EMI3.4

EMI4.2
EMI4.3

Examples of suitable pyrethroids for forming the active compound combinations contained in the agents according to the invention are:

EMI3.4

The compounds described above as the active ingredient component of the agents according to the invention are already known to be individually pesticidal.
The active ingredient component (2- (2 ', 4'-dimethylphenylimino) -3-methyl-thiazoline is described in Swiss Patent No. 614,946.
The combination of different chemical compounds for the generation of synergistic activity enhancement for the control of pests becomes increasingly important due to the possibility to effectively counteract the increasingly common resistance of the parasites to individual compounds. An increase in the amounts of active substance that is necessary because of the occurrence of signs of resistance in the parasites can thus be largely avoided. The resulting savings in substance quantities bring significant ecological advantages, both economically and by reducing the environmental impact.
Mixtures of different classes of substances, such as pyrethrins, pyrethroids, carbamates and phosphoric acid esters, have already been described as synergistically active preparations in the pesticide field. It has been shown, however, that the known combination preparations do not always meet the demands placed on them in practice, particularly with regard to efficacy, toxicity and economy.
It has now been found that the active compound combinations comprising 2- (2 ', 4'-dimethylphenylimino) -3-methyl-thiazoline and pyrethroids contained in the agents according to the invention have a high ectoparasiticidal, in particular acaricidal, and insecticidal activity. This is aimed primarily at ectoparasites, such as mites, including ticks and mite mites, and against insects, such as lice and hair lice, flies and fly larvae, and mosquitoes and mosquito larvae. The importance of the present invention is above all that the new parasiticidal compositions can be successfully used against hygiene pests and thus make an important contribution to keeping people and animals healthy by preventing the spread of diseases.
In addition, the use of the agents according to the invention in agriculture significantly improves the yield of the farm animals.
Combinations of 2- (2 ', 4'-dimethylphenylimino) -3-methylthiazoline with the following pyrethroids are to be regarded as preferred:
EMI3.6
EMI4.1
(S) .a-Cyano-3-phenoxybenzyl (1 R) -cis-3- (2,2-dibrominyl-2,2-dimethyl-cyclopropanecarboxylic acid ester.
The range from 1: 100 to 100: 1 applies to the weight ratios of the thiazoline compound to the pyrethroid compounds which are decisive in the active compound combinations according to the invention. The combination ratio of thiazoline compound to pyrethroid compound in the range from 1:50 to 50: 1 is particularly suitable for the development of the synergistic effect, and the range from 1:20 to 20: 1 is to be regarded as preferably effective.
The invention on which the agents according to the invention are based is explained in more detail with reference to the following examples. The analysis of the biocidal efficacy of mixtures of substances on certain species is carried out using the method of Y.-P. Sun and E.R. Johnson [J. Econ. Entomol.
53, 887 (1960)].
The combined effect of the combined active substances was investigated by determining the current toxicity indices of the components and the mixture of the components in relation to the dose-response curve. The theoretical toxicity of the mixture corresponds to the sum of the toxicity indices, calculated from the percentage of each component multiplied by the respective toxicity index. Therefore, the total toxicity or co-toxicity coefficient of a mixture is the actual toxicity index of the mixture x 100 theoretical toxicity index of the mixture
A coefficient of a mixture of almost 100 shows an essentially similar effect of the two pesticides; an independent effect usually results in a coefficient of less than 100, while a coefficient that is significantly above 100 indicates synergism.
The following compounds were investigated: A) 2- (2 ', 4'-dimethylphenylimino) -3-methyl-thiazoline
EMI4.2
EMI4.3
E) (S) -a-cyano-3-phenoxybenzyl (1 R) -cis-3- (2,2-dibromovinyl-2,2-dimethyl-cyclopropanecarboxylic acid ester.
The effectiveness of mixtures consisting of compound A and one of compounds B to E was tested on ticks (Boophilus microplus). The ticks used are an OP-resistant strain. To determine the ED values (effective dose for 50% of the test animals), a series of dilutions of both different mixing ratios and of the individual compounds were prepared.
Example 1:
Dip application
40 ticks (Boophilus microplus VO were fixed dorsally in a Petri dish with a diameter of 9 cm on an adhesive tape and treated with a dilution of the active ingredients or combinations of active ingredients in standard WHO water. The dilution solution was poured into the dish so that the test animals were covered by the solution.
The temperature of the solution in the dish was kept at 20 to 25 ° C. The immersion time was 1 hour. The active ingredient solution was then poured off and the dish was rinsed.
The dish with the test animals contained therein was dried overnight in the laboratory and then incubated at 28 ° C. and about 90% RH and left for 3 to 4 weeks under these conditions.
The evaluation relates to the reduction in hatched larvae.
From the results obtained, the EDs0 values were determined in llg / tick and the cotoxicity coefficients were calculated (if this index is well above 100, the combined effect of the two mixture components is more than additive, i.e. synergism occurs). The results shown in Table 1 represent mean values from several individual tests of 40 test animals each per drug concentration.

Dusts, scattering agents, granules, liquid processing forms: a) water-dispersible active ingredient combination concentrates:
Wettable powder pastes, emulsions; b) solutions
The content of active ingredient combination in the application forms described above is between 1 and 80%.
Example 2:
Emulsion concentrate 20 parts by weight of active ingredient combination are dissolved in 70 parts by weight of xylene and with 10 parts by weight of an emulsifier consisting of a
Mixture of an arylphenyl polyglycol ether and the calcium salt of dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid. The
Emulsion concentrate can be used in any ratio
Water are added and forms a milky
Emulsion.
Example 3:
Emulsion concentrate
5 to max. 50 parts by weight of active ingredient combination, with stirring at room temperature in 30 parts by weight of dibutyl phthalate, 10 parts by weight of Solvent 200 (low-viscosity, highly aromatic.
Petroleum distillate) 15 to 35 parts by weight of Dutrex 238 FC (viscous, highly aromatic.
Petroleum distillate) dissolved and with 10 parts by weight of an emulsifier mixture consisting of
Castor oil polyglycol ether and the calcium salt of decylbenzenesulfonic acid. The emulsion concentrate thus obtained gives milky emulsions in water.
Example 4:
Wettable powder
5 to 50 parts by weight of active ingredient combination are in a
Mixer with
5 parts by weight of an absorbent carrier material (silica K 320 or Wessalon S) and 55 to 80 parts by weight of a carrier material (bolus alba or kaolin B 24) and a dispersant mixture consisting of
5 parts by weight of a Na lauryl sulfonate and
5 parts by weight of an alkyl aryl polyglycol ether, mixed intensively. This mixture is on a pen or
Air jet mill ground to 5-15 llm. The spray powder obtained in this way gives a good suspension in water.
Example 5:
Dusts
5 parts by weight of finely ground active ingredient combination
2 parts by weight of a precipitated silica and 92 parts by weight of talc mixed intensively.
