprockets 25. The chains 24 carry blocks 26 made of simple material and intended for the training of packages-packaging containing the bottles B.
The pinions 25 are mounted idly on an axis 26a secured to a frame 1 of the machine.
In addition, it is provided in the central part Id of the frame 1 of the equidistant horizontal bars, along which the blocks 26 can move. It is possible as shown in FIG. 6 to drive the shaft 27 via a pinion 28 (see fig. 6 and
20) by means of a chain 29 which, passing over teeth 30,
arrives at a pinion 31 of the shaft 15 to thus ensure the rotation of
the shaft 27 which carries cams whose role will be explained later.
The cam 35 (see fig. 20) by turning causes the supply of the
vertical cylinder which, as explained above, lifts the harrow 10
in the direction of arrow F20 (see fig. 9). We thus obtain a sepa
ration of the number of bottles counted B. At this time, and because
of the rotation of the shaft 27, it occurs by means of a pneumatic control the lowering in the horizontal plane of the flaps 36-37 (see fig. 7) allowing the supply of the assembly 5 of
bottles B on station P2 as explained below.
Indeed, due to the time delay given by the rotation of the
Maltese cross 20, the movement given by the jack 4 is possible.
It is pushed back by means of the plate 4a, integral with the frame 4b, mounted
at the end of the push rod 4c to slide the bottles B of the
station Pl at station P2 (see fig. 4 and 8). Above this P2 post is
obliquely arranged a magazine 38 containing blanks El of
cardboard to constitute the packaging of the bottles. Such a
blank El is shown for example in FIG. 1 to facilitate
description.
The store 38 is constituted, as is common in similar
case, by vertical guides 38a distributed around the store, and the
blanks are held by pressure on their periphery, because
that the vertical guides 38a are slightly elastic.
In addition, under the control of a pneumatic device not shown
felt, articulated arms 40 are raised in the position of FIG. 3, in
general using the cam 40a and the roller 40b, against the action of a
elastic organ. At the same time, the suction cups 41 are set in th
pressure so as to stick to the bottom 100 of the blank El.
lowering movement of the arms 40 in the direction of the arrow F21
(see fig. 3 and 6) causes the supply of a blank El on the station
P2, that is to say that the bottom 100 of the blank El rests on the bars
the and the flaps 36, 37. The arms 40 and the suction cups 41 remain under the
bottom of the blank El. At this time, the plate 4a secured to the rod
of cylinder 4 pushes back in the direction of arrow F22 (see fig. 8) the bou
seals on the bottom 100 of the blank El held by the suction cups 41
secured to the arm 40.
Thus, the bottles pushed by the cylinder 4 ar
rivet on the bottom 100 of the blank El which rests on the hori bars
zontales on and on flaps 36, 37.
This movement of bottles B between station P1 and station P2
is possible due to the time delay given by the rotation of the
Maltese cross 20 during the back and forth movement of a jack 4.
Likewise, by means of a device placed under the control of the tree
with cams 27, the putting into service of the four jacks 51, 52, 53, 54 (see fig. 7) makes it possible to push back the transverse sides 102-103 of the packaging El. When the movement of return and of these cylinders 51, 52, 53, 54 is finished, the movement given to the Maltese cross drives the chains 24 a sufficient distance, so that a group of blocks 26 brings the packaging El carrying the bottles B to the second station of work to allow the establishment of the top of the packaging El. The latter is then at station P3. The movement of movement from station P2 to station P3 causes, due to the guide 55 (see fig. 3), the complete lifting of the longitudinal side 104 and the top 105 of the package El.
Thus the bottles begin to be covered (see fig. 2) and the upper flap 107 is brought opposite to the longitudinal side 104.
A new rotation of the Maltese cross 20 allows the passage of the packaging El from station P3 to station P4, in which the longitudinal side 108 is raised by pushers 56 (fig. 7) mounted on a shaft 57 driven in rotation by a pinion 58, the movement of which is given by a chain 59 rotating on a pinion 59a driven by the end of the shaft 15. In addition, at this time, glue at the right temperature is dispensed by a sliding distributor 60 the along the upper flap 107 of the packaging El. The movement of this sliding distributor (see fig. 19) is given, from a jack not shown, by a chassis 61 sliding on a transverse guide 62 disposed above the horizontal bars the frame 1.
Likewise, with the distribution of glue, an applicator device 65 moves along a guide 66 mounted above the bars of the frame 1 (see fig. 18).
Thus, the packaging El can be closed transversely.
Finally, two fixed glue distributors 68, 69 (fig. 4) are provided between the station P4 and the station P5 in order to correctly glue the transverse reinforcements 108a-108b as well as the side flaps 105a-105b from the top 105 of El packaging.
When the glue is dispensed and after moving the station
P4 at station P5 via the Maltese cross, two applicator arms 71 (see fig. 17) are controlled by the linkage 73, 74 subjected to the action of a hydraulic cylinder 70, 71 ensuring the correct tightening lateral flaps 105a, 105b on the lateral reinforcements which are held for a certain time by the plates 90 mounted at the top of the latches 91 (see FIGS. 13 and 14).
Thus the packaging El is perfectly glued and finished.
Reference 78 designates the station which allows the adhesive to be maintained at the desired temperature and viscosity for rapid setting (see fig. 4).
The different cams 80, 81, 82, 83, 84 angularly offset as well as the oleopneumatic control devices 85 ensure the synchronization of different movements of the machine as explained above.
Of course, while the installation by the machine of El has been explained on a group 5 of bottles B, the machine has continued to count bottles B, to put in place blanks El and to carry out packaging of bottles in stations
Pl, P2, P3, P4, so that when the first packaging arrives at station P5, it can be removed to station P6 and then directed by a conveyor 120 to the loading location, for example on a pallet.
Thus, the work of the machine is continuous and by using the appropriate time delay, for example a time delay based on 6 s, a total packaging is obtained.
The machine is of course equipped with detectors allowing the machine to stop in the event of the bottles B not being present, lack of information concerning the flaps 36, 37, the advance of the 15 chains 24 provided with blocks 26, the lack of transverse movement information towards the station P2 and the locking of the bottles by the harrow 10 as well as the lack of blanks El.
