PATENTANSPRÜCHE

PATENT CLAIMS
1. A method for the galvanic production of a profiled cutting tool, in particular a grinding wheel containing a precise profile, characterized in that during the galvanic fastening process of the cutting hard material, the same is sprinkled onto the pre-profiled tool base body, an exact role being continuously provided by means of a roller containing the exact counter profile Profile of the cutting tool is generated.
2. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that the cutting body containing the cutting hard material of the cutting tool is made of ductile material or has a layer of ductile material on its surface receiving the cutting hard material.
The galvanic production of profiled cutting tools, in which the cutting material diamond or cubic boron nitride is bound to a metallic base body by precipitation of nickel, is known.
In most of the methods used to date, cutting material such as diamond or cubic boron nitrite is suspended in a nickel electrolyte in which a nickel anode is also immersed.
The cutting tool to be manufactured, which has a metallic base body or a base body with a metallized surface, is immersed in the galvanic bath and nickel-plated by applying an electrical voltage.
The diamond or boron nitride particles held in the nickel bath are deposited on the tool to be produced and galvanically connected to it by the nickel plating process.
In some cases, the diamond or boron nitride grain is also sprinkled on the tool to be produced and then connected to it by the nickel plating process.
The manufacturing methods described have the disadvantage that the profile of the tool to be manufactured can only be mastered with insufficient accuracy during production.
In many cases, the manufactured tool, such as a diamond or boron nitride grinding wheel, has to be reworked to get an exact shape. to generate or to align the cutting surface with a defined accuracy around a predetermined center. The finishing is done in most cases by dressing with a silicon carbide wheel or a diamond dressing wheel, in other cases also by an electrolytic or electroerosive process.
The object of the invention is to combine the application and subsequent removal process, which determines the exact shape and position, in one process and therefore to enable the production of inexpensive hard material tools. The accuracy of the hard material grinding wheel in relation to the profile shape and its position relative to the center of rotation should also be increased.
According to the invention, this is achieved by sprinkling the same on the pre-profiled tool base body during the galvanic fastening process of the cutting hard material, an exact profile of the cutting tool being continuously generated by means of a roller containing the exact counter-profile.
The base body of the cutting tool receiving the cutting hard material can consist of ductile material or have a layer of ductile material on its surface receiving the cutting hard material.
In the following, an example of the method for the production of a diamond grinding wheel is given on the basis of the attached schematic drawing.
The process arrangement shown in Fig. 1 consists of the disc base body 2 clamped on the rotatable shaft 1, which carries a layer 3 of ductile metal. The disk base body 2 is partially immersed in the electroplating bath 4, which is located in the container 5, and the coating process proceeds as follows:
The disk base body 2 rotates about its axis 6 such that its circumference, which is partially immersed in the electroplating bath 4, always remains wet.
A precisely measured amount of cutting material 8 is continuously sprinkled from the dosing nozzle 7 onto the ductile layer 3 of the disk base body 2 and rolled in with the form roller 9 containing the exact counter-shape of the disk to be produced. The cutting material 8 slightly adhering to the circumference of the base body 2 due to the rolling process now enters the electroplating bath 4, which fixes the cutting material 8 on the base body 2 with the aid of electric current and the nickel anode 10.
Excess cutting material 8 sinks into the collecting tray 11 located in the container 5 and can be reused.
The rolling-up and galvanizing process is repeated with every revolution of the disk base body 2 until the desired layer thickness of the cutting composition is reached.
The method described here enables the precise production of hard material-coated cutting tools with regard to their shape and position of the shape.
This is of particular importance in the case of hard-material-coated grinding wheels, since here the position of the shape in relation to the axis of rotation of the grinding wheel must be strictly observed.
A subsequent dressing of the grinding wheel is not necessary.
